| Christian McCaffrey feeling fine HC shoots down talk of RB being bothered by quad issue By: Doug Orth | Jan 23 2024, 10:00 pm
For the 49ers, the good news is that running back Christian McCaffrey had another great game in the divisional round against the Packers, with 98 rushing yards on 17 carries, 30 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The better news is that he’s healthy, even though some thought he might not be. On Monday, coach Kyle Shanahan was asked about TV images showing McCaffrey getting his quad worked on. Is there an issue with it?
“No, I heard about that on the TV [broadcast] because some of my family members asked me about it,” Shanahan said. “But that’s just what Christian to me always does. He’s always working on his body and stuff. I was told nothing about his quad.” (Pro Football Talk - Mike Florio)
FFToday's Take: The broadcast showed up after getting quad worked on early in the game. One would have to think the 49ers would have made getting Elijah Mitchell more work if CMC's health against Green Bay was much of an issue. McCaffrey's biggest obstacle this week figures to be Detroit's run defense, although he should be able to make up for it with his work in the passing game. McCaffrey is always a big part of the offense, but his presence could be even more important this week if Deebo Samuel (shoulder) cannot play.

| Nick Chubb likely staying put in 2024 RB due $15+ M for 2024 and rehabbing serious knee injury By: Doug Orth | Jan 22 2024, 6:40 pm
GM Andrew Berry said the intention is to bring RB Nick Chubb back for the 2024 season, despite the knee injury, contract situation. (ESPN.com - Jake Trotter)
FFToday's Take: It is surprising Cleveland would consider a world without Chubb if his knee checks out next summer. With that said, he is due to make more than $15 million in 2024, so the case to move on has some merit. The most likely scenario, which assumes Chubb is physically able, is that the Browns and the soon-to-be 28-year-old agree to a restructured contract. For what it is worth, Chubb is reportedly doing well in his recovery.

| Lions add veteran TE Zach Ertz Brock Wright suffers forearm injury By: Mike Krueger | Jan 22 2024, 11:13 am
Three-time Pro Bowl TE Zach Ertz is signing with the #Lions, per sources.
Ertz will start out on the practice squad, with plans to potentially elevate him for the NFC Championship Game. A boost for the final stretch. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: Backup tight end Brock Wright suffered a forearm injury against the Bucs and starting tight end Sam LaPorta is playing through a knee injury. Ertz will likely be elevated from the practice squad in order to play for the Conference Championship game but won't be a fantasy factor unless LaPorta suffers an injury.

| Deebo uncertain after shoulder injury against Packers Injured same shoulder in Week 6 By: Mike Krueger | Jan 21 2024, 1:00 am
Deebo Samuel's official status is uncertain but he was in good spirits after sustaining a left shoulder injury the 49ers' 24-21 NFC divisional round win over the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night at Levi's Stadium.
“I’m OK,” Samuel told NBC Sports Bay Area after the win as he joked with 49ers teammates in the locker room. (NBCSportsBayArea.com)
FFToday's Take: Deebo injured the same shoulder in Week 6 and didn't play again until Week 10. This injury doesn't seem as serious but we'll have to wait until later next week before we know if he's going to the play in the NFC Championship game. He played only 9 snaps against the Packers. Chris Conley and Ray-Ray McCloud both saw extra work in Deebo's absence.

| Gabriel Davis Out for Divisional playoff game Bills down starting receiver By: Mike Krueger | Jan 19 2024, 11:37 am
Coach McDermott on @WGR550 said Gabe Davis, Taylor Rapp, Christian Benford and Baylon Spector have been declared out for Sunday's Divisional Playoff. Everyone else will likely be game-time decisions on Sunday evening. #Bills (Chris Brown on X)
FFToday's Take: Davis missed last week with a knee injury suffered in Week 18 and didn't practice this week. Khalil Shakir will be a viable fantasy Flex or salary relief option this week. The Chiefs gave up the third fewest fantasy points to receivers during the regular season.

| Mark Andrews listed as Questionable Practiced in full on Thursday and Friday By: Mike Krueger | Jan 18 2024, 4:09 pm
Ravens injury report vs Texans
🏈TE Mark Andrews is questionable after his second straight full practice
🏈CB Marlon Humphrey and WR Tylan Wallace have been ruled out
🏈WR Zay Flowers and OLB Odafe Oweh not given any injury designations after full practices (Jamison Hensley on X)
FFToday's Take: Andrews seems to be on the right side of Questionable but we likely won't know until inactives come out on Saturday. The fact that he got in two full practices this week is encouraging. If he does play, it's hard to see him taking on a full workload in his first game back which would mean splitting time with Isaiah Likely.

