| Kyren Williams not expected to play in Week 7 Sprained ankle in Week 6 vs. Cardinals By: Doug Orth | Oct 16 2023, 5:05 pm
An MRI on Monday revealed that Rams running back Kyren Williams has a sprained ankle that is expected to sideline him for Sunday's game against the Steelers but is not considered a long-term injury, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Williams' backup, Ronnie Rivers, injured his knee early in the second half of Sunday's game. If he can't play against the Steelers, rookie sixth-round pick Zach Evans would likely get the start at running back.
(ESPN.com - Sarah Barshop)
FFToday's Take: The running back position seems to be falling like flies this season. Williams rushed for a career-high 158 yards and a touchdown in Week 6, but it appears he won't be able to suit up against the Steelers' somewhat forgiving run defense. If Rivers cannot go, it appears Evans will have his first real opportunity to prove why he warrants more work. More than likely, however, the Rams will lean more heavily on Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua against Pittsburgh.

| David Montgomery dealing with rib cartilage injury Departed early in Week 6 By: Doug Orth | Oct 16 2023, 5:00 pm
Lions’ HC Dan Campbell said RB David Montgomery will be out for “a little bit” due to a rib cartilage injury. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)
FFToday's Take: X-rays came back negative Sunday night, but the expectation should be that Montgomery will miss at least Week 7 against the Ravens. Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) is reportedly feeling better, so fantasy managers should count on him and Craig Reynolds sharing the bulk of reps in Detroit's backfield - with the rookie serving as the 1A option. The Lions host Las Vegas on Monday night in Week 8, so hopefully Montgomery's status becomes more clear over the next 1 1/2 weeks.

| Sam LaPorta trending in the right direction Calf injury By: Mike Krueger | Oct 15 2023, 7:47 am
Lions’ TE Sam LaPorta, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a calf injury, is expected to work out pre-game to finalize whether he can play, but it is trending in the right direction, per source. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: LaPorta missed practice Thursday but did practice Friday so it seems like he'll be out there against the Buccaneers on Sunday. The Lions play in the late-afternoon window. LaPorta has been a nice surprise in the tight end landscape barren of playable options.

| Saquon Barkley trending towards playing in Week 6 Ankle injury By: Mike Krueger | Oct 15 2023, 7:00 am
Giants are “optimistic” and “hopeful” that RB Saquon Barkley will play Sunday night after missing the past three games due to a sprained ankle, but also want to make sure there are no setbacks, per sources. But they “feel good about it”, so signs point up.
Giants’ TE Darren Waller, listed as questionable for Sunday night due to a groin injury, is expected to play vs. the Bills, per source.
Bills’ TE Dawson Knox, listed as questionable for Sunday night due to a wrist injury, is expected to play vs. the Giants, per source (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: It looks like we may see Barkley on the field Sunday night but given his gametime status it will be a tricky situation for fantasy owners to navigate. The Giants will be without starting QB Daniel Jones so Barkley would be a welcome addition to the offense. Matt Breida has done very little in Barkley's absence.

| Roshcon Johnson out for Week 6 D'Onta Foreman expected to start By: Mike Krueger | Oct 13 2023, 3:21 pm
#Bears RBs Khalil Herbert, Roschon Johnson and Travis Homer are all officially out for Sunday's game vs. Minnesota. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: It looks D'Onta Foreman will get the start this week with and handle the bulk of the carries against the Vikings. Foreman has some Flex appeal in Week 6. Darrynton Evans was signed earlier this week and should be active on gameday.
| Tee Higgins practices Friday, Questionable Rib injury By: Mike Krueger | Oct 13 2023, 2:31 pm
Bengals WR Tee Higgins (ribs) was a full participant for the first time since the injury. Officially listed as questionable. (Ben Baby on X)
FFToday's Take: Higgins noted that it's really going to be an issue with pain regarding his rib injury, likely for the rest of the season. He'll be a gametime decision but seems like he's trending towards playing. He'll be a risky WR2 if he suits up against the Seahawks.
