| Broncos land TE Evan Engram, two-year deal $16.5 million fully guaranteed By: Mike Krueger | Mar 12 2025, 4:28 pm

Broncos are signing Evan Engram to a two-year deal worth $23 million deal, including $16.5 million fully guaranteed at signing. Denver has been seeking TE help in recent seasons and now finally has found some. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The tight end position was basically non-existent for the Broncos last season. Lucas Krull led the team with 19 receptions. Engram was limited to nine games last season with Jacksonville due to injury, but should be able to achieve mid-range TE2 fantasy value in Denver without too much trouble provided he stays healthy.

| Ravens land DeAndre Hopkins on one-year deal Hopkins will be 33 before the season begins By: Mike Krueger | Mar 11 2025, 7:05 pm

Sources: Five-time Pro-Bowl WR DeAndre Hopkins reached agreement today on a one-year, $5 million deal that could get up to $6 million with the Baltimore Ravens. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Hopkins (32) was a part time player for the Chiefs during the latter half of the 2024 season playing less than half the snaps. His fantasy impact is likely to be spotty on a team that will feature Derrick Henry, Zay Flowers and two tight ends. He'll be a late-round depth piece to your fantasy roster in 2025.

| Open QB competition in Indianapolis? Colts sign Daniel Jones to one-year deal By: Mike Krueger | Mar 11 2025, 12:11 pm

The #Colts are now preparing for an open quarterback competition between Daniel Jones and Anthony Richardson, who is healthy and has no plans to seek a trade, his agent Deiric Jackson told me.
Said Jackson: “AR will be ready to roll.” (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: The Colts signed Jones to a one-year deal today worth $14 million. Richardson was benched last season for Joe Flacco and has struggled with his mechanics and accuracy as a passer. Richardson has the legs to be a quality QB1 in fantasy but his value is on shaky ground headed into the 2025 season.

| Najee Harris signs one-year deal with Chargers Max value $9.5 million By: Mike Krueger | Mar 10 2025, 9:18 pm

Former #Steelers RB Najee Harris is signing with the #Chargers for 1-year, max value $9.5M, multiple sources tell @NFLonFOX.
Harris eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing in each of his first four seasons. A new weapon for Justin Herbert. (Jordan Schultz on X)
FFToday's Take: Najee has topped 1000 yards in each of his first four seasons in the league and now becomes the top option in the Chargers backfield with J.K. Dobbins yet to re-sign and Gus Edwards released. There's some fantasy upside here depending on who the Chargers add to the running back room via free agency or the draft.
| RB Javonte Williams signs one-year deal with Dallas $3 million By: Mike Krueger | Mar 10 2025, 7:15 pm

Former #Broncos RB Javonte Williams is signing a one-year, $3 million deal with the #Cowboys, per sources. Max $3.5M with incentives. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: Given that Rico Dowdle is an unrestricted free agent, Williams becomes the leader in the clubhouse for carries in Dallas in 2025. Although, it's likely that Dowdle or another running back is signed in free agency. Williams was part of three-headed committee in Denver last season, finishing 43rd in fantasy points per game.

| Jets sign QB Justin Fields, two-year deal $30M guaranteed By: Mike Krueger | Mar 10 2025, 2:39 pm

The #Jets are signing QB Justin Fields, per me and
@TomPelissero, as Gang Green gets a new starter. Fields says goodbye to Pittsburgh after 1 year.
He gets a 2-year deal worth $40M with $30M guaranteed in a deal done by @DavidMulughetaof @AthletesFirst. (Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: The Jets have parted ways with Aaron Rodgers after two years and will try their luck with Fields who lost his job as the starter with Steelers last season to Russell Wilson. The Jets have viable weapons at running back (Breece Hall) and receiver (Garrett Wilson) and Fields is capable of providing fantasy points with his legs. He'll be a viable QB2 assuming he lands the starting gig in 2025.

| Sam Darnold signs three-year deal with Seattle $55 million guaranteed By: Mike Krueger | Mar 10 2025, 2:22 pm

