| Jonathan Taylor wants out of Indianapolis Colts RB has requested a trade By: Mike Krueger | Jul 29 2023, 8:17 pm
|
Sources: #Colts star RB Jonathan Taylor has formally requested a trade after meeting with owner Jim Irsay. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Apparently the meeting between Irsay and Taylor today didn't go well. However, it's also been reported that Taylor's request for a trade happened a few days ago. Taylor is still one of the best backs in the league and is looking to get a new contract. This will obviously have big fantasy implications if Taylor is moved. Stay tuned.

| Ezekiel Elliott taking a visit with the Patriots One of many RBs still looking for work By: Mike Krueger | Jul 29 2023, 10:09 am
|
Source: 2x All-Pro RB Ezekiel Elliott is visiting the #Patriots today.
This could impact the RB-needy AFC East, as well as the Dalvin Cook derby, since he and Elliott are considered the top backs available.
Zeke looked terrific in the videos he posted of his workouts. (Jordan Schultz on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: This is first visit we've heard about for Zeke who is one of the many veteran running backs still looking for work as training camps have begun. The Patriots were rumored to be interested in Dalvin Cook as well. Any signing would ding the upside of Rhamondre Stevenson who's currently sits around RB11 in ADP.

| Joe Burrow leaves practice with calf injury Severity unknown By: Mike Krueger | Jul 27 2023, 4:32 pm
|
There's a lot of speculation out there & some false reports.
Zac Taylor said Joe Burrow suffered a calf injury - he did not specifiy anything else. Nothing about the specifics. We do not know the severity of the injury at all right now. (Kelsey Conway on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Burrow rolled right out of the pocket, then began limping on one leg before sitting down on the ground. Eventually he left the practice field on a cart. We'll have to wait for specifics but it's safe to saw that we may have seen the last of Burrow for the pre-season. Stay tuned...

| Brock Purdy avoids PUP list, cleared for training camp Will be on a pitch count to start camp By: Mike Krueger | Jul 25 2023, 2:08 pm
|
John Lynch: QB Brock Purdy has been medically cleared and has no restrictions to start camp. Will initially be on a "pitch count" and won't practices for three straight days. #49ers (Eric Branch on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: This is good news for Purdy as the 49ers try and work out their quarterback situation. Purdy piled up some respectable stats down the stretch last season but got away with a fair share of questionable throws along the way. However, as long as he remains healthy, it seems Purdy has the leg up on the job over Sam Darnold and Trey Lance.

| Giants, Saquon Barkley agree on one-year deal Barkley gets a chance to earn extra $1 million over franchise tag By: Mike Krueger | Jul 25 2023, 7:00 am
|
The #Giants and star RB Saquon Barkley agreed to terms on a new 1-year deal worth up to $11M, sources say, as Barkley gives himself a chance to beat the franchise tag. He gets a $2M signing bonus.
Bottom line: Barkley is coming in & will be at training camp. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: There will be ho holdout for Barkley who is expected to report to camp today. The franchise tag was worth $10.1 million. Barkley is coming off his second best fantasy season that saw him catch 57 passes. He'll be one of the top running backs off the board in redraft leagues regardless of format.

| Rashod Bateman put on PUP list Received a “cortisone-type” shot in his foot last month By: Doug Orth | Jul 24 2023, 11:30 pm
|
Ravens WR Rashod Bateman was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list to start training camp, per @FieldYates. He has been dealing with a foot injury that caused him to miss the last 9 games of 2022. It wouldn’t be surprising if he missed the first week or two of camp. (ESPN - Jamison Hensley)
FFToday's Take: Bateman cannot seem to buy a break when it comes to his health, as groin injuries as a rookie and a Lisfranc sprain last season have limited him to 18 games through two seasons. Fantasy managers got a taste of what he is capable of early last season with long touchdown catches in the first two games, but the foot injury in Week 4 marked the beginning of the end for him and his fantasy usefulness. Bateman has WR3 upside if he can get right, but Odell Beckham Jr. and rookie Zay Flowers stand to benefit the most if he can't.

