He'll be an option in two-QB formats only unless he demonstrates more rushing ability.

The Las Vegas Raiders have fired head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager David Ziegler, the team announced on Tuesday night.
"After much thought about what the Raiders need to move forward, I have decided to part ways with Josh and Dave," owner Mark Davis said in a statement. "I want to thank them both for their hard work and wish them and their families nothing but the best." (Around the NFL)
FFToday's Take: The duo's fate was likely sealed after getting dominated on Monday Night Football by the Lions 24 hours earlier. Linebackers coach Antonio Pierce appears to be the early favorite to serve as the interim head coach for the remainder of the season. Fantasy managers can only hope that Pierce will emphasize the importance of keeping Davante Adams heavily involved moving forward.

FFToday's Take: On the surface, this appears to be a move designed to replace what the Bills lost when Damien Harris to injury. However, Fournette is very good in the passing game, which would continue to eat away at the value of James Cook and make Latavius Murray difficult to trust even if Cook misses time. Fantasy managers would be wise to sell Cook for a decent return if possible since it appears the Bills consider him as nothing more than a 15-touch player - one which hasn't been used very much in the passing game over the last three games.

Hockenson that otherwise would've been non-existent with Hall commanding the offense.

Once the Cardinals finish with Cleveland, they face a string of defenses (Falcons, Texans, Rams and Steelers) that a healthy Murray could beat before the Week 14 bye. Don't be surprised if Murray ends up making his season debut in Week 10.

FFToday's Take: We will see what the practice week brings, but it appears as though Stafford was extremely fortunate to avoid a more serious injury. While there is always a chance the Rams could play things safe and sit Stafford against the Packers in Week 9 with their bye coming up the following week, L.A. may not feel it has the luxury of doing that at 3-5. Either way, it appears as though fantasy managers of Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua will be able to proceed as they normally would. Brett Rypien will draw the start in Week 9 if Stafford misses that contest.

But after Tyrod Taylor (ribs) got hurt in the Giants Week 8, game it sounds like Jones could be ready as soon as Week 9 against the Raiders. The stat of the fantasy quarterback situation around the league is ugly, which means Jones is likely to be an option even though he's the QB30 in fantasy points per game after eight weeks.

With starting running back Miles Sanders dealing with a shoulder injury, and Chuba Hubbard playing well in his absence in the Week 6 loss to the Miami Dolphins, Reich has some wiggle room when it comes to gamesmanship ahead of Sunday’s home matchup against the Houston Texans. “Chuba’s looked good,” Reich said. “Obviously, we love Miles. And Miles has continued to make good progress. We’ll continue to get into this week a little bit. It’s always going to be a little bit by committee. That’s typically our approach. So the actual mix, that could vary week to week, so we’ll see how things play out this week.” (Charlotte Observer - Mike Kaye)
FFToday's Take: Apparently, not even a running back in the first season of a four-year, $25.4 million contract is guaranteed to keep his role as the "featured" back for even half of a season. There is no question that Hubbard has earned himself some more work with his recent performance, but one would think the contract, the difficult early matchups and the injury would have bought Sanders some time on a winless team. Expect Sanders to get another crack at being a lead back at some point in the near future, but it appears as if he possesses little more than RB3/flex upside at this point.

FFToday's Take: The Browns' offense keeps taking hits, as Ford will likely join Deshaun Watson and Nick Chubb as players who will likely miss multiple games due to injury. Fantasy managers should consider themselves lucky if Ford only misses two weeks with an injury that can sideline some backs for a month. Although he has been productive for fantasy purposes, Kareem Hunt has not looked any better than he did last season. However, it should be expected to take on the leading role for however long Ford is sidelined while Pierre Strong Jr. assumes Hunt's old role as Ford's complement.

