2015 Outlook
Depth Chart
As one would expect, Tom Brady’s fantasy value hinges greatly on the pending outcome of his lawsuit against the National Football League and commissioner Roger Goddel’s handling of the deflate gate saga. As of the date of publication, Brady’s four-game suspension has yet to be reduced and second-year QB Jimmy Garappolo is slated to start the first four games of the season. Assuming no change will come from the litigation in the case, Brady is slated to start his season for fantasy owners on October 6 against the Colts on Sunday Night Football. 12 games of Brady and four games replacement play from a backup like Sam Bradford or Carson Palmer could make Brady a nice late pickup in fantasy drafts, especially if you subscribe to the narrative that the Patriots will seek revenge for their perceived poor treatment from the league office by taking it out on other teams on the field with a scorched-earth mentality. Add in the fact that the New England defense appears to have taken a step back from last year’s Super Bowl winning team and could possibly force Brady and the offense to keep pace in high scoring games, and you have the makings for a possible steal for owners who fail to secure a QB until the later stages of the draft.

"Deflategate" decision expected by Sept. 4
Deal could be reached before then or Aug. 31 meeting
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Aug 25, 10:25 am

New England Patriots
On Monday, Aug. 31, attorneys for the NFL and NFLPA are scheduled to meet with U.S. District Judge Richard Berman to continue discussions on the legality of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell upholding Tom Brady’s four-game suspension. (SI)

FFToday's Take: Judge Berman has also ordered Goodell and Brady to attend this meeting. It will likely be the last time they meet before Judge Berman renders a decision, which is expected by Sept. 4. The Aug. 31 meeting, however, doesn’t have to happen. The NFL and NFLPA could instead strike a settlement sometime this week. Hopefully this will put this ridiculous story to rest and give Brady owners an idea when he'll be under center for the Pats.

Randy Moss on Brandin Cooks: "Sky's the limit"
Second-year WR set to become Drew Brees favorite target
By: John Canario | Fri Aug 21, 4:00 pm

New Orleans
Randy Moss, a seven-time Pro Bowl receiver who was born and raised in West Virginia, stopped by the New Orleans Saints training camp on Thursday at the Greenbrier resort. He was there to see old friends on the New England Patriots, including quarterback Tom Brady, but he also had an interest in watching Saints receiver Brandin Cooks. "With Graham gone, that means a lot more targets are going to be coming his way," Moss said. "Just by looking at his body, it looks like he's ready to take on that challenge. He's a good receiver. I'm not going to call him great. But the sky's the limit. He's in a great offense. He's got a great quarterback in Drew Brees. The sky's the limit for whatever he wants to do in this offense, and I think Sean Payton's going to put him in a position to make plays." (New Orleans Times-Picayune)

FFToday's Take: As a rookie last season, Cooks hauled in 53 receptions for 550 yards and three TDs last year in just 10 games - only seven of which he was a starter. It's reasonable to believe that he will double those totals over a full 16 game season.

NFL sticks with 4-game suspension for Brady
Brady likely to take his case to court
By: Mike Krueger | Tue Jul 28, 2:33 pm

New England Patriots
NFL upholds Tom Brady's 4-game suspension, per source. Story continues. Now on to court. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The saga continues. The four-game suspension isn't severe... It's justified. Instead of taking the punishment, Brady will likely continue to push the issue into the courts. There's a possibility Brady could play until his case his heard but we'll gain more details on that scenario in the coming days/weeks.