| Kadarius Toney will miss practice time, knee injury Expected to be ready for Week 1 By: Mike Krueger | Jul 24 2023, 2:13 pm
|
Wide receiver Kadarius Toney will miss some practice time at Kansas City Chiefs training camp but is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season after aggravating an injury to his knee Sunday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday. Toney, who underwent an offseason cleanup procedure on his knee, was injured while fielding a punt before the start of practice on Sunday. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: This isn't helping Toney's injury-prone label. He's had a rough time staying on the field during his short NFL career, playing in 19 games in two years. He's inline to be a big part of the Chiefs offense but will come with a huge red flag for drafters willing to take on his injury risk.

| Josh Jacobs not expected to report to training camp Has yet to sign his franchise tag By: Mike Krueger | Jul 24 2023, 9:26 am
|
#Raiders RB Josh Jacobs, who hasn’t signed his franchise tender, was spotted this morning boarding a flight leaving Las Vegas.
Jacobs won’t report for training camp Tuesday and has told people close to him that he doesn’t plan to return anytime soon. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: We know from experience that player holdouts typically resolve themselves without any time missed on the field. The running back market is in decline across the league to the point where the players are getting antsy. We'll see how long Jacobs is willing to go with his holdout. Stay tuned...

| Giants add RB James Robinson, WR Cole Beasley to the mix Beasley reunites with Daboll By: Mike Krueger | Jul 21 2023, 3:19 pm
|
Giants now have signed free-agent RB James Robinson and free-agent WR Cole Beasley, who reunites with HC Brian Daboll. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: It's unlikely either of these players have a significant fantasy impact during the season. Robinson is likely being brought onboard to help facilitate training camp if Saquon Barkley is a no-show. Matt Breida and rookie Eric Gray are the current backups. The Giants have an enormous amount of wide receivers on their depth chart with very few defined roles at the moment.

| Ravens sign RB Melvin Gordon, one-year deal 30 year-old RB lands in Baltimore By: Mike Krueger | Jul 21 2023, 12:43 pm
|
A RB deal: Veteran free-agent Melvin Gordon reached agreement today on a one-year deal worth up to $3.1 million with the Baltimore Ravens, per league source. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Gordon (30 years old) finished up last season with the Chiefs and now heads to the Ravens in his 9th season in the league. He'll challenge Gus Edwards for snaps behind J.K. Dobbins and may have the advantage given he's a better pass catcher. Justice Hill currently sits 4th on the depth chart.

| Jets place four players on PUP list including Breece Hall Can be activated anytime By: Mike Krueger | Jul 19 2023, 4:51 pm
|
The #Jets placed RB Breece Hall, WR Randall Cobb, TE C.J. Uzomah and DB Jarrick Bernard-Converse on the PUP list to open training camp. They can be activated anytime. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Hall is recovering from a torn ACL that occurred in mid-October last season so this move isn't unexpected. He showed big-play ability in his rookie season as well as solid usage in the passing game, giving him RB1 upside when healthy. The Jets have reportedly had some interest in free agent Dalvin Cook but nothing is imminent.

|
| Leonard Fournette working out for Patriots on Wednesday Worked out for New England last off-season as well By: Mike Krueger | Jul 19 2023, 12:46 pm
|
Veteran RB Leonard Fournette is working out today for the #Patriots, per sources.
Lombardi Lenny won a Super Bowl with Tom Brady in Tampa. Now Brady’s old team is taking a look. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Fournette worked out for the Patriots last Spring before receiving a call from Tom Brady who eventually lured him to Tampa Bay for the 2022 season. New England has been rumored to be kicking the tires on Dalvin Cook so it appears they have legitimate interest in adding to their running back room. Any signing would deflate the value of Rhamondre Stevenson.

