News From The Past 90 Days
Dwayne Bowe agrees to terms with Browns
Two-year deal
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Mar 19, 2:45 pm

Cleveland Browns
The Browns have agreed to terms on a two-year deal with former Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe, a league source confirmed for Northeast Ohio Media Group. The eight-year veteran of the Chiefs, 30, visited the Browns Saturday and Sunday. (Cleveland Plain Dealer)

FFToday's Take: This is a logical destination for Bowe as the Browns are void of receiving options with Josh Gordon facing a year-long suspension and TE Jordan Cameron now in Miami. Bowe's fantasy stats have declined every year since his high-water mark in 2010 where he posted 206.6 FPTs on a 72-1162-15 line. Bowe and Brian Hartline are penciled in as the top two receivers with Bowe's fantasy ceiling topping out as a WR3.

Chiefs release Dwayne Bowe

By: Mike Krueger | Thu Mar 12, 2:00 pm

Kansas City Chiefs
Dwayne Bowe’s eight-year tenure as a Chief has come to an end, as the team made news of Bowe’s release official on Thursday. Bowe, a 30-year-old receiver whose salary cap number is $14 million for 2015, has averaged 58 catches and 713 yards in his two seasons under coach Andy Reid. (Kansas City Star)

FFToday's Take: The signing of Jeremy Maclin yesterday and Bowe's huge cap number for 2015 made him expendable. If he's designated a post-June 1st cut, Bowe would count $9 million over the next two years. Bowe should have no trouble finding a new team albeit at a reduced salary. Given the right situation, he could have WR3 fantasy value in 2015.

Jeremy Maclin reunites with Andy Reid
Fantasy value takes a hit
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Mar 11, 1:21 pm

Kansas City Chiefs
Jeremy Maclin officially reunites with Andy Reid and returns to Missouri. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports that the 26-year-old's contract with the Kansas City Chiefs is for five years and $55 million dollars. (NFL.com)

FFToday's Take: The Chiefs will need to clear some cap space which could mean the release of WR Dwayne Bowe. Maclin missed 2013 with a knee injury then posted his first 1000-yd season last year in Chip Kelly's high-volume offense. Maclin may be the Chiefs No.1 wide receiver but he'll get no such volume in Kansas City. Andy Reid's offense doesn't typically favor one target, as a result Maclin's fantasy value takes a hit. Low-end WR2 will likely be Maclin's value this summer.

Chiefs expected to part ways with Bowe
Scheduled to make $10.75 million this year
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Mar 5, 10:04 am

Kansas City Chiefs
One player not yet on the free agent market: Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe. The expectation is that he will be, unless Chiefs can trade him. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: It's difficult to envision anyone trading for Bowe given his contract ($10.75 million owed in 2015) and the Chiefs would be eating a total of $9 million over the next two years if he's designated a post-June 1 cut. The Chiefs have already released WR Donnie Avery, WR A.J. Jenkins and TE Anthony Fasano.

Chiefs release receivers Avery, Jenkins
Kansas City expected to re-work receiving corps
By: Mike Krueger | Tue Feb 17, 1:30 pm

Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs officially began their remolding of their 2015 roster on Tuesday, as the team formally announced the release of receivers Donnie Avery and A.J. Jenkins on the eve of the annual scouting combine. By releasing both, the Chiefs created approximately $4.8 million in 2015 cap room. (Kansas City Star)

FFToday's Take: No Chiefs receiver finished in the fantasy top 60 at the position in 2014. Dwayne Bowe led all Chiefs receivers with 754 yards and he may be a salary cap casualty as well. Bowe is due $11 million next season.
