A.J. Green out indefinitely? Setback with left ankle injury By: Doug Orth | Nov 7 2019, 11:50 pm
A.J. Green said he will likely not make his season debut Sunday against Baltimore after his left ankle did not respond well to workouts earlier this week. Following Monday's off-week practice, Green said he experienced swelling that derailed his plans of participating in Wednesday's practice. The ninth-year receiver said he doesn't know how long he will need to stay off the ankle as he continues the rehab process. The ninth-year receiver said he's still optimistic that he can play at some point in 2019 but wouldn't feel comfortable returning to the field without being able to go through a full practice. FFToday's Take:There's really no way to know if/when Green will make his 2019 debut. It's entirely possible either he or the team opts for an IR stint. For what it's worth, Green said the swelling wasn't as severe as it was a couple of weeks ago. If that is the case, there's at least a small chance he tries to practice next week. If he does make it back soon, it's going to be hard for owners to consider him anything more than an WR2 with rookie Ryan Finley as his quarterback.
