News From The Past 90 Days
Injury Tyrod Taylor still in concussion protocol
Bills without a healthy QB heading into season
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Aug 29, 11:05 am

Buffalo Bills
Both Bills QBs Tyrod Taylor and T.J. Yates remain in the concussion protocol Tuesday. Bills coach Sean McDermott said he anticipates Nathan Peterman and Keith Wenning splitting time Thursday night against Detroit. McDermott said Tuesday he will "monitor" Taylor and Yates' situations as far as how much they will play Peterman and risk injury to their potential Week 1 starter. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Yikes. Things aren't off to a great start for the Bills in 2017. Anquan Boldin retired after a few days in Bills camp, and the team will need some veteran presence to help along rookie WR Zay Jones and get the passing offense going.

Boldin has change of heart, retires from NFL
Veteran WR calls is quits
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Aug 20, 7:00 pm

Buffalo Bills
Football has always been a priority for Anquan Boldin. But after 14 seasons, more than 200 games and nearly 14,000 yards receiving, the veteran wide receiver now feels a higher calling, which is why he left the Buffalo Bills on Sunday after only two weeks with the team and plans to retire. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Boldin signed with the Bills two weeks ago but after a couple key trades that included Sammy Watkins and DB Ronald Darby, the veteran receiver had a change of heart. He reportedly wants to focus on humanitarian and human rights work. His departure leaves the Bills with Jordan Matthews (chest), Zay Jones and Andre Holmes atop the wide receiver depth chart.

Jordan Matthews headed to Buffalo
Bills shakeup wide receiver group
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Aug 11, 1:45 pm

Buffalo Bills
The Eagles made a shocking move on Friday, trading away wide receiver Jordan Matthews and a third-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft to the Buffalo Bills for cornerback Ronald Darby, the team announced Friday. (NJ.com)

FFToday's Take: The Bills have made significant changes to the wide receiver group over the last few days by acquiring Anquan Boldin, Mathews and trading star Sammy Watkins to the Rams. The Eagles have been talking up Nelson Agholor all pre-season and now it seems he's in line for the starting slot position with Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith on the outside. Matthews should step into the starting lineup in Buffalo and will see boost in fantasy value.

Bills ready to sign WR Anquan Boldin
One-year deal
By: Doug Orth | Mon Aug 7, 11:23 am

Buffalo Bills
Bills are giving WR Anquan Boldin a one-year, $2.75 million deal, that includes $1.25 million in incentives, per source. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Bills needed an other veteran receiving option and they found their man. Boldin will likely start opposite Sammy Watkins and should give the offense a stable presence. His signing dings the fantasy value of rookie WR Zay Jones but won't drain any targets from Watkins. Buffalo remains a run-first offense so Boldin should be viewed as a TD-dependent WR4.

Lions direct two-TE sets, could benefit Eric Ebron
Daniel Fells handling blocking duties in scheme
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Aug 1, 8:50 am

Detroit Lions
Even with Eric Ebron out with a hamstring injury, the Lions have spent significant time with two tight ends on the field thus far in training camp. Darren Fells and Cole Wick joined Golden Tate and Marvin Jones in the first play of full-team drills each of the last two days, and Fells had a standout practice today, making several tough catches in traffic. (Detroit Free Press)

FFToday's Take: Fells was signed as a free agent in the spring largely for his blocking ability to beef up the run game, and Anquan Boldin was let go. A shift to two-tight end personnel could free up more opportunities for Ebron, who remains a back-end TE1 with upside.

Boldin to visit Bills on Monday
Former Lions WR still looking for a home
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Jul 21, 2:00 pm

NFL
Source: Free-agent WR Anquan Boldin will visit the Buffalo Bills on Monday. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Boldin has kept a low profile this off-season but has expressed his interest to be in the "right situation". Now that training camps are getting ready to start, Boldin is ramping his interest in finding a new home.