ESPN sources: Former Vikings QB Sam Darnold reached agreement today on a three-year, $110.5 million contract including $55 million guaranteed with the Seattle Seahakws. Seattle has its successor to Geno Smith. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Seattle recently shipped Geno Smith off to the Raiders in return for a third round pick. Now they bring in Darnold who is coming off his season a pro (4319-35-12, 212-1). They only problem is, he won't have Kevin O'Connell orchestrating the offense and Justin Jefferson catching passes. Darnold will be working with Jaxson Smith-Njigba and... well... some other others wide receivers to be named later.
| Chiefs add Elijah Mitchell to running back room One-year deal By: Mike Krueger | Mar 10 2025, 12:24 pm

Sources: The #Chiefs are signing RB Elijah Mitchell worth up to $3.5M. (Jordan Schultz on X)
FFToday's Take: After three years in the league, Mitchell has yet to top 11 games played in any season, missing time last year with a hamstring injury. Isiah Pacheco missed most of last season with a fractured fibula and never regained form when he returned. Mitchell is at best a depth piece for the Chiefs and a late-round flier in fantasy drafts.

| Chris Godwin staying with Bucs, three-year deal $45 million guaranteed By: Mike Krueger | Mar 10 2025, 12:12 pm

Back to the #Bucs: Star WR Chris Godwin returns to Tampa, sources say, taking less money to stay with Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans and the rest of the gang.
He gets a 3-year, $66M deal with $45 guaranteed in a deal done by Tory Dandy of CAA. And he left a ton on the table. (Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: Godwin was limited to 7 games last season (50-576-5) due to ankle injury but is expected to be ready for Week 1. His new deal puts a damper on Jalen McMillian's ceiling but Godwin should have no trouble maintaining his WR2 value as long as he remains healthy.
| Davante Adams headed to the LA Rams Two-year deal, $26 million guaranteed By: Mike Krueger | Mar 9 2025, 6:54 pm

Six-time Pro-Bowl WR Davante Adams is signing a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams, per source.
Adams arrives at a time the Rams are preparing to move on from standout WR Cooper Kupp. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The Rams are expected to move on from Cooper Kupp (31) and in his place install a slightly older Adams (32) who finished as the WR13 last season in FPTs per game (half-ppr). It was rumored that Adams wanted to play with a west coast team, making the landing spot ideal. Give the status of Puka Nacua in the WR room, Adams could see a slight dip in production in 2025 but should hold WR value with the Rams.
| Vikings re-sign RB Aaron Jones, two-year deal $13 million guaranteed By: Mike Krueger | Mar 9 2025, 4:48 pm

Minnesota is getting back its back: Aaron Jones is re-signing with the Vikings on a two-year, $20 million deal that includes $13 million guaranteed, per sources. The deal was negotiated by Drew Rosenhaus. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Jones (30), finished as the RB16 last season in total Half-PPR points but was slightly less valuable (RB20) on a weekly basis. He should once again be the lead back for the Vikings with a slight risk of fewer touches given his age.

| Xavier Worthy arrested on felony domestic violence charge Chiefs could have two WRs suspended in 2025 By: Mike Krueger | Mar 8 2025, 10:58 am

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy was arrested Friday night in Williamson County, Texas, on a charge of assault of a family or house member and impeding the breathing or circulation. The Chiefs said they were aware of Worthy's arrest and gathering information.
In Texas, impeding as family member's breathing or circulation is a third-degree felony and punishable by two to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: The Chiefs are likely to be dealing with a suspension of Rashee Rice in 2025 due to his involvement in a multi-car wreck back in March of 2024. Who knows what kind of punishment Worthy will get from the league, but it's possible the Chiefs could be without their top two receivers for a portion of the upcoming season.

| Geno Smith traded to the Raiders for a 3rd round pick Smith has one year remaining on current deal By: Mike Krueger | Mar 7 2025, 6:56 pm

Blockbuster: The #Seahawks are trading two-time Pro Bowl QB Geno Smith to the #Raiders for a 2025 third-round pick, sources tell The Insiders.
It’s a reunion for Pete Carroll and Smith, who also is expected to get a new contract. And Seattle will need a new QB. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: Geno (34) has one year ($31 million) remaining on his current deal. Presumably a step up from the riff raff the Raiders have dealing with a quarterback the last few years, Geno is likely a bridge until the Raiders find a young QB in the couple of drafts. The Seahawks are now in need of a starter and could turn to free agent Sam Darnold. They have already cut WR Tyler Lockett and are looking to trade WR DK Metcalf.

