Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Rachaad White downgraded to Questionable, knee injury
Bigger roles for Chase Edmonds and Ke’Shawn Vaughn?
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 25 2023, 11:00 am

Buccaneers’ RB Rachaad White has been added to the injury report and downgraded to questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Colts due to a knee injury. (Adam Schefter on X)

FFToday's Take: There's no specifics on the injury yet, so we'll have to wait for further reports. Chase Edmonds and Ke’Shawn Vaughn would see more work if White is inactive.

Arizona Cardinals

Marquise Brown listed as Questionable, Heel injury
Missed practice Thursday and Friday
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 24 2023, 4:09 pm

Arizona Cardinals final injury report for Week 12 against the Rams. Marquise Brown officially questionable after missing back-to-back practices with a heel issue. Cards rookie Michael Wilson is OUT. (Bo Brack on X)

FFToday's Take: Brown has disappointed the last few weeks and hasn't topped 50 receiving yards since Week 5. His status will need to be watched closely this weekend as he's in danger of being on the Inactive list.

Washington Redskins

Gametime decision for RB Antonio Gibson
Toe injury
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 22 2023, 8:30 pm

#Commanders RB Antonio Gibson (questionable, toe) is a true game-time decision and will warm up on the field before the game to help determine availability. (Jeremy Fowler on X)

FFToday's Take: Gibson was limited in practice on Tuesday and Wednesday. If he's able to play, he will put a damper on the outlook for Brian Robinson Jr. who posted a 17-73-0, 7-58-0 line last week with Gibson out. We will know Gibson's true status around 3 pm Eastern.

Seattle Seahawks

Geno Smith expected to play, Walker listed as Doubtful
Zach Charbonnet expected to start
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 22 2023, 4:09 pm

Pete Carroll says he expects Geno Smith to start tomorrow vs 49ers. Looked very good throwing for the first time since the Rams game today in #Seahawks practice. @thenewstribune Kenneth Walker is not playing for #Seahawks tomorrow vs 49ers, barring a crazy turnaround before tomorrow night in his oblique strain (Greg Bell on X)

FFToday's Take: Smith missed some time in last week's game with an elbow issue but is expected to play in Week 12. Kenneth Walker is not expected to play as he deals with an oblique injury. Zach Charbonnet is set to get the start in a tough matchup the 49ers defense. He's more of an RB2 in this matchup. DK Metcalf is off the injury report and is expected to play.

Los Angeles Rams

Kyren Williams expected to return in Week 12
Rams also part with Darrell Henderson
By: Doug Orth | Nov 21 2023, 9:50 pm

Sean McVay said the Rams will get RB Kyren Williams back against the Cardinals. He's been on IR with an ankle injury. (ESPN.com - Sarah Barshop)

FFToday's Take: Darrell Henderson was waived Tuesday afternoon, suggesting the Rams are confident in his recovery. Williams was a fantasy darling before getting hurt, operating as the overall RB4 in fantasy through six weeks. The former fifth-round pick got by on volume when he was healthy, averaging about 18.5 touches per game. It remains to be seen if McVay saw enough from Royce Freeman over the last month to use the two in a committee moving forward or if Williams will be featured again in short order.

New Orleans

Michael Thomas lands on IR
Knee injury; earliest possible return would be Week 16
By: Doug Orth | Nov 21 2023, 9:40 pm

Saints WR Michael Thomas is going on IR (knee), per source. (Brooke Kirchhofer on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: HC Dennis Allen hinted at this when he told reporters last week that Thomas was dealing with a significant injury. His absence figures to give Chris Olave more opportunities at the very least, although rookie A.T. Perry could benefit the most from a fantasy perspective if he replaces Thomas in the starting lineup. It is also possible Rashid Shaheed would have a slightly higher floor as well.

