|Grimes will likely be the backup passing down back to enter the year. He has been fairly productive with limited opportunities over the past three years, averaging 4.4 yards per carry and 8.8 yards per catch. He is good in a reserve role and could be a handy mid-season pickup should an injury or two provide him with more playing time. The small and speedy fourth round pick out of San Jose State, Tyler Ervin, provides competition for Grimes as a third-down specialist. Ervin should get a crack at helping in the return game and may force his way into special packages, including the hurry up offense if he can flash in camp.

|#Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle), who didn't practice this week, is iffy at best for tonight, sources say, He should be good for Week 17, tho (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Miller has been banged for some time now but has gutted through the last few weeks, often making multiple trips to the sidelines during games. If he's inactive in tonight's game against the Bengals, Alfred Blue, Akeem Hunt and Jonathan Grimes should form a committee approach at running back.
| Lamar Miller misses second straight practice|

|Lamar Miller did not practice in the portion open to the media for the 2nd day in a row Thursday. He "tweaked" his ankle at the end of Sunday's game. (Sarah Barshop on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Miller vowed to play through the injury earlier in the week, but consecutive missed practices leading into a Saturday game means owners need to consider other options. For as much as his season has been a slight disappointment, Miller has been a solid RB2 with a consistent workload. Alfred Blue would likely lead the backfield in touches against Cincinnati if Miller sits, although Akeem Hunt and Jonathan Grimes should also see some touches.
