2018 Outlook
Depth Chart
I don't normally address the backup quarterbacks when I do these player outlooks, but the combination of collegiate production, draft pedigree, and the state of the Flacco-led offensive, I'd be remiss if I didn't at least touch on Jackson's fantasy prospects. The former Heisman trophy winner adds a dimension this offense hasn't had since the days of Steve McNair. Jackson can make plays with his legs, both in the running and passing game. Now, barring injury or catastrophe, Jackson is unlikely to see play at quarterback early in the season, but if/when he does, I think he has to be a priority free agent add. Much like Deshaun Watson last year, I do think Jackson has the skills and bravado to give this team a spark, and sometimes fantasy success comes down to finding lightning in a bottle. Most leagues are unlikely to have the roster limits to be able to waste on a back-up QB stash, but if you do, Jackson makes for a fine long-term investment.

News From The Past 90 Days
Injury Lamar Jackson starting Week 13
Joe Flacco not yet cleared to play
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Wed Nov 28, 8:38 am

Baltimore Ravens
Mike Garafolo on Twitter: "The #Ravens plan to start Lamar Jackson against the #Falcons this Sunday, sources say. Joe Flacco (hip) has not been cleared as of now. There’s a chance that could change in the coming days but right now, Jackson remains the starter." (Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Another report says Flacco won't play until he gets in a full week of practice, so it looks like Jackson is getting the thumbs up for now based on his performance and what he offers in contrast to Flacco. The dynamic Jackson is a more appealing fantasy option anyway -- especially facing the Falcons poor defense.

Injury Lamar Jackson expected to start
RGIII could see the field as well
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Nov 18, 8:00 am

Baltimore Ravens
From @gmfb Weekend: The #Ravens offense needed a spark and likely rookie starter Lamar Jackson is poised to provide it against the #Bengals. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: All indications point to Jackson getting the start and we could see Robert Griffin III mixed in on some gadget type plays. Jackson was woeful in the passing department during the pre-season but does have some serious rushing chops which makes him a QB2 consideration.

Injury Flacco misses Friday, starting QB unclear
Lamar Jackson returns
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 16, 11:15 am

Baltimore Ravens
Lamar Jackson returned to practice today. Joe Flacco remained out of practice. If Flacco isn't starting, and it would be quite surprising if he was at this point, I would imagine he wouldn't be an emergency backup either. So could lead to RG3 being active for first time all season as well. Harbaugh said he won’t name a starter at QB for Sunday. (Jeff Zrebiec on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Flacco hasn't practiced in two weeks due to a hip injury meaning it's likely we're going to get either Lamar Jackson or Robert Griffin III starting in Week 11. It sounds like Jackson is trending toward being the starter, but it's no guarantee that he plays all the snaps. RGIII could be mixed in making Jackson a risky QB play.