Seattle Seahawks

No practice for DK Metcalf on Tuesday
Seattle set to play on Thanksgiving night
By: Doug Orth | Nov 21 2023, 9:30 pm

Seahawks officially list Geno Smith as limited today. Also really noteworthy, DK Metcalf a non-participant with a new injury - toe. He's been dealing with hip and rib injuries earlier this year. (Seattle Times - Bob Condotta)

FFToday's Take: As Condotta notes, Metcalf has been playing through injuries for most of the season. However, a toe injury this close to the team's next game does not bode well for his ability to play or the Seahawks' offense as they prepare for the 49ers in less than 48 hours. If Metcalf misses the game, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba could be in line for 10 targets apiece, while Jake Bobo could be useful in deeper leagues.

Green Bay Packers

Aaron Jones dealing with knee injury
Carted off the field in Week 11
By: Doug Orth | Nov 20 2023, 7:30 pm

Aaron Jones appears to have avoided long-term injury after he was carted to the locker room just before halftime, but it certainly doesn't look like he'll be available Thursday for the Thanksgiving clash in Detroit. Said coach Matt LaFleur after Sunday's game, “I don’t think it’s long-term. It certainly looked bad. I was really concerned. Just seeing it live, I didn’t see a replay or anything, but seeing it live, it did not look good. But he’s in good spirits in there, so hopefully it’s a short-term thing.” (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)

FFToday's Take: The Packers also lost Emanuel Wilson on Sunday, leaving AJ Dillon as the only healthy back on the roster. Jones will almost certainly be ruled out on a short week and is a good bet to miss Week 13 as well. Assuming that is the case, Dillon will be poised to handle a feature-back workload against a Detroit defense that has done a good job of stuffing runners most of the year. As such, Dillon projects as a low-upside RB2 this week who will likely need to score a touchdown to be a good fantasy start.

Minnesota Vikings

Justin Jefferson deemed questionable for Week 12
Sidelined since Week 5 with hamstring strain
By: Doug Orth | Nov 20 2023, 7:20 pm

Kevin O'Connell termed WR Justin Jefferson as "questionable" for next Monday's game vs. Bears. He also acknowledged "we do have to be smart" about bringing him back, knowing the Vikings have their bye the following week and could get add a "free" week to his 21-day window. (ESPN.com - Kevin Seifert)

FFToday's Take: The "free" week may be the deciding factor here, as Minnesota will probably decide it is better to be 100 percent sure about Jefferson's hamstring than risk a setback. Fantasy managers probably need to see Jefferson log a full practice at some point this week to have any realistic hope of seeing him on the field in Week 12. The other problem here is the Vikings playing on Monday night. While Jefferson is most definitely worth the wait, the early signs point to the stud wideout not returning until Week 14.

Los Angeles Rams

Cooper Kupp day-to-day with ankle sprain
Limited to 18 snaps in Week 11
By: Doug Orth | Nov 20 2023, 7:00 pm

Rams’ WR Cooper Kupp will be considered day to day with the sprained ankle that he suffered Sunday, per sources. Given Kupp’s history with ankle injuries, the Rams will be careful with him as they determine whether he can play Sunday vs. the Cardinals. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)

FFToday's Take: The bad news is that Kupp injured the same right ankle that sidelined him for a chunk of last season. The good news is this is reportedly a low-ankle sprain instead of the high-ankle one that ultimately ended his year in 2022. Fantasy managers should prepare for the Rams to use extreme caution and sit him out this week and react accordingly if the injury turns out to be minor. Given the way the last month has gone, his ceiling appears to be as a WR2 at best right now. Puka Nacua would likely see a nice boost to his fantasy stock if Kupp has to sit.

New York Jets

Jets make a change at QB: Tim Boyle in, Zach Wilson out
Offense has 9 TDs in 10 games
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 20 2023, 12:55 pm

The #Jets are making a QB change: Tim Boyle is expected to start Friday’s game against the #Dolphins, per sources. With New York on a three-game skid amidst a rash of OL injuries, Zach Wilson heads to the bench and Boyle gets his shot. (Tom Pelissero on X)

FFToday's Take: The Jets offense has been putrid, scoring just 9 TDs in 10 games. While this certainly isn't all Wilson's fault, making a change at quarterback is probably necessary, even if Boyle is the only option. We shouldn't expect a sudden increase in efficiency from the Jets with Boyle at the helm. It will likely be more of the same with Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson trying to eek out fantasy value on a weekly basis.

