Not only has Pollard been a consistent force to start the season
with four double-digit scoring performances in five games, he now
becomes the lead dog in the backfield with Tyjae Spears set to miss
some time with a hamstring injury. While he hasn’t hit 100 yards
yet, Pollard has been a valuable multi-format asset and faces a
Bills defense giving up the 4th most fantasy points to running backs.
After struggling in Weeks 3 and 4, Dobbins bounced back in Week
6 with 96 yards and a score against Denver. With Gus Edwards on
IR, look for the Chargers to run Dobbins into the ground against
a Cardinal defense that has struggled to slow down strong running
games. I’m not sure how many 25-carry games he can handle, but
we might find out!
Bigsby has looked like the best back on the team for the better
part of the last month, so his ascension to the starting lineup
becomes complete with Travis Ettiene set to miss significant time
with a hamstring injury. Not nearly the receiver Ettiene is, Bigsby
will be a better play in standard leagues, but should have enough
chances on the ground in a game the Jags should be able to get
and keep a lead in.
While it’s a good sign he’s gotten in some early week practice
time, it remains to be seen just how healthy his hip is. This
offense runs much more efficiently with Jones in the backfield,
but I expect a bigger timeshare than normal with Ty Chandler.
The matchup also stinks, with the Lions yielding the 4th fewest
fantasy points to the position and that’s with KWIII’s 3-touchdown
game in Week 4.
The tables have turned in the Bengal backfield, as Moss was in on
a season low 45% of the snaps in Week 6, while Chase Brown went
for a season high 62%. Moss is much less efficient, and athletically
gifted, and any dip in volume is a crushing blow to his fantasy
value. Moss has quickly gone from a decent to risky FLEX play.
Williams had seemingly turned the corner in Weeks 4 and 5, as
he went for 138 rushing yards on a 4.7 yards-per-carry average.
Then Week 6 happened, and the doubts continued to swirl. With
Sean Peyton expressing a desire to see more of rookie Audric Estime,
trusting Willams anywhere in your lineup becomes nearly impossible.