| Miles Sanders Out for Week 6, shoulder injury Chuba Hubbard expected to start By: Mike Krueger | Oct 13 2023, 12:39 pm
Frank Reich says Chuba Hubbard will get the bulk of the carries with Miles Sanders out. Adds he doesn't think Sanders' absence will be long-term. (Joe Person on X)
FFToday's Take: It's been a rough start to the season for Sanders who has dealt with two different injuries and will now miss Week 6 with a shoulder issue. His absence will allow Hubbard to see the bulk of the work against the Dolphins in a game where Miami is favored by 13.5 points. Hubbard may have to do most of his damage in the receiving game.
| Mike Evans expected to play Week 6 Hamstring injury By: Mike Krueger | Oct 13 2023, 12:16 pm
Mike Evans was “full go” today and will be “full go” for Sunday, per coach Todd Bowles. Outstanding news. Evans had suffered a hamstring injury Oct 1 against the Saints, forcing him to miss the second half of that game. (Jenna Laine on X)
FFToday's Take: Evans has been bothered by a hamstring injury but the Tampa Bay bye came at the right time. Evans is hovering around the WR1 / WR2 borderline averaging 17.9 PPR points per game. The Lions have given up the 13th most fantasy points to wide receivers.
| Daniel Jones out for Week 6, neck injury Tyrod Taylor will start for Giants By: Mike Krueger | Oct 13 2023, 11:32 am
#Giants coach Brian Daboll tells reporters that QB Daniel Jones (neck) is out for Sunday. (Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: The Giants will give Tyrod Taylor a shot at running the offense which can't be much worse than it's been the last couple of weeks. Jones has thrown exactly 2 touchdown passes in five games and has only topped 200 passing yards twice. The Bills have allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.
| Deshaun Watson not expected to play Week 6 P.J. Walker taking first team reps in practice By: Mike Krueger | Oct 12 2023, 6:33 pm
I’m told the #Browns QB Deshaun Watson will not play Sunday vs the 5-0 #49ers, per source. (Josina Anderson on X)
FFToday's Take: Watson missed the Browns' Week 4 game and had the bye week to get healed up, but apparently isn't ready to step on the field. P.J. Walker has been taking first-team reps in practice this week and should get the start against the 49ers. This isn't great for Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore as both will slide in the rankings down to Flex options in Week 6.
| Sam LaPorta misses practice Thursday, calf injury Full practice for Amon-Ra St. Brown By: Mike Krueger | Oct 12 2023, 4:02 pm
Amon-Ra St. Brown a full practice participant. Sam LaPorta has a calf injury that sidelined him today. (Justin Rogers on X)
FFToday's Take: The Lions have yet another offensive player injured as rookie tight end Sam LaPorta was added to the injury report today. We'll have to wait for more details on the severity and his status. Amon-Ra St. Brown seems to be trending in the right direction with a full practice today and should be available for Week 6 against Tampa Bay.
| Travis Kelce, Javonte Williams expected to play TNF Ankle injury for Kelce By: Mike Krueger | Oct 12 2023, 8:20 am
From @gmfb: #Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (ankle) is trending upwards and should play tonight barring a setback. Meanwhile, RB Javonte Williams (quad) is set to return for the #Broncos. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: Kelce injured his ankle last week but was able to come back in and finish the game. He's obviously going to be less than 100 percent, but given the state of the Chiefs WR group, Kelce should continue to be the main target for Patrick Mahomes. For the Broncos, Williams will return to form a three-headed running back committee which is a nightmare for fantasy football. Jaleel McLaughlin and Samaje Perine will also be in the mix.
| Jahmyr Gibbs sits Wednesday, Amon-Ra St. Brown limited Lions still short-handed By: Mike Krueger | Oct 11 2023, 4:02 pm
Lions’ RB Jahmyr Gibbs did not practice today due to his hamstring injury.
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown was listed as limited. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The Lions were short-handed last week as Gibbs and St. Brown missed Week 5 but still managed to beat the Panthers 42-24. If Gibbs ends up missing again, we can expect another heavy dose of David Montgomery who saw 21 touches last week.
| Roschon Johnson misses practice Wednesday Concussion By: Mike Krueger | Oct 11 2023, 3:12 pm
#Bears' Eddie Jackson and Jaylon Johnson were limited in their first full practice since they were hurt in Weeks 2 and 3, respectively. TE Cole Kmet was limited with a hamstring.