| Skyy Moore the favorite to assume slot duties in KC Posted 22-250-0 line as rookie in 2022 By: Doug Orth | Jul 17 2023, 10:15 pm
|
The top slot receiver option appears to be Skyy Moore, the second-year player who will try to replace some of the production that JuJu Smith-Schuster generated last season. Moore was one of the best performers during mandatory minicamp last month.
“Skyy’s worked real hard this offseason,” HC Andy Reid said then. “He looks like he’s on the same page with (Patrick Mahomes). He’s doing a nice job. Let’s keep on advancing as we go. He’ll do that because he’s wired right to do that.” (The Athletic - Nate Taylor)
FFToday's Take: The expectation is that Moore will start the season in the slot, although rookie Rashee Rice and/or Richie James could make it hard for him to keep the job. Travis Kelce logged more snaps in the slot (343) than any other Chief last year, including Smith-Schuster (270), although the latter was easily the team's most productive wide receiver (78-933-3). Moore is highly unlikely to match that level of production in 2023, but a primarily slot receiver in a Patrick Mahomes-led offense is worth stashing as a WR5 option late in drafts.

| Josh Jacobs unable to get long-term deal done Reigning rushing champ unlikely to take part in camp By: Doug Orth | Jul 17 2023, 10:10 pm
|
The #Raiders and star RB Josh Jacobs did not reach a deal despite extensive negotiations. Now it’s unclear when he’ll show to play on the tag. (NFL Network - Ian Rapoport)
FFToday's Take: Jacobs will not get fined for missing any practices since he did not sign the franchise tag. For his part, Jacobs has reportedly stated he could sit out training camp. He also mentioned earlier in the summer that one of his goals was to help his fellow running backs fight back against the devaluation of the position. Jacobs should see another huge workload in 2023 if/when he signs, but he is at increased risk of breaking down after handling 393 touches last season.

|
| No long-term deal for Saquon Barkley NYG RB has yet to sign franchise tag, could miss training camp By: Doug Orth | Jul 17 2023, 10:00 pm
|
No deal for the #Giants and star RB Saquon Barkley, with talks going down to the wire and the best efforts made to strike a compromise. He’ll play on the tag, but the question is when. (NFL Network - Ian Rapoport)
FFToday's Take: Since Barkley has yet to sign the tag, he will not get fined for missing training camp - if he chooses to do so. He has also reportedly threatened to sit out into the season. It seems unlikely Barkley would go that far, but fantasy managers need to account for that possibility when they consider drafting him this summer. The Giants hold the leverage for now, but they need a happy and healthy Barkley to have any chance of making a deep postseason run in 2023.

| DeAndre Hopkins expected to sign two-year deal with TEN Base salary of $12 million in the first year By: Mike Krueger | Jul 16 2023, 2:30 pm
|
The Tennessee Titans are expected to sign free agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to a two-year deal which is expected to be complete over the next few days. It would give Hopkins a base salary of $12 million in the first year and could reach up to $15 million with incentives, sources told Russini. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: Tennessee is definitely in need of star power at the wide position and they'll get it in the form of Hopkins who has been in the league for 10 seasons. The question is, how much does Hopkins have left in the tank? Is he capable being a fantasy WR1 in the Titans offense alongside Treylon Burks? He's probably best slotted as a WR2, while taking a good chunk of shine off Burks.

| Bengals, Mixon agree on restructured contract RB sticks in Cincinnati at a reduced salary By: Mike Krueger | Jul 14 2023, 7:55 pm
|
The #Bengals and RB Joe Mixon are finalizing a restructured contract that will keep him in Cincinnati for the 2023 season, per sources.
Mixon was due $10.1 million this season with a $12.791M cap number. The new deal frees up cash and cap for Cincinnati, and Mixon stays as RB1. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: The Bengals were looking to adjust Mixon's contract and the possibility of a release was a real thing. In the end, Mixon agreed to a lower salary while saving the team some $ under the cap. Despite a subpar 2022 season, Mixon is likely to lead the team in running back touches and has been slightly undervalued in early-season best ball drafts.