Seattle Seahawks

Kenneth Walker suffers oblique strain in Week 11
Could miss time
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 19 2023, 8:04 pm

Seahawks’ HC Pete Carroll told reporters that RB Kenneth Walker suffered an “oblique strain that was legit.” Walker is in danger of missing some time; Seahawks host the 49ers on Thanksgiving night. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Walker was injured in the first quarter which allowed Rookie Zach Charbonnet (15-47-0, 6-22-0) to handle the bulk of the running back work. With Seattle playing Thursday night in Week 12, it's safe to assume Walker will miss, leaving Charbonnet as a low-end RB1 option against San Francisco.

Atlanta Falcons

Falcons going back to Desmond Ridder in Week 12
Taylor Heinicke back to the bench
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 19 2023, 7:05 am

Sources: The #Falcons will start QB Desmond Ridder going forward, beginning with their next game against the #Saints, handing the ball back to their original starter. (Ian Rapoport on X)

FFToday's Take: Taylor Heinicke got the start the past two games but was predictably average completing 54% of his passes while throwing 2 TDs and 1 INT in Arthur Smith' run-first offense. This change doesn't move the need for Drake London or the TE combo of Kyle Pitts and Jonnu Smith. Their value remains the same.

Minnesota Vikings

Alexander Mattison expected to play Week 11
Concussion
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 19 2023, 7:00 am

Despite spending the week in concussion protocol and being listed as questionable for Sunday night, Vikings’ RB Alexander Mattison is “good to go” and expected to play vs. the Broncos, per source. (Adam Schefter on X)

FFToday's Take: It was expected that Mattison would miss this week but he was able to buck the trend and clear concussion protocol in time to play. He'll likely split time with Ty Chandler which caps the upside of both. Both are weak Flex options even in a plus matchup given the state of the Vikings run game.

Chicgao Bears

Bears activate Khalil Herbert off Injured Reserve
Expected to play in Week 11
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 18 2023, 2:19 pm

The Bears officially activated RB Khalil Herbert off injured reserve. LBs Micah Baskerville and DeMarquis Gates were elevated from the practice squad to game day roster. (Courtney Cronin on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Herbert last played in Week 5 and has been dealing with an ankle issue ever since. D'Onta Foreman has been on the injury report this week with an ankle issue of his own but is expected to play according to Jeremy Fowler. Expect both to share the backfield against the Lions with Roschon Johnson on the outside looking in.

Pittburgh Steelers

Steelers plan to activate Pat Freiermuth from IR
TE expected to play Week 11
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 18 2023, 8:15 am

The #Steelers plan to activate TE Pat Freiermuth from injured reserve before leaving for Cleveland today, per source. A boost for Pittsburgh’s offense on Sunday against the #Browns’ stout D. (Tom Pelissero on X)

FFToday's Take: Freiermuth hasn't played since injuring his hamstring in Week 4 and then re-aggravating the injury prior to Week 7. He hasn't seen more than 4 targets in any game this season and the Browns have given up the fewest fantasy points to the position this season.

Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Burrow out for the season, wrist injury
Torn ligament in wrist
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 17 2023, 2:40 pm

Bengals QB Joe Burrow suffered a torn wrist ligament that will likely require season-ending surgery, coach Zac Taylor said. (Ben Baby on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Another quarterback bites the dust. Burrow left Week 11 with a wrist issue and couldn't throw the ball on the sidelines without pain. Jake Browning will now take over as the starter. This is an obvious downgrade to the offense as a whole, specifically Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd. The offense will likely rely on Joe Mixon more moving forward.