| Christian McCaffrey logs full practice on Tuesday RB fully healed following Week 17 mild calf strain By: Doug Orth | Jan 16 2024, 11:30 pm
Christian McCaffrey is healed from his calf injury and fully ready for this playoff practice week, Kyle Shanahan says. (The Athletic - David Lombardi)
FFToday's Take: McCaffrey's injury was deemed minor shortly after it happened. Today's practice will be his first on-field work of any kind in about 2 1/2 weeks, which apparently was enough time for CMC to recover. Barring an in-game setback, expect McCaffrey to handle his usual 20-plus touches and finish as the highest-scoring running fantasy back on the slate in the NFC Divisional Round game against the Green Bay Packers this weekend.

| Mark Andrews getting close to a return TE has been sidelined since Week 11 ankle/leg injury By: Doug Orth | Jan 16 2024, 9:20 pm
TE Mark Andrews (ankle) had a good day at practice, per head coach John Harbaugh. "He really took a big step," Harbaugh said, while adding that "we'll see how it goes" when asked if Andrews could play Saturday against the Texans. Andrews, who was designated to return from injured reserve last week, has not played since suffering a serious ankle injury in Week 11 against the Bengals. (Around the NFL)
FFToday's Take: Andrews should still be considered a bit of a longshot for this weekend, but that could change with another strong practice on Wednesday. Whether it is him or Isaiah Likely handling the majority of snaps this weekend, DFS players and fantasy managers alike should be optimistic about his upside considering Houston gave up a league-high-tying 107 catches to tight ends during the regular season and another 11 in the AFC Wild Card Game last week.

| Atlanta discusses HC job with Bill Belichick "Mutual interest and conversations are ongoing" By: Doug Orth | Jan 15 2024, 11:00 pm
Legendary coach Bill Belichick and #Falcons owner Arthur Blank met in person recently to discuss Atlanta’s head coaching job, per sources.
No deal is imminent. But there is mutual interest and conversations are ongoing. (NFL Network - Tom Pelissero)
FFToday's Take: We don't typically deal with unemployed coaches meeting with teams here, but perhaps the best coach in NFL history going to Atlanta would be mind-blowing for many reasons. One would have to think Belichick and his staff would better utilize the Falcons' offensive weapons (Bijan Robinson, Drake London and Kyle Pitts) than Arthur Smith did. Belichick should have no shortage of teams interested in his services over the next few weeks, but Atlanta is one of the juicier ones because it would likely unlock a ton of fantasy talent.

| Kareem Hunt hoping for return to Cleveland Impending FA open to other teams as well By: Doug Orth | Jan 15 2024, 8:10 pm
RB Kareem Hunt, who will be a free agent again, said he “loves Cleveland” and “loves the organization” and would definitely be interested in coming back. But he said he will consider other opportunities this offseason as well. Hunt led the Browns with 9 TD runs. (ESPN.com - Jake Trotter)
FFToday's Take: The Browns opted for Hunt over Jerome Ford near the goal line most of the season. Why they felt the need to put Ford in a committee with Hunt showing next to no big-play ability is another story. Hunt's long run on 135 rush attempts was 16 yards. His biggest play on 15 receptions was 13 yards. At this point of his career, Hunt is little more than a true backup. He may need to wait until after the start of next season to find a job for a second straight year.

| Torn ACL expected for Rams' TE Tyler Higbee MRI will be done today By: Mike Krueger | Jan 15 2024, 7:00 am
Rams believe TE Tyler Higbee tore his ACL after absorbing a low hit from Detroit safety Kerby Joseph, per sources. There will be additional testing to confirm the initial diagnosis. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Higbee took a shot to the knee in the Rams Wildcard game against the Lions. He'll likely be out for most of the off-season and be questionable for the start of the 2024 season. Davis Allen had 2 catches for 28 yards in relief.
| Sam LaPorta trending towards playing against Rams Knee injury By: Mike Krueger | Jan 14 2024, 9:00 am
#Lions Pro Bowl rookie TE Sam LaPorta, who suffered a bone bruise and hyperextended knee, is trending in the right direction to play vs the #Rams, per me and @TomPelissero. Very limited in practice, LaPorta will likely wear a brace. But he intends to be out there with his team. (Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: Travis Kelce played through a similar issue this season and was obviously limited. This situation makes LaPorta a risky fantasy play in Wildcard Weekend despite the great matchup against the Rams defense that's allowed the 7th most fantasy points to tight ends.
| Gametime decision for Christian Watson Hamstring injury By: Mike Krueger | Jan 14 2024, 8:08 am
#Packers WR Christian Watson, out since Dec. 3, will work out pregame to test his hamstring and determine if he can play today, source said. For the first time in a month, there is some optimism that he can go. But the workout is key.
Star CB Jaire Alexander is viewed as 50/50. (Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: Watson has battled hamstring issues all season, playing in only nine regular season games as a result. He last played in Week 13 but did get in limited practices all week. Even if he plays, he'll be hard to trust in lineups unless we get reports that he won't be limited.