#Bears RBs Khalil Herbert, Roschon Johnson and Travis Homer didn't practice. (Patrick Finley on X)
FFToday's Take: Johnson suffered a concussion in Week 4 during the Bears Thursday night game against the Commanders. With Kahlil Herbert (ankle) out, Johnson has an opportunity to start but needs to pass the concussion protocol first. If he doesn't, D'Onta Foreman would likely start and get the bulk of the carries for the Bears against the Vikings.
| Austin Ekeler anticipates returning in Week 6 Hasn't played since Week 1 due to ankle injury By: Doug Orth | Oct 10 2023, 9:40 pm
Austin Ekeler said he expects to play this week. Said “99%” chance he plays Monday night vs. Cowboys. (The Athletic - Daniel Popper)
FFToday's Take: The long wait appears to be ending. While Ekeler could set everyone at ease by saying he is 100 percent certain he is ready to go, fantasy managers will take it after being without their RB1 for a month. The only problem is that Chargers-Cowboys play on Monday night, so managers could have an issue if Ekeler has a setback late in the week. Assuming he suits up, Ekeler needs to be back in lineups.
| James Conner expected to miss multiple weeks Knee injury in Week 5 By: Mike Krueger | Oct 10 2023, 10:47 am
Cardinals’ RB James Conner is expected to miss multiple weeks with the knee injury he suffered Sunday vs. the Bengals and he now is a candidate to be placed on injured reserve, per sources. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The Cardinals pickup up Tony Jones off the Saints practice squad yesterday but are very thin at running back headed into their Week 6 game against the Rams. Emari Demercado is likely to get the start and we could see a few more carries for WR Rondale Moore who has 8 rushing attempts on the season. Corey Clement could be elevated from the practice squad.
| Justin Jefferson expected to be placed on IR Hamstring injury By: Mike Krueger | Oct 10 2023, 7:11 am
The #Vikings plan to place WR Justin Jefferson on injured reserve because of the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday’s loss to Kansas City, per sources.
The exact timeline is TBD based on how he responds to treatment. But Jefferson is out at least four games. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: Ouch. The Vikings offense is based around Jefferson so they'll have to make-do without their best offensive weapon. Brandon Powell saw a 30.6% snap share against the Chiefs last week and will likely see more playing time moving forward. However, Jordan Addison, K.J. Osborn and TE T.J. Hockenson are likely to be the top targets for Kirk Cousins while Jefferson is out.
| De'Von Achane nursing a knee injury Did not play in fourth quarter in Week 5 after getting hurt By: Doug Orth | Oct 9 2023, 3:40 pm
Devon Achane is dealing with a knee injury. Mike McDaniel said a decision has not been made on Jeff Wilson yet. (Adam Beasley on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Beginning with his Week 3 breakout, Achane has been the highest-scoring player in all of fantasy football. Until we receive a report on the kind of injury he is dealing with, it is useless to speculate how much time he could miss - if any at all. Raheem Mostert would likely return to lead-back status if Achane has to miss some games, although Wilson should not be far away from a return off IR.
| Anthony Richardson likely to miss a month? Potential Grade 3 AC joint sprain By: Doug Orth | Oct 9 2023, 3:30 pm
Sources: #Colts starting QB Anthony Richardson received an initial diagnosis of a Grade 3 AC joint sprain, which would mean he’d miss a month or more. He has an MRI this morning to confirm.
Either way, it’s likely Gardner Minshew next week and moving forward. (NFL Network - Ian Rapoport)
FFToday's Take: This was always the danger is putting faith into Richardson, who is an athletic marvel and built to last but a bit too reckless with his body at this point of his career. If the diagnosis ends up being confirmed, he will almost certainly land on IR and miss at least four games. Minshew, who has already been named the starter for Week 6 versus the Jags, is a more than capable veteran who will ensure Michael Pittman Jr. and Josh Downs remain solid fantasy starts most weeks.
| Justin Jefferson suffers hamstring injury in Week 5 WR still undergoing tests By: Doug Orth | Oct 9 2023, 3:20 pm
Kevin O'Connell is saying that Justin Jefferson is still going through tests on the hamstring. Said Jefferson is "down" today given his competitiveness and that the team will have to make sure it protects him "from himself." (ESPN.com - Kevin Seifert)
FFToday's Take: With O'Connell already invoking the "protecting him from himself" coachspeak, fantasy managers should prepare for Jefferson to miss at least one game and as many as three if it is a mild strain. For what it is worth, Jefferson has yet to miss a game in his four-year career. If Jefferson is forced to sit in Week 6 against the Bears, expect Jordan Addison to perform at a high-end WR2 level and K.J. Osborn to be worth starting in fantasy. T.J. Hockenson could also be more of a target hog than he already is.