| Alvin Kamara pleads no contest to misdemeanor charge Reduced charge could mean shorter suspension? By: Mike Krueger | Jul 11 2023, 1:44 pm
|
Alvin Kamara has agreed to plead guilty to a lesser misdemeanor charge for his alleged role in a 2022 Las Vegas fight. The felony charge is going away. Kamara is still subject to a possible suspension by the NFL, which has punished several players in the past even when they weren’t convicted or charges were dropped. But this should pave the way for league to hand out discipline. (Mike Triplett on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: What the discipline is remains to be seen but the reduced charge could lead to a shorter suspension. Kamara will have be subject o 30 hours of community service and pay the victim $100K for medical bills. The Saints have added Jamaal Williams and rookie Kendre Miller to their running back room giving them plenty of depth the whether any kind of Kamara suspension.

| Javonte Williams optimistic about camp availabilty Continuing rehab on serious Week 4 knee injury By: Doug Orth | Jul 10 2023, 11:20 pm
|
Denver Broncos RB Javonte Williams, who suffered a torn ACL in Week 4 last season, said Sunday "the plan" is for him to be cleared for the start of training camp and to participate at least some in practices after the team's veteran players report July 25.
Asked Sunday at a football camp he hosted with Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II if he would be medically cleared for training camp, Williams said: "I mean, that's the plan. I feel like I'm ready to go." (ESPN - Jeff Legwold)
FFToday's Take: For his part, Surtain told ESPN's Jeff Legwold that Williams "looks good." Caution needs to be exercised with Williams as he hopes to avoid becoming yet another running back who struggles in the first year after blowing out his knee. Denver appears committed to getting Samaje Perine plenty of work regardless of Williams' health, but there's no question the latter can still be a fantasy RB2 if he is truly all the way back. The odds are that he will be worked in slowly this season, making him more of a risky low-end RB2 option.

| Jonathan Taylor healthy entering training camp RB is "healed up" By: Doug Orth | Jul 10 2023, 11:00 pm
|
Running back Jonathan Taylor missed time with an ankle injury and he had surgery to address the injury this offseason. That kept him from taking part in the team’s offseason program, but Jim Irsay said on The Pat McAfee Show that Taylor is “healed up ” with training camp set to start later this month. (Pro Football Talk - Josh Alper)
FFToday's Take: The likelihood is that Taylor has been healthy for at least a month, but this is just the latest reminder that high-ankle sprains are no joke and often take months to heal. The addition of the supremely athletic Anthony Richardson figures to boost Taylor's efficiency behind what has become an average-at-best line and may be just what he needs to return to overall RB1 status. Taylor's receiving numbers are sure to plummet, but he should be a good bet for well over 300 carries in what should be one of the most run-heavy offenses in the league.

| Miles Sanders looking for a three-down role Frank Reich: “Want (him) to be on the field all three downs” By: Mike Krueger | Jul 8 2023, 8:00 am
|
Sanders wants to be more than a first- and second-down back. "I’m looking forward to getting back into that three-down-type back and just flow with it and see what happens. I think it’ll happen organically just by the coaches that we have here,” Sanders said recently.” Frank Reich: “We really look for that in that No. 1 spot. Want (him) to be on the field all three downs.” (The Athletic)
FFToday's Take: Sanders has been limited in the passing game the last three years in Philadelphia after totaling 50 receptions in his rookie campaign back in 2019. It's in his range of outcomes to hit that mark again in Carolina which would make him a bargain at his current ADP (RB21 in half-PPR leagues). Overall team efficiently is going to be a concern with a rookie quarterback at the helm but at least the head coach speak is positive on returning Sanders to a three-down role.

| Hassan Haskins charged with aggravated assault Court date set for July 10th By: Mike Krueger | Jun 30 2023, 5:47 pm
|
More trouble in Nashville. #Titans RB Hassan Haskins has been charged with aggravated assault by strangulation. (Turron Davenport on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: The Titans running back reportedly got into two separate arguments with his girlfriend and both were arrested. Haskins has posted bond and has a court date set for July 10th. Who knows what discipline action will be by the Titans or league but this situation isn't going away anytime soon.

