| Devonta Freeman placed on IR|

FFToday's Take: In addition to his groin, Freeman has suffered a foot injury in 2018. He's eligible to return from the IR given we're heading into Week 6 he has very little fantasy value at this point. Tevin Coleman and Ito Smith should share the bulk of the running back duties moving forward.

Matt Bryant also expected to miss game as well

FFToday's Take: The Falcons are likely looking ahead to their Week 8 bye to give their top running back some more recovery time, but the fact they're already considering him unlikely for Week 7 isn't the greatest of news. Tevin Coleman has been decent as a lead back during Freeman's absences, but he's not making a great case to get paid as a free agent in the offseason. Consider Coleman a low-end RB2 in Week 7 and Ito Smith a serviceable flex.

FFToday's Take: Freeman missed practice this week and is reportedly dealing with a foot and groin injury. Expect Tevin Coleman to start with Ito Smith filling a backup role. Coleman typically sees around 18-22 touches with Freeman out. With this game expected to be a shootout, Coleman is a solid RB2 play with RB1 upside if he finds the endzone.

Foot injury keeping Falcons RB out of practice
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Oct 11, 9:45 am
|Devonta Freeman did not practice on Wednesday and was listed on the official injury report. “His foot is sore,” Quinn said about Freeman. “He was able to do some work off to the side (on Wednesday). He’ll probably participate in some of the walk-through today. But with the soreness we are going to see how it responds over the next day and a half. Certainly, he’s frustrated that he’s got the sore foot, but the good news is that it is not something that’s long-term or any re-aggravation of anything that he’s had prior.” (Atlanta Jounal Constitution)|
FFToday's Take: Freeman missed practice Wednesday and appears to be on the wrong side of questionable this week with a foot injury. If he misses, Tevin Coleman and Ito Smith would handle the backfield workload. Coleman would be a solid RB2 option in a game with a high over/under (57.0).

Missed Week 2 with knee injury

FFToday's Take: About the only thing we know for sure with Freeman right now is that he aggravated the MCL and PCL injury that slowed him down the stretch last year. Owners should probably expect him to miss at least the next two games, while a month-long absence also sounds possible. Tevin Coleman makes for a very serviceable RB2 in the meantime, while Ito Smith appears to have moved into Coleman's old role for now.
| Freeman misses practice Thursday|
Tevin Coleman could carry the load

|Falcons running back Devonta Freeman (sore knee) will be held out of practice on Thursday, according to coach Dan Quinn.

FFToday's Take: It sounds like Freeman is trending towards being inactive this week after suffering a knee injury in Week 1. Coleman would be solid RB2 against the Panthers if Freeman does sit. In three games last season operating as the lead back, Coleman racked up 21, 21, and 19 touches.
