As I said in the reason to sit Myles Gaskin, the strategy to
attack the Seattle defense is through the air (allowing 73.2 FPts/G
to opposing wideouts). And while DeVante Parker is an obvious
must start, if you are looking for a sleeper pick, the answer
comes from either Preston Williams or Isaiah Ford. I’m choosing
Williams because he’s averaging a team-leading 14.8 yards per
catch and could explode for a long one. He’s off to a slow start
after returning from a season-ending knee injury in 2019, but
this could be his breakout game.
The Dallas pass defense is the elixir to any sickly passing offense.
So Baker Mayfield and his receiving corps, mainly Odell Beckham
Jr. and Jarvis Landry should see better numbers in this one. Knowing
that OBJ has always beaten up on the Cowboys (477 yards and five
TDs in seven games with NYG), the defense will double him and
leave Landry one-on-one. I’m looking for at least eight
targets, 90+ yards and a touchdown catch.
Editor's Note: Lazard
has been declared OUT with a core muscle injury.
Lazard exploded for six catches, 146 yards and a score last
week while No.1 receiver Davante Adams was sidelined by injury,
but even if Adams returns I like Lazard in Week 4. Not to duplicate
last weekend, but to still put up solid numbers against a horrible
Falcons secondary. The Falcons allow 47.6 FPts/G to opposing wideouts
(third worst) having allowed two wide receivers in each of the
first three games to produce double-digit fantasy points. Now,
in addition to CB A.J. Terrell (Covid-19), the Atlanta secondary
has lost CB Darqueze Dennard (hamstring). Rodgers and Co. should
have a field day. Get in on the fun with Lazard.
The Kansas City offense and Patrick (not Pat) Mahomes gets all
the attention, and rightfully so, but the Chiefs defense is playing
pretty well too. The Chiefs pass defense is No.1 in fantasy points
allowed to wide receivers (22.9 FPts/G) allowing just one touchdown
pass and no receiver to crack the 20-point mark. Edelman disappointed
fantasy owners when he couldn’t back up his career-high
179 yards game in Week 2, the following week (2-23-0). It probably
won’t be much better this time against the tough Chiefs
defense. Edelman is no better than a high WR3/low WR2.
D.J. Chark missed Week 3 due to a chest injury and a Thursday
night game which didn’t allow time to heal. He should return
for this one, but the Bengals are a surprisingly tough team for
opposing wideouts allowing just 28.2 FPts/G (fourth-best) and
two touchdown passes. In Chark’s 2019 breakout season he
could only manage 7.3 fantasy points against Cincinnati in Week
7.
D.J. Moore fans thought he was back in form after a 13-target,
eight-catch, 120-yard game in Week 2, but the Chargers took Moore
out of the offense last Sunday. The Cardinals, who rank No.2 in
defense against wideouts, will likely continue that strategy of
rolling the defense his way and therefore I’d rather have
teammate Robby Anderson at a cheaper price.
