The BAWM - Week 10 Recap
11/13/02

Another week gone and some predictions were good, while others not so. For those still keeping score at home, I have clinched the playoffs with a win. The team is 8-2 and I can sit back and just hope Marshall is ready for my playoffs. For others of you getting in the playoffs, you have to just hoe for no injuries and hope healing comes to any that you have sustained. Next week I will put out an article, like last year, highlighting some players you may want to look at for next year, especially if you are in a keeper league. Now lets take a look at last week.

Best

QB Jeff Garcia vs. Kansas City
(23/35, 175, I INT)
Expected more from the offense against the worst D in the league. He should bounce back.

QB Kerry Collins vs. Minnesota
(25/35, 300 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT)
This is exactly what he should have done. Good job to all of you who started him.

RB Ahman Green vs. Detroit
(12 rushes, 50 yards)
Injury forced him out early, but as you see by his replacement's numbers, he would have had a big day.

RB Priest Holmes vs. San Francisco
(11 rushes, 51 yards, 1 TD)
He did nothing in terms of receiving. This is about as close to shutting him down as possible.

WR Rod Smith vs. Oakland
(8 catches, 72 yards)
Nice game, but the team was trounced.

WR Corey Bradford vs. Tennessee
(3 catches, 22 yards)
The Titans finally found an offense they could shut down.

TE Todd Heap vs. Cincinnati
(4 catches, 65 yards)
He has been a picture of consistency this year and continues to get better.

TE Frank Wycheck vs. Houston
(1 catch, 10 yards)
Injury forced him out early as well, but not before he extended his streak.

Average

QB Marc Bulger vs. San Diego
(36/48, 453 yards, 4 TD)
Along with Maddox this week, put up the greatest fantasy numbers of the season. What was even more impressive was that Faulk was hurt and they keyed on him.

QB Michael Vick vs. Pittsburgh
(24/46, 294 yards, 1 TD, 10 rushes, 52 yards, 1 TD)
Too bad he doesn't have a win to show for this performance. Hopefully he continues his success and doesn't go the way of Culpepper.

RB Lamar Smith vs. New Orleans
(17 rushes, 80 yards, 1 TD, 4 catches, 17 yards)
Has definitely made his owners happy this year as he dispelled the notion that two years ago was a fluke.

RB Jamal Lewis vs. Cincinnati
(21 rushes, 135 yards, 2 TD)
He has probably clinched his position as a 1st or 2nd rounder next year, with a solid season.

WR Donald Driver vs. Detroit
(11 catches, 130 yards)
Didn't see the end zone but he was all over the field.

WR Tai Streets vs. Kansas City
(4 catches, 41 yards)
He has really taken advantage of his playing time and should continue in that spot for the remainder of the season.

TE Randy McMichael vs. New York Jets
(2 catches, 18 yards)
The rookie may be tiring as he failed to score and keep the alternate streak in tact. He is still going to be a good one and keep him on your radar for next season.

TE Billy Miller vs. Tennessee
(3 catches, 19 yards)
He finally slowed this past week, but he is another guy to keep an eye on for next year.

Worst

QB Peyton Manning vs. Philadelphia
(18/23, 319 yards, 3 TD)
Completely proved his critics and me wrong with this strong performance.

QB Jake Plummer vs. Seattle
(17/29, 226 yards, 2 INT)
He will probably struggle the remainder of the season with the loss of Boston.

RB James Mungro vs. Philadelphia
(28 rushes, 114 yards, 2 TD, 2 catches, 20 yards)
He had a nice homecoming as he is from Pennsylvania. He definitely showed he could carry the load in Edge's absence.

RB Curtis Martin vs. Miami
(19 rushes, 74 yards, 1 TD, 4 catches, 18 yards)
He hasn't been himself all year, but this was a nice outing against Miami. Hopefully, for his owners, he's back.

WR Randy Moss vs. New York Giants
(3 catches, 85 yards)
The yardage was nice, but 80 of it came on two consecutive plays in the 4th quarter. Prior to that he was shut down.

WR Az-Zahir Hakim vs. Green Bay
(7 catches, 143 yards, 1 TD)
The Lion's first play from scrimmage set the tone for him. He caught a 64 yard score and ended up with a nice day.

TE Alge Crumpler vs. Pittsburgh
(2 catches, 25 yards)
In such a high scoring game, you would want more from him. Has been disappointing this season.

TE Stephen Alexander vs. St. Louis
(1 catch, 12 yards)
Back to the drawing board. Was invisible again this week.