| Jaguars release TE Evan Engram Jacksonville saves $6 million against the cap By: Mike Krueger | Mar 6 2025, 5:48 pm

The Jaguars have released TE Evan Engram, per a league source. (Michael DiRocco on X)
FFToday's Take: Another cost-cutting move by the Jaguars who clear $6 million in cap space with this transaction. The team is reshaping their receiving corps with Engram (30 years old) and Christian Kirk now departing. Engram managed to play in just 9 games last season after turning his best season as a pro back in 2023 (114-963-4). Brenton Strange is now in the driver's seat to be the starting TE in Jacksonville for 2025.
| Jaguars trade Christian Kirk to Texans Jacksonville gets 2026 7th round pick By: Mike Krueger | Mar 6 2025, 4:16 pm

The Houston Texans are finalizing a trade to acquire Jaguars WR Christian Kirk, per sources. While the Jaguars were planning on cutting Christian Kirk, they now will get back a 2026 seventh round pick from the Texans, per source. (Dianna Russini on X)
FFToday's Take: The Jags were set to release Kirk but found a trade partner instead. Houston will most likely be without Tank Dell in 2025 as he recovers from a bad knee injury suffered in late December of 2024. Kirk will likely step into a starting slot role and it remains to be seen if they bring back Stefon Diggs to work on the outside. Kirk will be on the late-round wide receiver list in redraft leagues this Summer.

| Seahawks open to trading WR DK Metcalf Receiver has one year left on current contract By: Mike Krueger | Mar 5 2025, 1:12 pm

Two-time Pro Bowl WR DK Metcalf has requested a trade and the #Seahawks have agreed to explore options, sources tell me and
@RapSheet.
Days before free agency, the 27-year-old Metcalf immediately becomes the top receiver available. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: Metcalf likely wasn't happy with his role last season which saw him slip behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba as the team's No.1 wideout. He still has one year left on his current deal and reportedly would like re-negotiate a longer deal with whatever team he lands with. With the release of Tyler Lockett, the Seahawks will be revamping key pieces to their wide receiver room in 2025.
| Jaguars expected to release WR Christian Kirk Jaguars save over $10.4 million against the cap By: Mike Krueger | Mar 5 2025, 12:47 pm

Jaguars plan to release veteran WR Christian Kirk, per source. Releasing Christian Kirk will save the Jaguars over $10.4 million against the cap. Kirk now will become a free agent in an increasingly crowded WR market. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Kirk was limited to eight games last season after suffering a broken collarbone in late October. At 28 years old, he still has some value in the league and could be a nice fantasy asset depending on his landing spot. Brian Thomas Jr. has taken over the lead wideout role in Jacksonville.
| Seahawks release veteran WR Tyler Lockett Due $17 million in 2025 By: Mike Krueger | Mar 5 2025, 12:37 pm

Seahawks are releasing an all-time franchise great, wide receiver Tyler Lockett, who piled up 8,594 receiving yards and 61 touchdowns across 10 seasons in Seattle. The Seahawks are opting to release Lockett rather than pay him his $17 million salary for this season, including a $5.3 million roster bonus due March 16. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: This move was expected as Jaxon Smith-Njigba took over the No.1 receiving role for the Seahawks last season. Lockett is 32 years old and will likely have to settle if a reduced role for whatever teams he lands with in 2025. Perhaps reuniting with HC Pete Carrol in Las Vegas?

| Raiders expected to release QB Gardner Minshew Has $3.16 million in fully guaranteed money left on deal By: Mike Krueger | Mar 5 2025, 10:29 am

