The BAWM - Week 3
9/19/02

Can you believe it is week 3 already? It seems like just yesterday we were preparing for the draft. The injuries are starting to hit some of the top picks with guys such as Green, Martin and George among the hobbled. But the season goes on and with that I give you the Best, Average, and Worst Match-ups for the week. Another offensively productive week last week and the ball seem to be moving both on the field and in the air. My predictions have been on the mediocre side, but I hope to improve as the season goes on.

Remember; always play your studs, unless of course injury is a concern. Good luck this week!

Best

QB Tom Brady vs. Kansas City
Proving that the Pats were OK in letting Bledsoe go. Takes another step towards a repeat this week.

QB Rodney Peete vs. Minnesota
The surprise team and quarterback of the year haven't truly been tested and shouldn't have trouble throwing the ball this week.

RB Tiki Barber vs. Seattle
Thomas Jones ran all over this defense last week, even a banged up Tiki should have some nice numbers as well.

RB James Stewart vs. Green Bay
The loss of Ahman Green this week will affect the defense as well. This match up always provides excitement

WR Curtis Conway vs. Arizona
Showed he could run the trick play as well last week. Faces a secondary that has been picked apart two weeks in a row.

WR Marty Booker vs. New Orleans
He is the focal point of the passing attack and the Saints will have trouble containing him.

TE Shannon Sharpe vs. Buffalo
Coming off a nice week last week. He seems to be getting comfortable back in Denver.

TE Wesley Walls vs. Minnesota
This warrior could have a nice game against a defense that let up a ton of yardage last week.

Average

QB Brett Favre vs. Detroit
Will be forced to throw the ball more often and down the field without Green in the line-up.

QB Brian Griese vs. Buffalo
Faces a team that nearly gave up 30+ points two weeks in a row. Griese's yardage should be up this week.

RB Corey Dillon vs. Atlanta
Had good yardage numbers last week. He should keep that up and add a score as well.

RB Deuce McAllister vs. Chicago
While on the surface it looks like a tough match up, the injury to Ted Washington will prove to be a big break for the Saints.

WR Chris Chambers vs. New York Jets
I'll keep going to him, he is going to break out one of these weeks. This rivalry could be a nice place to start.

WR Keyshawn Johnson vs. St. Louis
Prime time on Monday night will provide the stage for Keyshawn to finally hit the end zone.

TE Alge Crumpler vs. Cincinnati
Just missed having two consecutive games with TD receptions. He is a viable option in the red zone.

TE Eric Johnson vs. Washington
Has improved his game and becomes another weapon available to Garcia.

Worst

QB Jake Plummer vs. San Diego
The Chargers come into the game as the toughest defense and will continue by shutting down this inconsistent offense.

QB Quincy Carter vs. Philadelphia
He should be scared while watching tapes of the complete shut down of the Washington offense last week.

RB Marshall Faulk vs. Tampa Bay
I know he is the best, but he will have to work hard for his numbers this week.

RB Priest Holmes vs. New England
This is an example of another stud that will have difficulty finding room to run. The Pats have been tough so far.

WR Donte' Stallworth vs. Chicago
The swarming Bear defense will try and give this rookie a lesson in coverage this weekend.

WR Marvin Harrison vs. Houston
Believe it or not the Houston secondary has been one of the few bright spots. Aaron Glenn has looked sharp and the Colts haven't been the same offensive power as in the past.

TE Jay Riemersma vs. Denver
Could have a lot of trouble against this tough defense that has contained two of the top offenses in the first two weeks.

TE Freddie Jones vs. San Diego
What was once one of the better tight ends has been reduced to a non-factor in his first few games in Arizona.
