Omarion Hampton headed to injured reserve
RB to miss next four games with Week 5 ankle injury
By: Doug Orth | Oct 6 2025, 6:50 pm

Los Angeles Chargers running back Omarion Hampton will be placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury, coach Jim Harbaugh said Monday. By going on IR, Hampton will miss at least the next four games. Hampton appeared to suffer the injury on a fourth-and-2 play with 1:53 remaining in the third quarter of the Chargers' 27-10 loss to the Washington Commanders on Sunday. The first-round rookie tripped over Commanders linebacker Frankie Luvu and came up limping. Hampton didn't return to the game and left the stadium with a walking boot on his left foot. FFToday's Take: The 2025 season refuses to let fantasy managers have nice things for very long. Two weeks after taking over the Chargers' backfield following Najee Harris' Achilles injury, the rookie first-rounder will be sidelined through at least Week 9. Hassan Haskins will be expected to handle the early-down duties in his absence, while Kimani Vidal should be entrusted with most of the receiving work. Considering the state of the Chargers' offensive line, both backs could struggle to maintain flex value.