| Aaron Jones a no-go for Week 5 Battling hamstring issue since Week 1 By: Doug Orth | Oct 9 2023, 3:00 pm
#Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) will be inactive tonight against the #Raiders, per source. (NFL Network - Tom Pelissero)
FFToday's Take: This will be Jones' third missed game in the last four. He was largely ineffective in Week 4 on six touches, but another week of limited practices should have been enough for him to go. Unfortunately, his absence means Jones' managers must turn to A.J. Dillon - assuming they handcuffed Jones. Truly desperate managers with the ability to add a player can take a shot at Patrick Taylor or Emanuel Wilson in hopes they receive some work in garbage time.
| Limited role expected to WR Jameson Williams Lions thin at wide receiver By: Mike Krueger | Oct 8 2023, 7:05 am
#Lions WR Jameson Williams is expected to play a limited role - maybe around 20 snaps - in his return from suspension today vs. Carolina, per sources.
They’ll ease him back in on a day RB Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) and WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (abdomen) aren’t expected to play. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: Despite being thin at WR this week, the Lions will play it safe with Williams as returns from a long absence. Expect Josh Reynolds, Kalif Raymond and Marvin Jones to do the heavy lifting from the wideout group.
| Javonte Williams will be a gametime decision Hip, Quad injury By: Mike Krueger | Oct 8 2023, 7:00 am
Broncos say they want to work out RB Javonte Williams, who is questionable with a quad injury, in pre-game warmups before deciding whether or not he can play Sunday vs. the Jets. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: This has the feel of Williams being on the inactive list. The Broncos play in the late-afternoon window so we won't know his status until after kickoff of the early games. If he sits, expect rookie Jaleel McLaughlin and Samaje Perine to carry the load.
| Jahmyr Gibbs dowgraded to doubtful for Week 5 Hamstring injury By: Mike Krueger | Oct 7 2023, 4:11 pm
Lions downgraded RB Jahmyr Gibbs to doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. the Panthers. Lions also activated WR Jameson Williams from Exempt/Commissioner Permission and he is on track to make his season debut Sunday vs. Carolina. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Late-week injuries are never a good sign. With Gibbs out of action, David Montgomery will continue to be a workhorse and is an easy RB1 against the Panthers. Craig Reynolds should step into the No.2 role but isn't really fantasy viable.
| Packers list Aaron Jones as Questionable for Week 5 limited in practice all week By: Mike Krueger | Oct 7 2023, 2:57 pm
Packers are listing RB Aaron Jones and CB Jaire Alexander as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Raiders. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: After being limited in snaps last week, Jones was limited in practice all week while fellow hamstring sufferer Christian Watson is not listed on the injury report. Expect Jones to be out there Monday night against the Raiders but his touches could once again be limited.
| New three-year contract extension for Jonathan Taylor $26.5M guaranteed By: Mike Krueger | Oct 7 2023, 12:21 pm
Sources to ESPN: Jonathan Taylor and the Colts reached agreement on a three-year, $42 million contract extension, including $26.5M guaranteed, that makes him one of the league’s highest-paid RBs and clears him to make his season debut Sunday vs. Titans. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: After an off-season filled with drama between Colts ownership and Taylor we finally have a resolution - one day before Taylor is eligible to play in Week 5. Taylor is now under contract with the Colts through the 2026 season. As for Week 5, don't expect a full workload against the Titans. He'll likely split time with Zack Moss as he works back into playing shape.
| Jimmy Garoppolo clears concussion protocol Will start in Week 5 By: Mike Krueger | Oct 6 2023, 5:30 pm
Raiders’ QB Jimmy Garoppolo has cleared concussion protocol and is now expected to start Monday night vs. the Packers. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The Raiders rolled out Aidan O'Connell last week against the Chargers to mixed results (24-39, 238-0-1). With Jimmy G back in the mix, that helps the outlook for the passing game including Jakobi Meyers. The Packers are middle-of-the-road against quarterbacks giving up the 19th most fantasy points to the position.
| Saquon Barkley listed as questionable for Wk5 Ankle injury By: Mike Krueger | Oct 6 2023, 2:18 pm
RB Saquon Barkley is listed as questionable for Sunday vs Dolphins.
