DeAndre Hopkins suffered a strained knee injury Wednesday or Thursday and indications are he could miss four to six weeks. If he returns to action after four weeks he'd have a full week to prepare for the season-opener in Chicago. Six weeks out would mean he'd miss the Bears' game and could be ready just before the Week Two home opener against the Jets. Though a precautious six weeks out could mean two games missed. FFToday's Take: Those drafting early should brace for a two-game absence from Hopkins as he recovers from this knee issue. Tennessee is expected to open up it's passing game this season but maybe without it's top receiver to start the season. Calvin Ridley, Tyler Boyd and Treylon Burks figure to be the top three receivers should Hopkins miss any games.

Herbert has already had his fantasy expectations lowered as the Chargers figure to be a run-heavy team under Jim Harbaugh. This injury won't help his cause for being anything more than mid-range QB2. Cleveland Browns running back D'Onta Foreman was expected to be released from a hospital Thursday after sustaining a neck injury during a kickoff drill in practice. The team said X-rays and other imaging tests were negative and the 28-year-old will return to the team. (WSLS.com)
FFToday's Take: A scary situation for the Browns as Foreman took a hit to the head but it appears a serious injury was avoided as he's expected to return to the team soon. Foreman was added to the roster this off-season as insurance for Nick Chubb is working his way back from a knee injury suffered last September. Foreman doesn't have much fantasy value unless Chubb begins the season on the PUP list.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has been wearing a protective boot on his right foot because of a foot sprain, a person with knowledge of his health told The Dallas Morning News.
The person said the injury isn’t serious and Prescott has worn the boot for a week. The injury became known when a picture was taken of Prescott walking with his girlfriend while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas. (Dallas Morning News)

A record deal: the Vikings and three-time Pro-Bowl WR Justin Jefferson reached agreement on a four-year, $140 million contract extension that includes $110 million guaranteed and makes him not only the highest-paid WR in NFL history, but the highest-paid non-QB in NFL history, sources tell ESPN.
Jefferson’s deal includes $88.743 million due at signing, the highest non-QB guarantee at signing in NFL history. And it resets the WR market.

Tank Dell suffers minor wound in shooting incident

Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell was shot in Sanford, Florida, shortly after midnight Sunday morning according to the Texans. Dell was a bystander during a shooting at a private event in Sanford where a teenage gunman wounded 10 people after an altercation. A Texans spokesperson said Dell isn't seriously injured and was released from the hospital and is traveling back to Houston today.
In a statement, the team said Dell has a "minor wound." (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: It appears none of the 10 victims have life-threatening injuries including Dell who is currently re-habbing after breaking is led on the football field last December. It doesn't appear this latest incident is serious but we should get further details in the coming days.

Breaking news from NFL Media: Cardinals are trading WR Rondale Moore to the Falcons for QB Desmond Ridder.
Arizona has its backup to Kyler Murray and says goodbye to a receiver who was likely going to be its fourth or fifth man on the WR depth chart. (Bob McManaman on X)
FFToday's Take: The Falcons are overhauling their offense and now have Drake London, Darnell Mooney and Moore as their top wide receivers to go along with TE Kyle Pitts. Moore doesn't carry a lot of fantasy juice given he's likely fourth at best in the offensive gameplan but could have some spiked weeks in the right situation.

Sources: The #Titans are signing #Jaguars star WR Calvin Ridley, completing their FA with a splash. A stunner!! The 29-year old Ridley gets a 4-year, $92M deal with $50M fully guaranteed on a contract negotiated by @DavidMulugheta and Reza Hesam of @AthletesFirst. (Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: Two main suitors for Ridley were reported to be New England and Jacksonville. Apparently, the Titans had other ideas. Tennessee's new OC Nick Holz was with Ridley in Jacksonville last season and may of had some say in the negotiations. Ridley disappeared at times last season but did manage over 1000 yards and 8 TDs finishing as the WR27 in PPR leagues. He joins DeAndre Hopkins and Tony Pollard in the new look Titans offense that will have Will Levis at quarterback - if the Titans don't select a QB at pick No.7.

Sources: The #Chargers are releasing WR Mike Williams, making him a free agent. Williams, on the books for a $32M cap hit, becomes a top FA WR available. The Chargers would like to bring him back, but Mike Williams will test the market. (Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: The Chargers needed to make this move (saves $20M in cap space) in order to get under the cap. Williams is coming off a September ACL injury and has topped 1000 yards just twice in his seven-year career. At age 29, he will likely have a decent market as one of the lone big-bodied receivers available.

FFToday's Take: Johnson was entering the final year of his deal with the Steelers. The Panthers are in desperate need of wide receiver help as they try to get some weapons for QB Bryce Young. This move makes Johnson the clear No.1 wide receiver in Carolina but his fantasy value will be shaky as we wait for the Panthers offense to turn around.
