| Rodgers to be evaluated Wednesday -- Tue Dec 10 1:00 pm --|
Packers QB to work out Tuesday
|McCarthy said Monday that Aaron Rodgers has not been cleared for the Cowboys game and that backup Matt Flynn would be prepped to be the starter. Rodgers will step up his rehabilitation program Tuesday and undergo an evaluation Wednesday morning to see whether his left collarbone is healed enough for him to play. (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)|
FF Today's Take: It didn't appear that Rodgers was close to playing last week. Rodgers owners should have plan B in place as Matt Flynn will likely get the start against the Cowboys.

Matt Flynn will start
|Aaron Rodgers declared OUT for the Packers. (Tyler Dunne)|
FF Today's Take: Matt Flynn will get the start against the Falcons and even against a suspect secondary, Flynn will be nothing more than a QB2. Rodgers return this season is still in question given the Packers have a very slim chance to make the playoffs.
| Rodgers likely to miss fifth game -- Thu Dec 5 2:10 pm --|
QB in pads for first time since shoulder injury
|With Aaron Rodgers likely to miss his fifth consecutive game with the fractured left collarbone he suffered Nov. 4 - Rodgers underwent x-rays and a CT scan earlier this week and the scan did not result in him being medically cleared for game action, although he did practice Wednesday on a limited basis - Matt Flynn is expected to get the chance to redeem himself after a horrendous Thanksgiving Day showing.
The Packers have not officially ruled Rodgers out, but that word could come as early as Friday. (ESPN Wisconsin)|
FF Today's Take: ESPN reporter Rob Demovsky tweeted Thursday that Rodgers was in pads for the first time since the injury, so Week 15 appears to be a realistic date for a return. Owners should have a clear picture of Rodgers' status for this week no later than Friday or Saturday.
| Rodgers not cleared to play -- Tue Dec 3 6:00 pm --|
Not yet ruled out for Week 14
|The Green Bay Packers plan to play quarterback Aaron Rodgers whenever he is cleared, but that has not happened yet. Coach Mike McCarthy said Tuesday that team doctors have not given Rodgers the OK to return for game action, but they have not ruled him out yet for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. (ESPN)|
FF Today's Take: Rodgers is desperate to get back from his collarbone injury but Matt Flynn will take the first team reps in practice on Wednesday. Rodgers' owners should continue to hang onto the star QB and hope he's available for Week 15 and beyond.
| Matt Flynn to start for Packers -- Wed Nov 27 12:20 pm --|
Rodgers ruled out
|Packers coach Mike McCarthy declared Matt Flynn as his starting quarterback for tomorrow in the NFC North matchup at Detroit.
(Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)|
FF Today's Take: Aaron Rodgers (shoulder) is still a week away from returning to action. Flynn has a decent matchup against the Lions defense that is in the bottom third against the pass.
|Packers sign QB Matt Flynn -- Mon Nov 11 8:00 pm --|
Will backup Tolzien in Week 11
|The Packers have chosen their backup quarterback and it's going to be Matt Flynn.
An NFL source said that Flynn was about to sign a new contract and begin work familiarizing himself with the Packers offense.
Flynn's workout, coach Mike McCarthy said earilier in the day, went well.
(Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)|
FF Today's Take: This makes sense as Flynn and the Packers are familiar with each other. Seneca Wallace injured his groin in the first quarter against the Eagles. Flynn will serve as Scott Tolzien's backup in Week 11.
| EJ Manuel cleared for return -- Mon Nov 4 11:10 am --|
Bills expected to get rookie QB back for Week 10
|Buffalo Bills quarterback EJ Manuel has been cleared by doctors to return from a knee injury that has sidelined the rookie for more than a month. Manuel will practice this week but the decision to play Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers remains up to coach Doug Marrone, the quarterback said. (ESPN)|
FF Today's Take: Manuel suffered a sprained LCL in his right knee in an Oct. 3. The Bills released QB Matt Flynn today which is a sign that they expect Manuel to be ready in Week 10.
| Bills starting QB unclear -- Wed Oct 30 11:55 am --|
Jeff Tuel takes first team reps
|Undrafted rookie Jeff Tuel was taking the first-team snaps at quarterback today as the Buffalo Bills began on-field preparation for Sunday's game against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. Thaddeus Lewis was not on the practice field. Lewis took a severe shot to the ribs at the start of Sunday's game in New Orleans, although he played the entire game. (Buffalo News)|
FF Today's Take: Matt Flynn took second team reps and head coach Doug Marrone declined to name a starter for Week 9.
| Bills sign QB Matt Flynn -- Mon Oct 14 1:00 pm --|
QB carousel continues in Buffalo
|The Buffalo Bills signed quarterback Matt Flynn on Monday.
