|Paxton Lynch in mix for starting QB job|
Broncos leaving options open at QB

|With a new head coach and a new offensive staff in place in Denver, the Broncos have an opportunity to go in a new direction. According to Mike Klis of KUSA, the Broncos are prepared to give 2016 first-rounder Paxton Lynch a chance to win the starting job this offseason, and want to push him toward that goal. (ProFootballTalk)|
FFToday's Take: It makes sense for the new regime as Trevor Siemian proved to be a capable but not outstanding quarterback in 2016. There's been speculation that Tony Romo would like to play in Denver but there's been no indication that the Broncos are interested in the veteran QB.

Both QBs to see playing time in season finale

|Trevor Siemian will start Sunday when the Broncos host the Raiders in their regular season finale. But he and rookie quarterback Paxton Lynch are expected to get playing time. (Denver Post)|
FFToday's Take: With the Broncos out of the playoffs, rookie Paxton Lynch will get some playing time in the season finale. Neither quarterback will be viable fantasy play in Week 17.

Broncos eliminated from playoffs Week 16

|With the exception of the most recent game at Kansas City - his only clunker of the season - Trevor Siemian earned the Denver Broncosí No. 1 quarterback job, one of the most exalted positions in all of sports. But first-round draft pick Paxton Lynch has to start this Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.
And thereís a good chance he will, even if Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak wasnít ready to make such a pronouncement Monday, a few hours after returning from his teamís embarrassing Christmas Night performance in Kansas City. (9News)|
FFToday's Take: Kubiak can be excused for not making up his mind yet after the Broncos got back to Denver early Monday morning, but it makes too much sense to give their first-rounder another chance to start in what amounts to a meaningless game for them this weekend. With that said, Lynch has struggled mightily in his limited action, so the Oakland Raiders D/ST makes for a solid play in DFS or Week 17 championships.

|All signs point to Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian starting Sunday against the Titans.
Siemian was limited in practice last week with a left foot sprain and initially listed as questionable for the game. Coach Gary Kubiak said that he was encouraged by Siemian's progress and that his game availability would likely be determined after Friday's workout. (Denver Post)|
FFToday's Take: With Siemian starting both Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders are in play as WR2s against the Titans today. The Broncos and Titans play early we'll know Siemian's status for sure when inactives come out 90 minutes before kickoff.

Siemian dealing with foot injury
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Dec 2, 1:55 pm
|All signs point toward Paxton Lynch getting his second NFL start Sunday at Jacksonville,†as Trevor Siemian recovers from a left foot injury. Siemian injured his foot early in the overtime period against Kansas City last Sunday, and missed his third consecutive practice Friday as a result. (Denver Post)|
FFToday's Take: The Broncos are hoping their defense can carry them to victory over a banged-up Jacksonville squad in Week 13. Lynch went 23-35 for 223 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT in his only start back in Week 5 against the Falcons. The passing game takes a step down with Lynch at QB and makes the Jaguars-D a more attractive punt play.

Foot sprain leaves status for Week 13 up in the air
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Nov 30, 5:27 pm
|ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian was held out of practice Wednesday due to a foot injury and his status Sunday for the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars is in question.
Broncos coach Gary Kubiak called the injury "a foot sprain,'' and Siemian has worn a walking boot on for the past two days.
FFToday's Take: Gary Kubiak indicated that Trevor Siemian could still play even if he missed practice all week so this situation remains very fluid. Rookie Paxton Lynch will continue to see first team reps in practice and would get the chance to start if Siemian can't play on Sunday.