Houston Texans

Dameon Pierce not expected to play Week 11
Nico Collins good to go
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 17 2023, 7:00 am

Running back Dameon Pierce, a Pro Bowl alternate as a rookie last season, isn’t practicing due to an ankle injury that has kept him out the past two games. He is not expected to play Sunday, per a league source. When Pierce returns, he will split time with Devin Singletary, per offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik. Wide receiver Nico Collins practiced for the second consecutive game. He is set to go for Sunday’s game after missing the Bengals game with a strained calf. Collins declared that he feels good and he will play Sunday. (Aaron Wilson)

FFToday's Take: Pierce has missed the last two games with an ankle injury. He did return to practice Friday but it appears Singletary will get the backfield mostly to himself this week with a little Mike Boone sprinkled in. This puts Singletary on the RB2 radar against the Cardinals with RB1 upside if he finds the endzone.

Baltimore Ravens

Mark Andrew suffers serious ankle injury
Likely out of the year
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 16 2023, 11:41 am

#Ravens TE Mark Andrews has a “very serious ankle injury”, coach John Harbaugh said. Harbaugh said it looks to be a season-ending injury. (Jamison Hensley on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Andrews posted 2 catches for 23 yards before he injured his ankle early in the first half. He's been the No.1 option in the Ravens passing game so this will be a blow to the offense. Isaiah Likely will see more playing time as a result and worth a look for teams needy at the position.

Cleveland Browns

Deshaun Watson will have shoulder surgery, out for the year
Dorian Thompson-Robinson expected to start
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 15 2023, 8:58 am

#Browns QB Deshaun Watson wanted to be shot up and play through the injuries, and he sought multiple medical opinions, per sources. But doctors were clear: if he got hit again in the same spot, the shoulder could fall apart. Now surgery awaits and his 2023 season is over. (Tom Pelissero on X)

FFToday's Take: Watson played in six games this season, first injuring his shoulder in Week 3. This is a blow to the playoff hopes of the Browns and now with Dorian Thompson-Robinson starting, it's a blow to the upside of Amari Cooper and the offense. Upcoming schedule for Cleveland includes Pittsburgh, @ Denver, @ LA Rams and Jacksonville.

Chicgao Bears

Justin Fields expected to start Week 11
Thumb injury
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 15 2023, 7:08 am

Sources: #Bears QB Justin Fields, out the last month with a dislocated thumb, is expected to start Sunday vs the #Lions, assuming today’s practice goes well. The key has been regaining grip strength, and Fields was nearly there before TNF. With a solid practice, he will be. (Ian Rapoport on X)

FFToday's Take: It sounds like Fields was close in Week 10 and without any setbacks in practice, will start against Detroit in Week 11. This will send Tyson Bagent to the bench and hopefully breathe some life into D.J. Moore who hasn't scored or topped 55 yards since Week 5.

Pittburgh Steelers

Jaylen Warren the RB1 in Pittsburgh?
Warren moves ahead of Najee Harris on depth chart
By: Doug Orth | Nov 14 2023, 11:30 pm

Jaylen Warren was announced as a starter for the first time Sunday. He said Tomlin told him the night before. "He did kind of mention the night before that whatever had transpired throughout the team, he was saying that he was going to announce me and that I'm deserving of it." (ESPN - Brooke Pryor)

FFToday's Take: Warren was announced as the starter for the team's Week 10 game against the Packers, but Najee Harris handled the first two touches by a running back in the game and ended up finishing the drive with a rushing score. Regardless of the designation, Warren has done enough to warrant splitting work with Harris at the very least and has generally been the more productive of the two backs in fantasy. Consider both backs low-end RB2s until further notice.

Baltimore Ravens

Keaton Mitchell likely to see more work
Produced 66 yards and a touchdown on four touches in Week 10
By: Doug Orth | Nov 13 2023, 8:10 pm

John Harbaugh on Keaton Mitchell only getting 4 snaps and 1 touch in the second half says “Looking back on it would we have wanted him out there more? Yea.” Added that it had to do with being a young guy and working him in but he’ll be more involved this week. (Baltimore Sun - Brian Wacker)

FFToday's Take: The good news is that Mitchell saw action on the first drive (which he capped with a 39-yard TD run) and again on the team's second possession (32-yard catch). The bad news is that he barely saw any action after that. While there is some merit to earning the trust of the coaching staff, coaches often don't shy away from players - regardless of how much they have worked with the team - if they continue to make big plays. Expect a bit of an overcorrection in Week 11 against a Cincinnati defense that just gave up 150 rushing yards to Devin Singletary. Mitchell should be, at worst, a great flex option on Thursday Night Football.

