2016 Outlook
Depth Chart
From top 10 in 2014, to barely top 50 in 2015, last season was a long one for Forsett and his owners. Forsett was always a great bet to be over drafted based on his previous year production, but he was on his way to a respectable year even before going down with a gruesome arm injury in the 10th game. On pace for a 225-1025-3 line on the ground, and 50 catches, Forsett could have been a least in RB2 territory by season’s end, but there is very little about his 2016 situation that makes him a thrilling addition to a fantasy squad.

Let’s face facts. Forsett is an aging vet that was a career change-of-pace back until his 2014 breakout. If you caught lighting in a bottle that year, congrats. If you draft Forsett expecting that to happen again, watch out for lighting striking you. He’s not built for 200-plus touches , let alone 200-plus carries and the Ravens recognize this. Young “Buck” Javorius Allen and 4th round rookie Kenneth Dixon should do a majority of the heavy lifting on the ground, and allow Forsett to be fresher and more effective as the season wears on. I’m going to guess Forsett holds the title of starting running back in name alone, and ends up as nothing more than a FLEX option or bye week fill in this season. Forsett’s low ceiling make him an extremely underwhelming fantasy prospect and not a player I want to invest heavily in.

Injury Justin Forsett expected to play for Broncos
Denver running game in need of help
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Dec 7, 8:00 pm

Denver Broncos
No. 3 running back Kapri Bibbs was put on season-ending injured reserve Monday with a high ankle sprain. So the Broncos snagged Justin Forsett off the NFL waiver wire after Detroit cut him Saturday. “He can help us quick,” Kubiak said, adding that he expects Forsett will play Sunday at Tennessee. “We need somebody to step in and contribute. It was a blessing he was let go the week before what we just went through.” (Denver Post)

FFToday's Take: Forsett is familiar with Kubiak's system from their days together in Houston and Baltimore. He should immediately step into a timeshare with Devontae Booker. Forsett is definitely someone RB-needy fantasy owners can scoop up off the waiver wire.

Injury Zach Zenner, Justin Forsett to share workload
Dwayne Washington not expectedt to play
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Oct 16, 7:15 am

Detroit Lions
Lions' RB Dwayne Washington, listed as questionable with ankle injury, will not play today, per source. Zach Zenner and Justin Forsett carry (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Lions are depleted at running back with Theo Riddick (ankle) and now Washington (ankle) ruled out. Neither Zenner or Forsett are fantasy options. Golden Tate might be used a bit more in the short passing game as a result.

Dwayne Washington and Justin Forsett next up

Detroit Lions
Lions RB Theo Riddick out Sunday. Justin Forsett could get quick work in Detroit. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Riddick missed practice all week with an ankle injury. It's a big loss for Matthew Stafford and the passing game that will also be without Eric Ebron. Expect Dwayne Washington (questionable) and newly signed Justin Forsett to share backfield duties. Neither are recommended fantasy options.

Ravens release RB Justin Forsett
Kenneth Dixon set to make his debut Week 5
By: Mike Krueger | Tue Oct 4, 1:00 pm

Baltimore Ravens
Two days after deactivating Justin Forsett and one day after coach John Harbaugh was non-committal about Forsett’s future, the Ravens parted ways with the veteran running back. The organization informed Forsett of his release on Tuesday. (Baltimore Sun)

FFToday's Take: Forsett was released prior to Week 1 in a move to the help the team with the salary cap. This time it's permanent. With Forsett out, Terrance West and rookie Kenneth Dixon are the frontrunners to be fantasy relevant with Javorius Allen filling a change of pace role.

Injury Terrance West to start for Ravens
Forsett benched
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Oct 2, 8:15 am

Baltimore Ravens
A game-day stunner: The Ravens are benching starting RB Justin Forsett, going younger in the backfield. Expect Terrance West to start. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Ravens run game has been dismal over the first three weeks. West is worth of Flex consideration against the Raiders. There's a chance Javorius Allen could be active for the first time this season.