The Los Angeles Rams' leading running backs Sunday vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to be Royce Freeman and Darrell Henderson, sources told ESPN. Freeman and Henderson are expected to get, in the words of one source, "the majority of the workload" against the Steelers. Zach Evans is expected to back up both Freeman and Henderson against the Steelers as he is still learning the offense and acclimating to the NFL game. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: Schefter noted that Freeman is likely to get the start but that would be based on the Steelers personnel. As the third running back, there's no reason to have Evans in your lineup this week. Since we aren't confident of the exact roles for Freeman and Henderson, they are very risky Flex options with a slight nod going to Freeman.

Trevor Lawrence a gametime decision in Week 7

Jaguars will work out quarterback Trevor Lawrence before tonight’s game to determine whether or not he can play versus the Saints with his knee sprain, per source. “It could easily be a game time decision,” source added. If Lawrence cannot play, C.J. Beathard would start. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: It seems like Lawrence will be active tonight but Lawrence owners should pay attention to the Inactives 90 minutes before game time. The Saints have been stingy against quarterbacks allowing the 7th fewest fantasy points to the position.

Season-ending surgery for QB Anthony Richardson

After consultation with our medical staff, Anthony, and those close to him, it has been determined that he will undergo surgery to repair his injured shoulder, which will end his season. Anthony is a competitor, and we know how difficult and disappointing this is for him and our team. We collected several medical opinions and we felt this was the best course of action for his long-term health. We anticipate a full recovery and there is no doubt Anthony has a promising future. In the meantime, I love the fight of this team and I’m excited for the opportunity we have ahead of us. It starts this week with Cleveland. (Jim Irsay on X)
FFToday's Take: Anthony Richardson played just four games in his rookie season missing time with a concussion and shoulder injury. His running style will have to be altered if he plans on playing a long career in this league. Gardner Minshew will continue to be the starting QB for the Colts. He's been the QB23 and QB10 in two starts this season.

FFToday's Take: Lawrence was given a "DNP" on Monday's estimated practice report. C.J. Beathard is the next man up for Jacksonville. In the likely event Beathard gets the nod on a short week, the fantasy stock of Calvin Ridley and Christian Kirk would likely take a sizable hit in particular. Then again, the Jaguars' offense hasn't exactly played at a high level even with Lawrence healthy. Fantasy managers should be more excited about firing up the Saints DST than anything else if Lawrence sits.

FFToday's Take: It appears as though Samuel should be expected to play against Minnesota next Monday night, but the same may not be true for CMC. McCaffrey tried to play through the injury before leaving the game for good in the fourth quarter. Oblique injuries are notoriously slow to heal, so the 49ers could exercise caution and sit him for at least a week in a game they should win. Assuming that ends up being the case, it sounds as though Shanahan still prefers Elijah Mitchell over Jordan Mason as the preferred top back if CMC is sidelined.

FFToday's Take: Chicago's bye isn't until Week 13, so the Bears and fantasy managers alike will not get any break in his recovery timeline from that. Tyson Bagent came on in relief of Fields against Minnesota and didn't do much of note (10-of-14 for 83 yards and an interception) despite scoring the team's only touchdown on a short run midway through the fourth quarter. Bagent is mostly a pocket passer that won't provide much of a rushing threat, making the Raiders and Chargers good streaming DST options if Fields cannot play over the next two weeks.

Kyren Williams not expected to play in Week 7

An MRI on Monday revealed that Rams running back Kyren Williams has a sprained ankle that is expected to sideline him for Sunday's game against the Steelers but is not considered a long-term injury, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Williams' backup, Ronnie Rivers, injured his knee early in the second half of Sunday's game. If he can't play against the Steelers, rookie sixth-round pick Zach Evans would likely get the start at running back.

FFToday's Take: The running back position seems to be falling like flies this season. Williams rushed for a career-high 158 yards and a touchdown in Week 6, but it appears he won't be able to suit up against the Steelers' somewhat forgiving run defense. If Rivers cannot go, it appears Evans will have his first real opportunity to prove why he warrants more work. More than likely, however, the Rams will lean more heavily on Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua against Pittsburgh.