Cincinnati Bengals

Tee Higgins unlikely to play in Week 11
Hamstring injury
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 13 2023, 4:03 pm

On a short week with a Thursday night game vs. the Ravens in Baltimore, it’s considered unlikely that Bengals’ WR Tee Higgins will be able to return from his hamstring injury, per source. (Adam Schefter on X)

FFToday's Take: This will be the second week Higgins has missed with his hamstring injury. Trenton Irwin played 81.2% of the snaps in Week 10 and will continue to be a Flex fantasy consideration as long as Higgins is out.

Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Stafford expected back for Week 11
Took part in individual drills on Monday
By: Doug Orth | Nov 13 2023, 12:00 am

Sean McVay said he's expecting QB Matthew Stafford to play Sunday against the Seahawks. McVay said Stafford was able to throw the ball during individual drills during practice today. (ESPN.com - Sarah Barshop I know )

FFToday's Take: Since Stafford suffered a thumb injury in Week 8, the primary concern is his ability to grip the ball. So long as he is doing that - and it sounds as if that is the case - then the Rams are going to let him do his thing. Stafford's return is great news for Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua - both of whom were performing as top 20 fantasy receivers (points per game) through eight weeks. While Stafford figures to remain a middling QB2, Kupp and Nacua should return to WR1 status.

Minnesota Vikings

K.J. Osborn unlikely to play, Hockenson limited
Vikings running out of pass catchers
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 12 2023, 8:31 am

#Vikings expect TE T.J. Hockenson to play today vs. #Saints but still affected by his rib/oblique injury. He won’t play as many snaps as normal but will be on field in key situations. WR K.J. Osborn is unlikely to play despite clearing concussion protocol. Coach-player decision. (Ed Werder on X)

FFToday's Take: The Vikings are running out of pass-catchers. Justin Jefferson and Osborn are out and now it sounds like Hockenson is going to be limited. Unless you have a strong backup, Hockenson is still in play this week at the tight end position. Brandon Powell should see more volume with Osborn on the shelf.

Indianapolis Colts

Josh Downs active for Week 10
Missed practice all week
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 12 2023, 8:08 am

Patriots’ WR Demario Douglas and Colts’ WR Josh Downs - both listed as questionable for today’s game in Germany - both are active today. (Adam Schefter on X)

FFToday's Take: Downs missed practice all week with a knee issue but is active for Week 10 against the Patriots. It sounds he could be limited which throws a wet blanket on his fantasy value. He's a Flex consideration for deep leagues only.

Arizona Cardinals

Cardinals activate James Conner off IR
Will play in Week 10
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 11 2023, 2:52 pm

Cardinals are activating RB James Conner from IR for Sunday’s game vs. the Falcons. (Adam Schefter on X)

FFToday's Take: As expected, Conner will play in Week 11 against the Falcons. His role is unclear but Arizona has been willing to give their lead running back the bulk of the work and that's the expectation here. Emari Demercado is out with a toe injury.

Houston Texans

Nico Collins, Dameon Pierce unlikely to play Week 10
Banged up Texans offense
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 10 2023, 12:51 pm

On #Texans wide receiver Nico Collins' strained calf. He got hurt against #Buccaneers and it became apparent during warmups Wednesday that he couldn't go, hence the limited designation on injury report, but didn't have any practice time. Now, out Thursday and again today @KPRC2 (Aaron Wilson on X)

FFToday's Take: The Texans will be without two of their starting offensive skill players against the Bengals. Both Collins and Pierce missed practice this week. Expect Devin Singletary to be the starting running back and Tank Dell, Robert Woods and Noah Brown to be the top three receivers. Singletary has some Flex appeal while Dell has some WR2 upside.