| Dolphins make offer to Dalvin Cook Free agent RB not likely to sign anytime soon By: Mike Krueger | Jun 27 2023, 7:40 pm
|
The Dolphins have made an offer to free agent running back Dalvin Cook, but he’s holding off on a decision for now, a source close to the situation told The Miami Herald. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported this week that Cook has generated significant interest and has offers from multiple teams. But Cook apparently doesn’t have an offer that fully meets his financial expectations. And he’s willing to wait awhile, perhaps beyond the start of training camp, according to Pelissero. (Miami Herald)
FFToday's Take: Other teams reportedly interested in Cook include the New York Jets, Patriots and Broncos. Cook has expressed casual interest this off-season in the Dolphins who already have six running backs on the roster including Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson and rookie Devon Achane. The free agent running back market is flush with veterans including Ezekiel Elliot, Kareem Hunt and Leonard Fournette.

| Rams bring back RB Sony Michel, one-year deal Rams add veteran presence behind Cam Akers By: Mike Krueger | Jun 20 2023, 2:40 pm
|
Rams are bringing back veteran running back Sony Michel. It’s a one-year deal, per source. Michel is a great veteran presence to have in that group, which the Rams didn’t have to start last year and really could have used. He knows the system, is a total pro, and can take some of those complementary shorter-yardage snaps if needed. That’s what this seems like. (Jourdan Rodrigue on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Michel's presence shouldn't be a big threat to Cam Akers workload but he take away some looks around the goaline. Assuming he cracks the roster post-camp, he'll likely slide in as the No.2 running back ahead of Zach Evans and Kyren Williams.

| Stefon Diggs a no-show at Bills mandatory minicamp HC Sean McDermott is "very concerned" By: Mike Krueger | Jun 13 2023, 12:22 pm
|
Bills star wide receiver Stefon Diggs didn’t participate in or attend the team’s mandatory minicamp session Tuesday, leading Buffalo coach Sean McDermott to say he’s "very concerned" by the wideout’s absence. McDermott wouldn’t go any further into the situation after Tuesday’s practice on whether it was an excused absence. (The Athletic)
FFToday's Take: This is a curious situation considering Diggs just had has contract re-worked this past March and set to make $24 million this season. He left abruptly after the team's loss to the Bengals in the playoffs and hasn't attended any of the team's off-season workouts. Stay tuned...

|
| Saquon Barkley not expected to attend minicamp Giants RB has yet to sign franchise tag By: Mike Krueger | Jun 12 2023, 8:52 am
|
Saquon Barkley and the New York Giants have until July 17 to come to a long-term contract, or the running back will play 2023 under the $10.1 million franchise tag. Unless he sits out the entire season. Barkley told reporters Sunday following his youth football camp in Jersey City that sitting out the campaign is an option he'd consider if it comes to that. (NFL.com)
FFToday's Take: These contract disputes with franchise-tagged players typically get resolved so there's no need to panic about Barkley sitting out the season. The current situation is, he's yet to sign his franchise tag and isn't expected to attend mandatory minicamp this week. Stay tuned...

| Dalvin Cook expected to be released on Friday Miami and Denver expected to be in the mix for Cook By: Mike Krueger | Jun 8 2023, 9:56 am
|
The #Vikings and four-time Pro Bowl RB Dalvin Cook are parting ways, per source.
One of the NFL’s most dynamic playmakers, Cook is coming off a fourth straight 1,000-yard season and has 52 career TDs. Now he’ll be a free agent at age 27 and will have multiple suitors. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: We've heard the rumblings all off-season and now it appears Cook's release is imminent barring a last-minute trade. According to Adam Schefter, Miami and Denver are expected to be interested in the soon-to-be free agent. Cook (27) has battled shoulder issues throughout his career but has poster four-straight 1000-yard rushing seasons and has been a solid fantasy RB2 during that span. We wait for his landing spot...

