TE Darren Waller comes out of retirement, headed to Miami
Giants receive late-round draft pick
By: Mike Krueger | Jul 1 2025, 11:21 am

Trade: Dolphins are trading a conditional 2026 sixth to the New York Giants for a 2027 seventh-round pick and Darren Waller. Waller is coming out of retirement after agreeing to a one-year deal with the Dolphins worth up to $5 million, per Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey. (Adam Schefter on X)

FFToday's Take: The Giants still held the rights to Waller which is why a trade was necessary. The Dolphins had a void at the position after trading Jonnu Smith to the Steelers yesterday. Waller (32) had his best season in 2020 and has battled to stay on the field ever since. He'll hold some weekly TE2 value when healthy, but will be the fourth target on the offense behind Achane, Hill and Waddle.