The #Raiders informed QB Gardner Minshew they’ll release him when the new league year begins next Wednesday, per sources.
Minshew has 46 career starts and is still only 28 years old. An experienced option available. Minshew has $3.16 million in fully guaranteed money left on the two-year, $25M deal he signed with Las Vegas last March. But another new #Raiders regime is going another direction at QB. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: Minshew played in 10 games last season as the Raiders waffled between him and Aidan O'Connell with predictable mediocrity. Minshew is best served as a backup in the league and holds very little fantasy value even when he does make a start.
| Eagles give Saquon Barkley two-year contract extension $36M fully guaranteed By: Mike Krueger | Mar 4 2025, 2:34 pm

From our breaking news segment: The #Eagles rewarded RB Saquon Barkley with a contract extension. Details:
-- 2 years, $41.2M
-- $36M fully guaranteed at signing and highest 2- and 3-year cash in NFL history.
-- $15M in incentives is still live from last year.
-- First $20M RB. (Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: Barkley rushed for 2000 yards in his first season with the Eagles and finished first in fantasy points per game (20.9) among all running backs in 2024. At 28 years old an no threat to his workload, Barkley will be one of the first picks in redraft leagues this Summer.

| Jets will release Davante Adams No guaranteed money remaining on contract By: Mike Krueger | Mar 4 2025, 1:16 pm

Jets are releasing WR Davante Adams, per source. The Jets will save $29.9M in salary cap space by releasing Davante Adams. He had no guaranteed money remaining on his contract. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Adams is 32 years old but the free agent market is so thin at the position he will likely have multiple teams interested in his services. He finished 13th in fantasy points per game (half PPR) last season and is rumored to be wanting a landing spot on the west coast with or without Aaron Rodgers.

| Tee Higgins gets the franchise tag again Higgins would make $26.2 million if he plays under the tag By: Mike Krueger | Mar 3 2025, 2:34 pm

Bengals placed the $26.2 million franchise tag on WR Tee Higgins. This marks the second straight year that the Bengals have used their franchise tag on Higgins. After designating Higgins as their franchise player for the second straight year, the Bengals said they did so with the “intent of continuing to work toward a long-term deal in Cincinnati.” (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: It's been speculated that the Bengals would have a hard time paying both Ja'Maar Chase and Higgins this off-season, which would likely result in Higgins playing elsewhere in 2025. For now it seems the Bengals are trying to get both wideouts a new deal. Chase will command one of the biggest non-quarterback salaries in the league. The franchise tag on Higgins gives both sided until July 15th to get a long-term deal done.

| 49ers trade Deebo to Commanders for 5th round pick Deebo in final year of contract By: Mike Krueger | Mar 1 2025, 7:36 pm

More about San Francisco 49ers agreeing to send standout wide receiver Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders in exchange for a fifth-round pick. Washington is taking on the remainder of Samuel’s contract and paying his full $17.55 million salary for the 2025 season, per sources. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: This trade deal can't be finalized until March 12th and Deebo is on the final year of his contract. Jayden Daniels gets a much needed offensive weapon to go along with Terry McLaurin, although a good chunk of Daniel's fantasy value comes with his own rushing ability so it's reasonable to question just how much this will improve the quarterback's fantasy value. This move will leave San Francisco with Brandon Aiyuk (knee), Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall as their top three receivers. Aiyuk's knee injury occurred in mid-October making him questionable to play Week 1.

| Bill give 4-year contract extension to WR Khalil Shakir $32M guaranteed By: Mike Krueger | Feb 25 2025, 12:45 pm

The #Bills and WR Khalil Shakir agreed to terms on a 4-year contract extension worth up to $60.2M, including $32M guaranteed at signing, per me and @TomPelissero.
(Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: Shakir posted a 76-821-4 line in 2024 becoming the most stable fantasy asset in the Bills receiving group. The offense worked without an alpha at receiver and we've it's unlikely Shakir's role will change much regardless of who is brought in this off-season at the position. Weekly WR3 value is the norm here.

| Dolphins moving on from RB Raheem Mostert 33-year-old RB looking for a new team in 2025 By: Mike Krueger | Feb 14 2025, 2:03 pm

