The BAWM - Week 10
11/8/02

Crunch time is officially here. Some teams are look to clinch, others playing from week to week to survive and then there are those who need to look to next year. I will use this week's article for my promotion of keeper leagues, as this is the time of year that many teams can lose interest since they are out of the playoffs. This scenario can badly damage a league's integrity for a few reasons. Teams could just stop putting in competitive line-ups and unfair trades are just a some ways of how a league can be ruined. That's it my plug is over. Anyway, we have only one more week of these damn byes and then we are home free.

Remember; always play your studs, unless of course injury is a concern. Good luck this week!

Best

QB Jeff Garcia vs. Kansas City
His numbers have steadily improved throughout the season. He has cut down on interceptions and has been throwing TD passes. Look for a strong game against this weak D.

QB Kerry Collins vs. Minnesota
He has cooled down since starting the season throwing like mad. Look for him to pick it up against a horrible defense.

RB Ahman Green vs. Detroit
He has 7 touchdowns in his last three games. He missed the first opportunity to play this game, which would have added to his great numbers.

RB Priest Holmes vs. San Francisco
Sore knee or not, he is coming off of a bye and should be grinding away.

WR Rod Smith vs. Oakland
Hasn't been as productive as recent years but he is getting older. This depleted defense should provide a nice setting for a good performance on Monday.

WR Corey Bradford vs. Tennessee
He has been the go to guy and the Titans haven't been able to stop anyone.

TE Todd Heap vs. Cincinnati
He is closing in on the top spot as a fantasy tight end this year. His yardage has been consistent and he has gotten into the end zone as well.

TE Frank Wycheck vs. Houston
He has been invisible in his last two games, but still has his consecutive catch streak in tact. Look for a better game this week.

Average

QB Marc Bulger vs. San Diego
The team is firing on all cylinders and he has been great as the back up. If the Jets can out up 44 points in San Diego, the Rams should do fine at home.

QB Michael Vick vs. Pittsburgh
The defense will do what they can to stop him from running, but he is talented and should find ways to move the ball.

RB Lamar Smith vs. New Orleans
Coming off of the bye, he should be rested and faces a less than impressive run defense.

RB Jamal Lewis vs. Cincinnati
He has been lackluster in his past few games, which may be the affect of missing all of last year. If there is a team to regain his run, it is this one.

WR Donald Driver vs. Detroit
Favre will be back throwing to him. He has made a name for himself this year and should be a high pick next year.

WR Tai Streets vs. Kansas City
It may just be a coincidence, but the passing game has picked up since he replaced Stokes 3 weeks ago..

TE Randy McMichael vs. New York Jets
If you are one who likes patterns here is one. In the 8 Dolphin games to date, he has scored TD on alternate games. Guess what? He didn't score last week.

TE Billy Miller vs. Tennessee
As he continues to produce and play suspect defenses, I will continue to list him as having good match ups.

Worst

QB Peyton Manning vs. Philadelphia
He threw for 300+ last week, but he will be hard pressed to do it again this week.

QB Jake Plummer vs. Seattle
This wasn't a great match up even before the loss of Boston. You may want to shove him on your bench for the remainder of the season.

RB James Mungro vs. Philadelphia
he did a nice job in emergency duty last week, but adrenaline might have had a lot to do with that. This defense should be all over him.

RB Curtis Martin vs. Miami
Are the hands changing? Jordan was impressive last week, but both will face this defense who is on a short week and yielded plenty of combined yardage to Green.

WR Randy Moss vs. New York Giants
The Giants gave up a lot of late yardage last week, but their secondary has been a bright spot this year.

WR Az-Zahir Hakim vs. Green Bay
He has a sore shoulder and Harrington has been real cold as of late.

TE Alge Crumpler vs. Pittsburgh
Since scoring in week one he has not seen the end zone. Chalk him up as one of my sleepers that is still in bed.

TE Stephen Alexander vs. St. Louis
He showed signs of breaking out last week. This week he and his team will be in St. Louis and should be in for a tough day against the rejuvenated Rams.
