Tee Higgins gets the franchise tag again Higgins would make $26.2 million if he plays under the tag By: Mike Krueger | Mar 3 2025, 2:34 pm
Bengals placed the $26.2 million franchise tag on WR Tee Higgins. This marks the second straight year that the Bengals have used their franchise tag on Higgins. After designating Higgins as their franchise player for the second straight year, the Bengals said they did so with the “intent of continuing to work toward a long-term deal in Cincinnati.” (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take:It's been speculated that the Bengals would have a hard time paying both Ja'Maar Chase and Higgins this off-season, which would likely result in Higgins playing elsewhere in 2025. For now it seems the Bengals are trying to get both wideouts a new deal. Chase will command one of the biggest non-quarterback salaries in the league. The franchise tag on Higgins gives both sided until July 15th to get a long-term deal done.
