Brock Bowers likely to sit until Week 9 Raiders go on bye week after Week 7 tilt at Kansas City By: Doug Orth | Oct 13 2025, 11:20 pm
The Raiders have played without tight end Brock Bowers the last two weeks and his status for Week 7’s trip to Kansas City was a topic at head coach Pete Carroll’s Monday press conference.
Bowers is dealing with a knee injury that he suffered in Week 1 and played through for several weeks before sitting out in Week 5. On Monday, Carroll said he’s hopeful that Bowers is well enough to play against the Chiefs before adding that the team has to consider if the best long-term approach is to wait to bring him back until after their Week 8 bye. FFToday's Take:The Raiders would be lying to themselves if they believed they are ready to compete with the rest of the AFC West right now, so it appears they are making the right call in using the bye week to give Bowers enough time to get all the way back. Michael Mayer played well in Bowers' absence in Week 6 (5-50-1 on seven targets) and should be expected to play a big role again versus the Chiefs in Week 7. Consider him a solid low-end TE1 option for that contest.