The Bills plan to sign Matt Flynn, who struggled in his brief time with the Raiders this season before he was released.
Flynn was in Buffalo on Sunday, before quarterback Thaddeus Lewis suffered a right foot injury in an overtime loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Lewis was starting in place of rookie EJ Manuel, who is expected to miss several weeks with a knee injury. (ESPN)|
FF Today's Take: For now, it appears the injury to Lewis doesn't appear serious and he has a good chance of playing in Week 7. Even if Flynn plays he shouldn't be anywhere near your starting lineup.
|Raiders release Matt Flynn -- Mon Oct 7 3:45 pm --|
Dumped six months after he was acquired via trade
|The Oakland Raiders have released backup quarterback Matt Flynn.
Oakland gave up two draft picks to acquire Flynn from Seattle in the offseason and then signed him to a contract with $6.5 million in guaranteed money. However, Flynn disappointed throughout his short tenure in Oakland, losing the starting job to Terrelle Pryor in training camp and then falling to third on the depth chart behind Matt McGloin last week. (SI.com)|
FF Today's Take: Flynn launched himself into instant fame in the final game of the 2011-12 season for the Packers after throwing for 480 yards and six touchdowns, but has essentially had the misfortune of keeping the seat warm for two underappreciated quarterbacks in Russell Wilson and Pryor. To be fair, he was awful in his only real action as a Raider in Week 4. It is possible he could be headed back to Green Bay to serve as Aaron Rodgers' backup again.
| Pryor to start, Flynn third string -- Wed Oct 2 1:00 pm --|
Matt McGloin will backup Pryor
|Terrelle Pryor will start at quarterback for the Oakland Raiders on Sunday night against the San Diego Chargers, coach Dennis Allen said Wednesday. Undrafted rookie Matt McGloin is the new backup. Matt Flynn has been demoted to third string. (ESPN)|
FF Today's Take: Fantasy owners can count on Pryor in the late Sunday night game (11:35 PM ET) and he'll have a great matchup against the Chargers who lead league in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks.
| Flynn expected to start for Raiders -- Sun Sep 29 9:15 am --|
|Oakland Raiders quarterback Matt Flynn will start Sunday against the Washington Redskins, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Terrelle Pryor, who is the Raiders' leading rusher through three games with 198 yards, passed his final concussion protocol test Friday morning. He practiced the past two days, but the Raiders decided to go with Flynn, who will make his first start of the season Sunday. (ESPN)|
FF Today's Take: Reportedly, the Raiders decided to go with Pryor but late last night changed their mind and will go with Flynn at QB against the Redskins.
| Pryor misses practice Wednesday -- Wed Sep 25 2:00 pm --|
|Terrelle Pryor is not at practice today. (Steve Corkran via Twitter)|
FF Today's Take: As expected, Pryor is going through the concussion protocol this week. He's got a favorable matchup against the Redskins defense if he can get on the field. Matt Flynn would start if Pryor can't go.
| Pryor's status uncertain -- Tue Sep 24 2:30 pm --|
Raiders preparing for Pryor and Flynn starting for now
|Quarterback Terrelle Pryor seems intent upon a quick return from the concussion he suffered, based on a series of Tweets he fired off Tuesday morning. “I’m ready to go,” Pryor said via Twitter. He also said, “I feel great, by the way. Thanks for the concern. Go Raiders!” Regardless how Pryor feels, he isn’t allowed to practice or play in a game again until he passes the league-mandated protocol for players that suffered a concussion. (Contra Costa Times)|
FF Today's Take: We won't get a good handle on Pryor's status until he goes through concussion tests on Wednesday. It's likely he'll miss practice tomorrow with Matt Flynn getting first team reps.