Cincinnati Bengals

Tee Higgins misses practice Thursday
Hamstring injury
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 9 2023, 2:58 pm

The Cincinnati Bengals (5-3) could be without wide receiver Tee Higgins on Sunday when they host the Houston Texans (4-4). Higgins is dealing with a hamstring injury, per the team’s injury report as he was listed as a limited participant following practice on Wednesday. The fourth year wideout didn’t practice on Thursday but was present on the field to watch. (Cincinnati.com)

FFToday's Take: The top two wideout for the Bengals are dealing with injuries this week. Ja'Marr Chase was able to practice today with his back issue, but it seems Higgins is the more questionable of the two. The loss of Higgins could mean more work for Trenton Irwin. We'll have a better idea of this situation after practice on Friday.

Chicgao Bears

Khalil Herbert expected to miss Week 10
Ankle injury
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 9 2023, 7:19 am

From @gmfb: The #Bears are expected to be without QB Justin Fields and RB Khalil Herbert again tonight, while the #Panthers get one key player back on defense. @nflnetwork (Tom Pelissero on X)

FFToday's Take: Herbert is still on IR and it appears he will remain there this week as he recovers from an ankle injury. If he sits, expect D'Onta Foreman to lead the Bears backfield against the Panthers with Roschon Johnson mixing in. Foreman will be on the RB2 radar against the Panthers who've given up the 2nd most fantasy points to the position.

Chicgao Bears

Justin Fields Doubtful for Week 10
Tyson Bagent gets another start
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 8 2023, 2:00 pm

Bears are listing QB Justin Fields as doubtful for Thursday night vs. Carolina. (Adam Schefter on X)

FFToday's Take: Fields is dealing with a thumb injury and isn't able to grip the football well enough to play. The Bears will give Tyson Bagent another start. Bagent displayed some rushing ability (8-70-0) in his last start against the Saints which helped him finish as the QB6 on the week. The Panthers have given up the 3rd fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks.

Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore hints at three-headed RBBC moving forward
HC John Harbaugh: "I'm sure there will be a rotation."
By: Doug Orth | Nov 6 2023, 4:10 pm

#Ravens coach John Harbaugh on whether RB Keaton Mitchell will get worked into the offense more: "I'm sure there'll be a rotation. Sometimes it's by certain scheme, sometimes it's by who's hot. Sometimes it's by who's tired with running backs. It just kind of depends." (ESPN - Jamison Hensley)

FFToday's Take: NFL coaches really are the masters of saying something but not saying anything. Mitchell was involved surprisingly early in the Week 9 beatdown of the Seahawks and flashed an impressive combination of speed and power. Gus Edwards is likely in no danger of losing his early-down role anytime soon, but Mitchell arguably showed more big-play ability on Sunday than Justice Hill has all season. Mitchell may not be on the flex radar yet, but he will likely be this week's top waiver-wire add (and for good reason). He may not possess the same kind of upside Devon Achane did before his injury, but he could emerge as a weekly flex option soon enough.

Detroit Lions

True RBBC coming soon in Detroit?
David Montgomery, Jahmyr Gibbs both healthy coming off bye
By: Doug Orth | Nov 6 2023, 3:40 pm

For much of this season, the Lions haven’t needed to decide how to split snaps between running backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs because the two haven’t been healthy at the same time. But that’s about to change, and Lions head coach Dan Campbell says both players will get plenty of opportunities. Montgomery appears likely to return from his rib injury Sunday against the Chargers, and Gibbs is coming off his best game last week against the Raiders. Campbell was asked today how they’ll split the workload going forward. “We know what David can do, but we know that Gibbs has gotten better every week, so we’re going to ask those guys to do the things they do well and that help our offense move the football,” Campbell said. “I don’t think, necessarily sitting here talking to you right now, that I see Gibbs getting 65 plays. I don’t see that. But he’s going to get his fair share now. We know what he can be and he’s growing. I think it’ll be a little bit by committee and make sure we get those guys their touches. Gibbs will get his touches.” (PFT - Michael David Smith)

FFToday's Take: Gibbs flashed in a big way over Detroit's last two games, although they both come with a bit of a caveat in that most of his production against the Ravens in Week 8 came after the game was decided and Week 9's impressive effort came against a Las Vegas defense that was worn out by the offense's ineptitude. The good news for managers of either player is that the schedule should provide plenty of opportunity for both: between now and Week 15, the Lions face only one team that ranks outside the top 10 in most fantasy points allowed to running backs. Gibbs should push for at least 10-plus touches weekly and handle the bulk of long down-and-distance opportunities while Montgomery takes the bulk of early-down and goal-line work.

