2015 Outlook
Depth Chart
2015 will mark Drew Breesí 10th season in New Orleans and 15th season in the NFL. Last year, he failed to reach 5,000 passing yards for the first time since 2010. That is also the last time he ďonlyĒ threw 33 touchdown passes. It seems logical to expect Breesí numbers to decline even more this year even before accounting for the losses of Jimmy Graham and Kenny Stills on offense. Yet the so-called decline he experienced may simply be the result of what he lost last year. Had Brandin Cooks not been lost to injury, the rookie may have continued to pace all Saints receivers for the rest of the year. Had Graham been healthier, there is a good chance he would have finished with a few more touchdowns and hit all of his usual marks. Was losing Darren Sproles prior to 2014 insignificant? The team brought in C.J. Spiller to infuse that pass-catching threat out of the backfield back into the offense. Cooks is healthy and gaining confidence each week as he proves himself to be amongst the NFLís most dangerous young receivers. A more suitable role for the aging Marques Colston and more respectable rushing attack add further reason for optimism in this offense. He is currently slipping into the fifth round of 12-team redraft leagues and remains a cut above the rest of the pack. Luke McCown returns for his second season with the Saints. He will be the primary backup to Brees, but 2015 third-rounder Garrett Grayson appears to be the teamís choice to develop as the heir to the throne once Brees retires.

Randy Moss on Brandin Cooks: "Sky's the limit"
Second-year WR set to become Drew Brees favorite target
By: John Canario | Fri Aug 21, 4:00 pm

New Orleans
Randy Moss, a seven-time Pro Bowl receiver who was born and raised in West Virginia, stopped by the New Orleans Saints training camp on Thursday at the Greenbrier resort. He was there to see old friends on the New England Patriots, including quarterback Tom Brady, but he also had an interest in watching Saints receiver Brandin Cooks. "With Graham gone, that means a lot more targets are going to be coming his way," Moss said. "Just by looking at his body, it looks like he's ready to take on that challenge. He's a good receiver. I'm not going to call him great. But the sky's the limit. He's in a great offense. He's got a great quarterback in Drew Brees. The sky's the limit for whatever he wants to do in this offense, and I think Sean Payton's going to put him in a position to make plays." (New Orleans Times-Picayune)

FFToday's Take: As a rookie last season, Cooks hauled in 53 receptions for 550 yards and three TDs last year in just 10 games - only seven of which he was a starter. It's reasonable to believe that he will double those totals over a full 16 game season.

Jimmy Graham expects to be blocking a lot more
Seahawks TE may no longer be go-to offensive cog
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Aug 4, 8:50 am

Seattle Seahawks
Graham's early debut with the Seahawks has been exactly what was expected, but there are significant differences between what Graham will do in Seattle and what he was asked to do in New Orleans. Blocking was rarely a priority with the Saints because of their pass-happy offense led by Drew Brees. With the Seahawks, blocking is a priority on par with making receptions. "It's very important for me to be a part of that here because that's about 75 percent of the offense here and if you have a back like (Marshawn Lynch), you want to be in there on those explosive runs and you want to be part of that," Graham said. (Associated Press)

FFToday's Take: We're not bullish on Graham's chances to resume the type of fantasy production he saw at his peak in New Orleans, and reaching the 80-reception mark will be a challenge in this offense. Graham seems to be sold on the concept of a '75 percent' running game, and he'll still be a viable third-down option red zone threat -- just not the clear-cut top fantasy TE and difference maker he was in the past.