Looks like my client Raheem Mostert will be playing elsewhere next season. Very thankful for his time with the Miami Dolphins, and this gives them a chance to get younger and gives him a chance to pursue a ring elsewhere. (Brett Tessler on X)
FFToday's Take: Mostert's agent dropped the news that his client won't be back in Miami next season. Mostert played in 12 games in 2024 but his playing time was reduced towards the end of the season, failing to reach 10 carries in his last seven games. The Dolphins will move forward with De'Von Achane, Jaylen Wright and likely a third back to be determined. Mostert will turn 33 in April and doesn't figure to have a big role with any team he lands with in 2025.

| Jets moving on from Aaron Rodgers Team will take $49 million dead money hit, likely spread over 2 years By: Mike Krueger | Feb 13 2025, 11:13 am

Jets announced that they "informed Aaron Rodgers that we will be moving in a different direction at quarterback." The Jets will face $49M in dead money when they eventually release Aaron Rodgers. They can take the full hit this year or, more likely, designate him as a post-6/1 cut.
As a 6/1 cut, they’d carry his $23.5M cap hit until June 1, when it drops to $14M-saving $9.5M. However, they’d then absorb a $35M cap hit in 2025 (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Rodgers is now 41 years old and will have to decide if you wants to continue playing or call it a career. He finished as the QB24 in fantasy points per game this past season and won't have much fantasy value in 1QB leagues regardless of what team he lands with in 2025.
| Deebo looking to move on from San Francisco 49ers granted Deebo permission to find a trade partner By: Mike Krueger | Feb 9 2025, 11:37 am

The 49ers have granted Deebo Samuel and his agent Tory Dandy permission to find a trade partner for the wide receiver, Samuel told ESPN. This comes after Samuel asked San Francisco to trade him during the players’ exit meetings after the season.
“It was a hard conversation to have with Kyle (Shanahan) because of the relationship that we have,” Samuel said today. “But I have to do what’s best. I’m more than thankful for the Niners giving me the opportunity of a lifetime, but now I think it’s best that we find another team.” (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Deebo has only topped 1000 yards receiving once in his career but has been involved enough in the rushing game to make him a borderline WR1/2 over the last few years. However, 2024 was a supreme disappointment, ranking 48th in fantasy points per game (half-ppr) with just 51 receptions and 4 TDs. Deebo joins Cooper Kupp as veteran wide receivers on the trade market.

| Myles Garrett asks to be traded Six-time Pro Bowler has made playoffs twice in eight NFL seasons By: Doug Orth | Feb 4 2025, 7:15 pm

Reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year and #Browns star Myles Garrett has requested a trade. (NFL Network - Ian Rapoport)
FFToday's Take: Garrett's request comes days after GM Andrew Berry said that the Browns would not entertain any trades for the star defensive end. The 29-year-old is unlikely to be dealt considering how much draft capital the other team would likely have to give up, but his demand puts some more heat on the Browns to find some answers over the last two years of his contract. Cleveland's path to finding those answers might start with selecting Cam Ward or Shadeur Sanders in the draft at the end of April.

| Chip Kelly returning to the NFL as Raiders OC Leaves Ohio State after serving as Buckeyes' OC for a season By: Doug Orth | Feb 3 2025, 11:00 pm

Back to the NFL: Former Eagles HC Chip Kelly is being hired as the Raiders offensive coordinator. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)
FFToday's Take: The Raiders left no doubt about how much they coveted Kelly, who will receive three times the salary in Vegas ($6 million) as he was about to receive from the Buckeyes. While there is reason to be skeptical about the hire based on how his stints as the head coach in Philadelphia and San Francisco ended, Las Vegas figures to be exciting on offense for the first time in a while. Kelly loves to play with tempo and run the ball, so fantasy managers should not be afraid to target whoever is the lead runner in Vegas next season.

| Rams looking to trade Cooper Kupp $20 million salary in 2025 By: Mike Krueger | Feb 3 2025, 7:13 pm

I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships. I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA. 2024 began with one of the best training camps of my career. Preparations start now for 2025. Highly motivated, as healthy as ever, and looking forward to playing elite football for years to come. Love you guys. (Cooper Kupp on X)
FFToday's Take: Cooper Kupp was drafted by the Rams in 2017 and it appears 2024 will be he last season with them. Kupp is currently due $20 million next season and roughly the same amount in 2026. The Rams were reportedly shopping Kupp during the trade deadline but never found a deal to their liking. Free agency kicks off next month.