| Cardinals release WR DeAndre Hopkins No trade partner found By: Mike Krueger | May 26 2023, 1:11 pm
|
DeAndre Hopkins now becomes a free agent and instead of being traded, can sign anywhere he wants. (Adam Schefter in Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Trade rumors have surrounded Hopkins this off-season but it appears no suitor could be found. Hopkins is joe free to negotiate a deal with any team. The Bills and the Chiefs have been connected with the veteran receiver but a number of WR needy teams are likely to kick the tires.

| Lions pickup K Riley Patterson in trade with Jaguars Jags get 2026 conditional seventh-round pick By: Mike Krueger | May 25 2023, 4:29 pm
|
Before the Jaguars released kicker Riley Patterson, they agreed to trade him to the Detroit Lions for a late-round draft choice. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Kicker news! The Jaguars signed recently released Brandon McManus (DEN) which made Patterson expendable. Patterson was 30 for 35 (84.4%) in field goals last season and has missed just one extra point in two seasons. Mike Badgley is currently on the roster in Detroit but maybe not for long.

| Jimmy G had foot surgery in March Might be out until the beginning of training camp By: Mike Krueger | May 25 2023, 1:21 pm
|
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo underwent surgery on his injured left foot after signing a free agent contract with the team in March, a league source confirmed to ESPN.
"All trending great," a source said. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: This didn't seem to come a surprise to head coach Josh McDaniels who didn't have much to say on the subject when speaking to the media today. Garoppolo is not expected to take part in OTA practices and could be out until training camp. This isn't an ideal situation for a quarterback changing teams but it's nothing to panic over if you're currently a Garoppolo owner.

| Broncos release K Brandon McManus Veteran kicker had been with the team since 2014 By: Mike Krueger | May 23 2023, 11:40 am
|
A surprise: the Broncos informed kicker Brandon McManus, the last remaining member of Denver’s last Super Bowl team, and the man who has kicked for the team since 2014, that they are releasing him, per sources. There’s now an added veteran kicker for kicker-needy teams. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: The Cowboys are also without a veteran kicker so perhaps there will be some interest in Dallas. McManus played all 17 games last season but finished 22nd among kickers in total fantasy points. His 77.8% field goal percentage ranked 28th among qualifiers but many misses came from beyond 50 yards.

| Matt Ryan heading to the broadcast booth Will join CBS this season By: Mike Krueger | May 15 2023, 10:01 am
|
Excited to join the @NFLonCBS family! Looking forward to breaking down the game this season.
P.S. - this is not a retirement post (Matt Ryan on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Ryan remains a free agent after spending last season with the Colts but it appears he will not be playing on the field in 2023, and instead join the CBS crew in the booth. Ryan (37) played 12 games for the Colts last season, tossing 14 TDs and 13 INTs while throwing for 3057 yards.

| Good chance Javonte Williams won't start camp on PUP Recovering from ACL injury By: Mike Krueger | May 15 2023, 9:52 am
|
Some positive news from the #broncos this weekend. RB Javonte Williams is doing "extremely well" per Sean Payton with his rehab from last season's knee injury. Payton expects him to be ready for the start of training camp and the team believes there's a good chance he won't be starting camp on PUP. (James Palmer on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: The Broncos RB suffered a torn ACL in early October of last season. His recovery will be closely watched as the team brought in Samaje Perine this off-season to fill the gap until Williams is ready. Even if Williams is ready to play by Week 1, he's likely not going to be in workhorse role making Perine a solid value in early Best Ball leagues.

| Bills add Latavius Murray to running back room One-year deal By: Mike Krueger | May 1 2023, 9:56 am
|
Bills signed veteran RB Latavius Murray to a one-year deal. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Murray continues to hang around the league, filling in for the Broncos and Saints last season. He'll be third on the depth chart in Buffalo behind James Cook and Damien Harris and have little fantasy value unless Cook or Harris succumb to injury. Murray is 33 years old.

