Giants release QB Daniel Jones
Expected to clear waivers and become a free agent
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 22 2024, 11:36 am

Daniel Jones met with owner John Mara this morning. There is a ton of respect between the two men and they both reached agreement that a parting of ways is the way to go. Jones will go on waivers, but is expected to clear and then become a FA. (Jordan Schultz on X)

FFToday's Take: The Daniel Jones era with the Giants is over. He was benched prior to Week 12 in favor of Tommy DeVito which signaled his time with the team was done. Any team making a claim for him would be on the hook for his remaining 2024 salary (roughly $12 million) which isn't likely to happen. The Giants will be eating roughly $20 million in dead money with this move.