| Bengals' TE Erick All expected to miss 2025 season Complications from ACL injury By: Mike Krueger | Jan 28 2025, 12:53 pm

#Bengals' rookie TE Erick All Jr. is expected to miss the 2025 season due to his ACL injury suffered Nov. 3.
All's injury exposed a complicated fix from a previous ACL tear and requires two surgeries. (Paul Dehner Jr. on X)
FFToday's Take: All suffered a torn ACL on November 3rd and needs two surgeries to correctly heal his knee. He's already had one surgery and will have another in a few months. The Bengals like his blocking ability in the run game but it remains to be seen how much he'll be involved as a receiver. Either way, we're going to have to wait until the 2026 season to find out. Mike Gesicki was used this season as the receiving tight end but will be a free agent this off-season.

| Pete Carroll back in the league: Raiders new HC Three-year deal By: Mike Krueger | Jan 24 2025, 10:31 am

Just in: Pete Carroll and the Raiders now have reached agreement on a three-year deal with a fourth-year team option, sources tell ESPN.
Another veteran legendary coach has returned. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: At age 73, Carroll is back in the league ready to lead the Raiders in a tough AFC West division. Las Vegas is coming off a 4-13 season under Antonio Pierce who was let go earlier this month. The biggest task for Carroll and the Raiders is to find a young quarterback in the next two years. They have the 6th pick in the upcoming draft but there's already rumors that Russell Wilson could be a bridge option in 2025 if a young QB is out of reach.

| Jaguars land Liam Coen as new HC Former Bucs OC headed ot Jacksonville By: Mike Krueger | Jan 24 2025, 7:35 am

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen has informed the team of his intention to become the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars after a surprising twist that included him initially backing out of the interview pool, but then reconsidering the job after general manager Trent Baalke's exit. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: This will be the Jaguars fourth head coach in the last six years. It seems the firing of Baalke as GM was enough to convince Coen to take the job. He'll have a tough task attempting to turnaround a Jaguars team that finished 4-13 this season and he needs to get QB Trevor Lawrence headed in the right direction. Jacksonville has the 5th pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

| Anthony Richardson lays out offseason plans QB expects to work with same expert that helped Josh Allen By: Doug Orth | Jan 22 2025, 11:40 pm

When Anthony Richardson returns to his offseason training in Florida, he'll be working on very specific areas of improvement with his team of coaches and trainers. Among them: refining his throws on short and intermediate routes and throwing with more touch. He'll be focusing on overall technique as well, such as his sometimes-sloppy footwork. He also has plans to work with biometric expert Chris Hess, who counts Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen among his clients whose throwing motions he has helped refine. During a recent NFL Films segment, Allen called Hess "the most influential person in my mechanical career." Allen credits Hess with helping him dramatically increase his completion rate from 52.8% as a rookie to 69.2% by his third season. (ESPN.com - Stephen Holder)
FFToday's Take: Allen noted that Hess helped him realize that his hip was too often out in front of his arm when throwing, which largely contributed to how often he was inaccurate in his early years with the Bills. It should come as no surprise if Hess reaches a similar conclusion about Richardson, who is a massively talented player with relatively little football experience and poor fundamentals. The good thing about Richardson in fantasy this upcoming season is that his cost will be low enough to draft as a QB2, which should be enough to make him a huge bargain if Hess can work his magic on him.

| Cooper Kupp confirms he will play in 2025 WR coming off third straight injury-plagued season By: Doug Orth | Jan 21 2025, 11:30 pm

Cooper Kupp said Monday there is "no doubt" in his mind that he wants to play football next season and that while he "would love to be in L.A.," he has no control over what will happen this offseason.
"I feel like I've got a lot of good football left in me," Kupp said in the Rams' final open locker room session of the season. "I'll be playing football next year. That much I know."
Kupp has two years left on the contract extension he signed in 2022, with $5 million guaranteed in 2025. If the Rams cut Kupp this offseason, they will save $15 million in cash and $7.52 million against the salary cap. If the Rams release him without a post-June 1 designation, they will absorb $22.2 million in dead money due to the remaining prorated portions of his signing bonus and $5 million of his roster bonus. (ESPN.com - Sarah Barshop)
FFToday's Take: The aforementioned contract particulars suggest that if Kupp is cut, it will be as a post-June 1 designation. Another factor in the Rams' offseason decision-making with Kupp may be whether Matthew Stafford wants to keep playing. Either way, it appears Kupp is nearing the end of his time with the Rams, which likely means Los Angeles will begin prepping Jordan Whittington for a bigger role. If Kupp is cut this offseason, Whittington should be considered a major sleeper in 2025 drafts.