LT Andrew Thomas (hamstring), C John Michael Schmitz (shoulder) and G Shane Lemieux (groin) all OUT.
LB Micah McFadden (ankle) also questionable along with TE Daniel Bellinger (knee). (Jordan Raanan on X)
FFToday's Take: Barkley was injured in Week 2 so this would be relatively quick turnaround for a high-ankle sprain. He'll likely be a game time decision but you should probably have plan B in place. Matt Breida hasn't looked great as a fill-in as the Giants offense has largely struggled to move the ball the last couple of weeks. Breida has 47 combined rushing yards the last two weeks.
| Amon-Ra St. Brown won't practice Friday, status unclear Abdomen injury By: Mike Krueger | Oct 6 2023, 11:23 am
Lions’ HC Dan Campbell said WR Amon-Ra St. Brown will not practice again today due to his abdomen injury and the team expects to know more about his status for Sunday’s game vs. the Panthers in the next 24 hours. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: This doesn't sound promising for the Lions leading receiver. Should he sit, it's doesn't seem likely that Jameson Williams will be thrust into a big role, rather the other pass-catchers would soak up ASB's targets.
| Trade: Bears send Chase Claypool to the Dolphins Chicago receivers a 2025 6th round pick from Miami By: Mike Krueger | Oct 6 2023, 10:42 am
Trade! The Chicago Bears are trading WR Chase Claypool to the Miami Dolphins, per league sources. It will be a 2025 6th from Miami for Claypool and a 2025 7th from Chicago. (Dianna Russini on X)
FFToday's Take: Claypool didn't even last a year with the Bears. Let's see if Miami can get something out of the 25 year-old receiver. The Bears have been looking to trade Claypool since he was a healthy scratch last week. They gave up a 2nd Round pick to the Steelers for his services last year. He won't have much fantasy value in Miami as he takes a back seat to Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
| Tee Higgins misses second straight practice Rib injury By: Mike Krueger | Oct 5 2023, 4:28 pm
Bengals WR Tee Higgins (ribs) did not practice for a second straight day.
TE Irv Smith Jr. (hamstring) was a full participant for the first time since he suffered the injury. (Ben Baby on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: It's likely that Higgins is headed for the Inactive list on Sunday but we'll get a better idea of his status after practice Friday. Higgins and the entire Bengals offense has struggled through the first four weeks of the season as quarterback Joe Burrow deals with a calf injury. In his first four games, Higgins has yardage totals of 0, 89, 21 and 19.
| Cooper Kupp back on the practice field Wednesday Will he play in Week 5? By: Mike Krueger | Oct 4 2023, 4:32 pm
Sean McVay says he "feels like Ron Burgundy" reading off the injury report today, which says Cooper Kupp is limited....because Kupp is going through a normal practice today. "He says he feels good, I trust him," adds McVay. Rams will ramp up his workload through the week. (Jourdan Rodrigue on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: A report earlier today suggested Kupp was pushing to play in Week 5 against the Eagles. If he does play, it's reasonable to assume he would be on a snap count. His return would have an effect on the rest of the Rams' receivers including Puka Nacua. We should know more about Kupp's status after practice on Friday.
| Jonathan Taylor expected to practice Wednesday Disgruntled RB has missed first four games while on PUP list By: Doug Orth | Oct 2 2023, 4:30 pm
Colts’ HC Shane Steichen said RB Jonathan Taylor, who has been on the PUP list due to an ankle injury, will practice on Wednesday. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)
FFToday's Take: If only it was as cut and dried as Taylor returning to practice with an eye toward playing in Week 5. There has been nothing to suggest that Taylor has backed off his contract extension demands or any hint that team owner Jim Irsay has any desire to give him one. There is also the small matter of Taylor not having practiced at all since the end of last season. The expectation should be that Taylor will return to play at some point in the next few weeks, but there is no telling how effective he will be when he does or where he will be playing.
| Tee Higgins dealing with rib injury Repotedly fractured rib; hopeful he can play in Week 5 By: Doug Orth | Oct 2 2023, 4:10 pm
Tee Higgins says he does not see his rib injury keeping him out an extended period of time. Could potentially be back this week. Says a matter of soreness and pain tolerance as the rib heals. (The Athletic - Paul Dehner Jr.)
