|Case Keenum earns another start|
Vikings ride hot hand despite Teddy Bridgewater's improved health
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Nov 15, 12:30 pm
|Minnesota is staying the course with Case Keenum under center.
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer told reporters in a news conference Wednesday that he will not bench Keenum for Teddy Bridgewater this week against the Los Angeles Rams, sticking with the journeyman quarterback who has led Minnesota to a 7-2 start
FFToday's Take: Case Keenum's ability to keep the Vikings atop the NFC North has given the team plenty of confidence to stick with him under center-at least for another week. Teddy Bridgewater figures to eventually take over before the end of the year but he may have to wait for Keenum to falter before getting his opportunity.

Teddy Bridgewater activated
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Nov 8, 11:38 am
|We haven't seen Sam Bradford since early October -- and we won't see him again this season.
The Vikings quarterback had his troublesome knee scoped by Dr. James Andrews on Tuesday to clean it out, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per sources informed of the situation. With the return of Teddy Bridgewater from the physically unable to perform list, Bradford was placed on injured reserve.
FFToday's Take: Minnesota has been winning with Case Keenum keeping the offense rolling for fantasy owners. Keenum figures to maintain his starting role this week on the road against a Redskins defense that has given up 24.2 points per game in 2017 (ninth worst in the NFL). Teddy Bridgewater may force his way back into the lineup in the near future if he can prove he is fully recovered from his knee injury. He is worth monitoring and could provide a fantasy boost down the stretch.
| Stefon Diggs full practice on Thursday|
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Oct 26, 2:00 pm
|Quarterback Case Keenum was a full participant on Thursday after being listed as limited with a chest injury on Wednesday. Stefon Diggs hasn’t played in the last two games because of a groin injury, but got in a limited session on Wednesday before making the move to a full practice on Thursday. There’s been no declarations from the team about his status, but the fact that he made the trip and the step up in practice work are good signs for his availability against the Browns on Sunday. (Pro Football Talk)|
FFToday's Take: It appears Diggs is on track to play in Week 8 after missing the last two weeks with a groin injury. Diggs can be a difference maker on the field but can be difficult to trust at less than full strength for fantasy owners. The Browns have been decent against WRs but Diggs will be on the WR2 radar if he suits up.

Case Keenum will start
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Oct 20, 2:10 pm
|Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer confirmed in his Friday afternoon press conference that Case Keenum will start at quarterback on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Wide receiver Stefon Diggs (groin), quarterback Sam Bradford (knee), guard Nick Easton (calf) have all been ruled out on Sunday after not participating in practice this week. (Vikings.com)|
FFToday's Take: Diggs missed Week 6 with a groin injury and will miss Week 7 as well. In his place Adam Thielen will be the main target for Keenum against the Ravens on Sunday. Kyle Rudolph is also a good option for TE streamers.

Recovery from knee injury; will not come off PUP list right away
By: Doug Orth | Mon Oct 16, 6:55 pm
|Teddy Bridgewater will soon hit the practice field. More than a year after his gruesome knee injury, which led many around the NFL wondering whether the former first-round pick would ever play a down of football again, Bridgewater was cleared by Dr. Dan Cooper to begin practicing, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday. Rapoport added Bridgewater is expected to be activated by the Vikings this week or next.
"No, he won't come off the PUP list," Vikings HC Mike Zimmer said Monday. "He's going to practice, but he has 21 days and he'll stay on the PUP list until he's ready to play." (NFL.com)|
FFToday's Take: It's a rare feel-good story for a player who was considered the Vikings' future at quarterback only about 15 months ago. Now, with Sam Bradford dealing with his own knee issues, it is possible Bridgewater will get a chance to prove himself again. In the meantime, Minnesota is getting serviceable production from Case Keenum, so there is no rush to hurry back Bridgewater. However, if he can show the team he is right over the next three weeks, he could overtake Keenum at that point.

Case Keenum expected to start

FFToday's Take: Expect Case Keenum to get the start against the Packers in Week 6. Diggs noted earlier in the week that he expects to play but missing practice all week suggests he's a candidate for the inactive list. If he is active, he'll be a risky play for fantasy owners. Adam Thielen should be the most targeted receiver for the Vikings this week.
| Sam Bradford aggravates knee injury|
Case Keenum leads team to victory, likely starter in Week 6
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Oct 10, 10:00 am
|Up 3-2 on the Bears, the Vikings called on backup Case Keenum to close out the half with 25 seconds remaining, pulling Sam Bradford, who was 5-of-11 passing for 36 yards, an average of 3.3 yards per pass.
"He aggravated his injury when he got tackled on one of the plays," Zimmer said of Bradford. "I just thought it was best for him that we got him out of there. He didn't want to come out. He wanted to stay in there and fight but I didn't want to get him injured anymore." (ESPN)|
FFToday's Take: Keenum is the safer real-life and fantasy option for the next few weeks as Bradford recuperates and the Vikings evaluate their options when Teddy Bridgewater comes off PUP.

Knee injury; Case Keenum to start Week 4
By: Doug Orth | Thu Sep 28, 6:50 pm
|Sam Bradford (knee) is out Sunday. HC Mike Zimmer: "He's feeling better, he's just not ready to play." (St. Paul Pioneer Press)|
FFToday's Take: Case Keenum took advantage of an undermanned Tampa Bay defense in a big way last weekend, but it is fair to wonder if he can do the same against what has been an opportunistic Detroit defense thus far. If last week proved anything though, it might be that owners can feel good about keeping Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen in their lineups.

Still having pain in knee
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Sep 22, 12:02 pm
|Vikings QB Sam Bradford seeking second opinion on knee from Dr. James Andrews, per @mortreport. Has pronounced pain in knee. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: This doesn't sound good. Bradford is not expected to play in Week 3 meaning Case Keenum will make his second-straight start. Keenum went 20-37 for 167 yards with zero TDS last week against the Steelers. Keenum represents a downgrade for the Vikings offense as a whole. Dalvin Cook and Stefon Diggs are viable players, but expectations should be tempered.

Case Keenum will start

FFToday's Take: With Bradford out Case Keenum will get start. Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen get downgrades on this news along with the offense as a whole.
| Sam Bradford a gametime decision|
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Sep 17, 7:30 am
|Vikings believe Sam Bradford, listed as Q for Sunday, will be gametime decision, per source. They plan to work him out pregame, then decide. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Bradford has been bothered by knee discomfort since the Vikings Week 1 victory against the Saints, even receiving an MRI earlier in the week. If he can't go, Case Keenum will get the start meaning a downgrade for the Vikings offense as a whole.