| Lions trade D'Andre Swift to the Eagles Detroit receives 2025 4th-round pick By: Mike Krueger | Apr 29 2023, 1:14 pm
|
The #Lions are trading starting RB D'Andre Swift, sources tell me and @TomPelissero, sending him to the #Eagles in exchange for draft pick compensation. With David Montgomery and now first-rounder Jahmyr Gibbs, Swift heads out. Detroit gets a 2025 4th-round pick and they’ll swap seventh-round picks with #Lions getting 219, per source. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: It seemed likely that Swift would be on the move after the Lions were overjoyed in selecting rookie Jahmyr Gibbs with the 12th pick in the draft. Swift has been a tantalizing player but has had his share of injuries during his brief three-year career. The Lions refused to give him a steady workload and it's doubtful he'll get that opportunity in Philadelphia as they run a RBBC scheme. The Eagles added Rashaad Penny in free agency as well.

| Ravens and Lamar Jackson agree on five-year deal $185 million guaranteed By: Mike Krueger | Apr 27 2023, 5:11 pm
|
Compensation update: Lamar Jackson’s five-year deal is worth $260 million, including $185 million guaranteed, per sources. On an average per year basis, it makes Jackson the NFL’s new highest-paid player. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: The total value of the contract doesn't mean much. It's the guaranteed money that is significant. With no other team willing to give an offer, the Ravens were the only real option and it seems this is a compromise on both sides. Back in mix in Baltimore through the 2027 season, Lamar will continue to be a top fantasy five fantasy option at the quarterback position.

| Deal finally gets done: Aaron Rodgers to the Jets Packers move up two spots in Round 1, also get 2nd round pick By: Mike Krueger | Apr 24 2023, 4:17 pm
|
Trade compensation, per sources:
Jets get:
🏈Aaron Rodgers, pick No. 15, a 2023 5th-rd pick (No. 170).
Packers get:
🏈Pick No. 13, a 2023 2nd-rd pick (No. 42), a 6th-rd pick (No. 207), a conditional 2024 2nd-rd pick that becomes a 1st if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the plays. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: We knew the deal involving Aaron Rodgers was coming and now it's complete. The teams swap first round picks with Green Bay also receiving a 2nd and 6th round picks in 2023 plus a conditional 2024 2nd round pick. The Jets get a viable quarterback to compete in the stacked AFC while Green Bay will move forward with Jordan Love. Both QBs have some viable high-end QB2 upside but lack QB1 juice.

| Lions WR Jameson Williams suspended 6 games Violating the NFL gambling policy By: Mike Krueger | Apr 21 2023, 11:29 am
|
Four Lions players, including 2022 first-round pick Jameson Williams, were among five players leaguewide to be suspended for violating the NFL's gambling policy after an investigation by the league. Lions wide receiver Quintez Cephus and safety C.J. Moore have been suspended indefinitely for betting on NFL games, as was Washington Commanders defensive end Shaka Toney. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: Williams is being suspended for six games for betting on college games at the NFL team facility. Cephus has been released. Williams played in only six games last season, working his way back from an ACL tear and managed just once catch... a 41-yard TD. His expected fantasy outlook has taken a big hit with this suspension.

Full terms: The #Rams send Allen Robinson and a 2023 seventh-round pick (No. 251) to the #Steelers for a 2023 seventh-round pick (No. 234).
Pittsburgh picks up $5 million of Robinson's 2023 compensation, with L.A. paying the other $10.25M. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Robinson played 10 games for the Rams in 2022 which resulted in a 33-339-3 line, failing miserably as the high-end WR2, low-end WR three that some were projecting in the preseason. Diontae Johnson and George Pickens are expected to be the top two wideouts leaving Robinson to battle tight end Pat Freiermuth for targets in a mediocre offense.

| Miami adds another receiver, Chosen Anderson One-year deal By: Mike Krueger | Apr 16 2023, 10:00 am

Former #Panthers and #AZCardinals WR Chosen Anderson is signing a 1-year deal with the #Dolphins, source said. Another weapon on offense. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: The artist formerly known as Robbie Anderson is signing with Miami giving the Dolphins depth at the receiver position behind Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and Cedrick Wilson. Anderson bounced between Arizona and Carolina last season but totaled just 20 catches, 221 yards and 1 TD. His fantasy value is minimal unless the Dolphins decided to part ways with Wilson.