FFToday's Take: While players have played through rib fractures before, it seems unlikely that Cincinnati will push all that hard to put Higgins on the field with its offense struggling so much. Wide receiver is one position where the Bengals have some decent depth, as Tyler Boyd would likely return to a full-time role and rookie Andrei Iosivas would see his first real playing time of the year. Cincinnati's offense has struggled to the point where no receiver outside of Ja'Marr Chase is a must-start.
| Joe Burrow will play in Week 5 Nagging calf injury likely big reason for woeful start By: Doug Orth | Oct 2 2023, 4:00 pm
Zac Taylor says Joe Burrow will start and play this week against the Cardinals. (Kelsey Conway on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Cincinnati's offense scored a mere three touchdowns in four games and Burrow has failed to throw for one score in three of them. Watching him attempt to play through the preseason calf injury he re-tweaked in Week 2 has been tough at times. Unfortunately for the Bengals, their backup option is Jake Browning, who is a 27-year-old backup with one career pass in the NFL to his name. Even against the Cardinals in Week 5, Burrow should be considered no better than a middling QB2 option.
| Deshaun Watson Out for Week 4 with shoulder injury Dorian Thompson-Robinson expected to start By: Mike Krueger | Oct 1 2023, 10:44 am
With Deshaun Watson not being healthy enough to play today, the Browns rookie fifth-round pick QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson now is expected to start vs. the Ravens. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Watson didn't practice much this week and it appears his shoulder isn't going to allow him to play. In his place, Dorian Thompson-Robinson will get the start. He has some rushing ability which gives him a nice floor but will be a risky QB2 play against the Ravens in Week 4.
| Derek Carr expected to start for the Saints Barring a pre-game setback By: Mike Krueger | Oct 1 2023, 7:20 am
Saints’ QB Derek Carr, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a sprained AC joint, is expected to start vs. the Bucs barring a pre-game setback with his shoulder, per source. Carr took the first team reps at practice the past two days. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Doctors said there was no risk to further injury, which means it's only a discomfort and range of motion issue for Carr. He's going to try and give it a go, but this obviously isn't an ideal scenario for the Saints pass catchers. Jameis Winston will be ready on the sidelines should he be called upon.
| Deebo Samuel expected to play Listed as questionable, ribs & knee By: Mike Krueger | Oct 1 2023, 7:10 am
49ers’ WR Deebo Samuel, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a rib and knee injury, is expected to play vs. the Cardinals barring any pre-game setbacks, per source.
49ers’ WR Jauan Jennings (shin) and RB Elijah Mitchell are not expected to play Sunday vs. Cardinals. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Deebo got in a limited practice session on Friday after missing practice Wednesday and Thursday. You might ding his upside but otherwise feel comfortable with him in your starting lineup. Expect to see more of Jordan Mason as the backup running back behind Christian McCaffrey.
| Aidan O’Connell expected to start at QB for Raiders Rookie got most of first team reps By: Mike Krueger | Oct 1 2023, 7:00 am
With veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo out due to a concussion, Las Vegas has decided to start rookie fourth-round pick Aidan O’Connell versus the Chargers, per sources. Raiders’ rookie QB Aidan O'Connell got the majority -- if not all -- of the first-team reps at practice by the end of the week. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The Raiders will turn to rookie QB Aidan O'Connell who played reasonably well in the pre-season, leading all quarterbacks in passer rating. He gets the nod over veteran Brian Hoyer. How much this move affects Davante Adams remains to be seen but he and Jakobi Meyers are riskier plays with the QB rookie in the mix.
| Jimmy Garoppolo out for Week 4 Concussion By: Mike Krueger | Sep 30 2023, 6:15 pm
Raiders ruled out QB Jimmy Garoppolo for Sunday’s game at the Chargers due to the concussion he suffered vs. the Steelers. Garoppolo practiced in limited fashion Thursday and Friday, but was unable to clear protocol in time for Sunday and is not traveling to Los Angeles. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: With Garoppolo on the shelf, the Raiders will go with either rookie Aidan O'Connell or veteran QB Brian Hoyer at quarterback. Either way, this negatively affects the outlook of the entire offense and puts a wet blanket on the fantasy prospects of Josh Jacobs, Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers.