| Tank Dell's outlook for 2025 season in doubt Suffered serious knee injury in Week 16 loss to KC By: Doug Orth | Jan 20 2025, 5:20 pm

DeMeco Ryans says it's too early to put a timeline on whether Tank Dell will play in 2025.
He didn't want to speculate on whether they'd need to find receiver because of that. But added they'd look to improve their team in all areas. (Jonathan Alexander on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: At the very least, Dell should not be expected to play for the first half of next season. Perhaps he can play a bit role late in the season - not unlike what Tyler Higbee did for the Rams this season - but even that seems unlikely given how serious Dell's injury was. Houston will likely try hard to re-sign Stefon Diggs (ACL) and could even invest a Day 2 or early Day 3 draft pick into the position after John Metchie, Robert Woods and Xavier Hutchinson failed to distinguish themselves.

| Ben Johnson set to become Bears HC Oversaw top-five offense in his three years as Detroit OC By: Doug Orth | Jan 20 2025, 5:00 pm

Bear down: Chicago is finalizing a deal to hire Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as its next head coach, sources tell ESPN. Bears are getting their man. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)
FFToday's Take: The Bears have only had two offensive-minded head coaches since Mike Ditka was fired following the 1992 season and both of those hires - Marc Trestman and Matt Nagy - worked out poorly. It is hard to imagine Johnson going down that same road. Not only has he established himself as one of the most creative offensive minds in the league, but he will begin his Chicago tenure with a blue-chip quarterback prospect (Caleb Williams) and at least two stud receivers (D.J. Moore and Rome Odunze). Williams, in particular, should enjoy the creativity and consistency Johnson will bring to the team. Do not be surprised if Williams is a low-end fantasy QB1 as soon as next year.

| Zay Flowers misses practice Thursday Knee injury By: Mike Krueger | Jan 16 2025, 2:10 pm

Pro Bowl WR Zay Flowers is the only Ravens player not practicing Thursday.
Flowers hasn’t practiced since injuring his knee in the regular season finale 12 days ago.

FFToday's Take: Flowers missed the Ravens Wildcard game and is in danger of missing their Divisional Round matchup against the Bills. The Ravens used a run-heavy gameplan against the Steelers and could do the same this weekend if Flowers sits. We'll have another update on Flowers after practice on Friday.

| Diontae Johnson gets the ax WR lasts three weeks with Houston By: Doug Orth | Jan 14 2025, 11:55 pm

The #Texans have waived WR Diontae Johnson. (Jonathan Alexander on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Johnson was seen pouting - presumably about lack of involvement - in the team's Wild Card Round win over the Chargers. As a result, he is moving on from his fourth team in less than a year. The timing is still surprising considering the Texans need help at receiver with Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell both out for the season. After getting traded twice and waived twice in 10 months, Johnson may have no choice but to settle for a third receiver job at his next NFL stop.

| Jayden Reed not seriously hurt in Wild Card Round WR will not need surgery on his injured shoulder By: Doug Orth | Jan 13 2025, 4:20 pm

Jayden Reed says he won’t need surgery on his shoulder. “Thank God for that.” (Packers.com - Wes Hodkiewicz fun)
FFToday's Take: Reed figures to be a polarizing player in upcoming fantasy drafts. His star quickly ascended after going 64-793-8 as a rookie, but his usage dipped in a big way over the second half of this season as Green Bay became more of a run-heavy team. The primary reason why he could be a polarizing figure is because Christian Watson's knee injury will likely sideline him for most of the 2025 season, which should allow Reed more opportunities. Watson's absence alone may be enough to get Reed back into the high-end WR3 conversation.