New York Giants

Giants fear torn ACL for QB Daniel Jones
Tommy DeVito moving forward?
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 5 2023, 7:53 pm

The initial fear is that quarterback Daniel Jones has a torn ACL in his right knee, per sources. MRI coming Monday to determine full extent of the injury but there is concern for a serious injury. (Jordan Raanan on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Giants put Tyrod Taylor on Injured Reserve with a rib injury meaning Tommy DeVito was once again thrust into action. There are no good options here for the Giants. Their passing game was uninspiring against the Raiders as DeVito went 15-of-20 for 175 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs.

Minnesota Vikings

Vikings lose Cam Akers to Achilles injury
Second Achilles injury for Akers
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 5 2023, 4:49 pm

Vikings’ HC Kevin O’Connell told reporters that RB Cam Akers suffered an Achilles injury today. (Adam Schefter on X)

FFToday's Take: This would be the second Achilles injury for Akers. His previous injury came with Rams back in Week 1 of 2021. The Vikings have struggled to run the ball all season and the only other running back to get a carry in this game was Alexander Mattison who finished with a 16-44-0, 2-49-1 line. Ty Chandler could be the next man up but expect a free agent signing or practice squad call-up this week.

Arizona Cardinals

Cardinals RB Emari Demercado out for Week 9
Keaontay Ingram expected to start
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 3 2023, 3:43 pm

With RB Emari Demercado out Sunday against the Browns, I expect Keaontay Ingram to start. (Josh Weinfuss on X)

FFToday's Take: Demercado missed practice this week with a toe injury and will sit out Week 9 against Cleveland. The Cardinals will likely use Ingram and Damien Williams as their running backs with Ingram getting first crack as the lead RB. Ingram can be considered a low-end Flex candidate.

Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Stafford a gametime decision for Week 9
Thumb injury
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 3 2023, 2:14 pm

Rams will list QB Matthew Stafford as questionable for Sunday due to his thumb injury and wait as long as they can before deciding whether he can play at Green Bay. (Adam Schefter on X)

FFToday's Take: The Rams will take it up to gametime with Stafford. If he sits, Brett Rypien would get the start and be a low-end option in two-quarterback leagues. The Rams have a bye in Week 10 which could sway the decision.

Atlanta Falcons

Drake London to miss Week 9, groin injury
Missed practice all week
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 3 2023, 12:58 pm

Falcons injury report: Drake London among three Falcons ruled out of Week 9 clash vs. Vikings. (Scott Bair on X)

FFToday's Take: The Falcons and new starting quarterback Taylor Heinicke will be without their best receiver against the Vikings. Expect Mack Hollins, Van Jefferson and Cordarrelle Patterson to have bigger roles along with tight ends Kyle Pitts and Jonnu Smith. However, only one or possibly two are likely to be fantasy worthy given Arthur Smith's offensive scheme.

Cleveland Browns

Deshaun Watson will start Week 9
Off the injury report
By: Mike Krueger | Nov 3 2023, 12:49 pm

#Browns QB Deshaun Watson will start Sunday vs. Arizona, coach Kevin Stefanski said. He's off the injury report. (Tom Pelissero on X)

FFToday's Take: Watson got in a full practice on Friday and has been removed from the injury report. The last time he played was Week 7 against the Colts when he left early after banging his head and shoulder on the turf. This week, the Browns face the Cardinals who've given up the 8th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Given the state of the position, Watson will be on the high-end QB2, low-end QB1 radar.