| Bills, Steelers game moved to Monday at 4:30 PM Eastern Bad weather conditions By: Mike Krueger | Jan 13 2024, 12:03 pm
NY Gov. Kathy Hochul has just announced at a news conference that the #Bills vs. #Steelers game is postponed to Monday at 4:30 PM. (Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: The weather concerns for Buffalo on Sunday were enough to push the game back a day. There will now be two games on Sunday (GB @ DAL, LAR @ DET) and two on Monday (PIT @ BUF, PHI @ TB).

| A.J. Brown out for Wildcard Weekend Could play in Divisional Round if Eagles win By: Mike Krueger | Jan 13 2024, 10:08 am
#Eagles WR A.J. Brown (knee) has been ruled out for Monday night’s playoff game at the Bucs, an NFL source confirmed.
Brown had yet to practice this week because of a knee sprain he suffered in the season finale. If the Eagles advance there’s a chance he could play in the divisional round. (Jeff McLane on X)
FFToday's Take: Brown went down with a knee injury in Week 18 and will this week's game against the Buccaneers. The Eagles have been on a downward spiral the last few weeks, losing five out of their last six games and QB Jalen Hurts dislocated a finger on his throwing hand. Expect Julio Jones to see more snaps with Brown out. DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert should be the two highest targeted players for Philadelphia on Monday.

| Ravens designate TE Mark Andrews return from IR Ankle injury By: Mike Krueger | Jan 12 2024, 12:42 pm
Ravens TE Mark Andrews has been designated to return and is out on the practice field. He’s looking good moving around in warmups. (Jamison Hensley on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: This is good news for the Ravens as they've missed Andrews since he injured his ankle in mid-November. He's not a lock to play in the divisional round, but this designation gives him the opportunity. Andrews is worth a late-round selection in best ball style playoff leagues.
| Gabriel Davis out for Wildcard Weekend Bills down a key piece on offense By: Mike Krueger | Jan 12 2024, 11:24 am
Bills HC Sean McDermott has declared WR Gabriel Davis (knee) and S Taylor Rapp (calf) OUT against the Steelers Sunday. (Joe Buscaglia on X)
FFToday's Take: The Bills have turned to their running game over the last few weeks, which has kept Josh Allen to 30 or fewer pass attempts in three out of his last four games. Without Davis, expect more looks for tight ends and Khalil Shakir and Trent Sherfield, but the heavy lifting in the offense will be done by Allen, James Cook, Stefon Diggs and TE Dalton Kincaid.
| Jaylen Waddle, Raheem Mostert listed as Questionable Both limited all week By: Mike Krueger | Jan 11 2024, 4:26 pm
#Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle and RB Raheem Mostert are officially listed as questionable for Saturday night’s playoff vs. Kansas City. CB Xavien Howard is out. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: Both players missed Week 18 and both were limited in practice this week but it sounds like they will suit up Saturday evening against the Chiefs. It's unclear at this time how the split will go between Mostert and Devon Achane this week but both backs should see a lot of work in the cold playing conditions.

| Sam LaPorta practices Thursday, optimistic for WW Knee injury By: Mike Krueger | Jan 11 2024, 3:25 pm
Sam LaPorta said the knee is feeling better. He ran some routes today and is getting better every day. Looks like Sunday could be a possibility. (Tim Twentyman on X)
FFToday's Take: LaPorta is a key piece to the Detroit passing attack and will be needed if they want to beat the Rams. The Lions and Rams don't kickoff until Sunday night, so we might not know his status until the Inactives come out. We'll get more information tomorrow, but he'll likely be listed as Questionable after practice on Friday.

| Sam LaPorta facing uphill battle to play Suffered hyperextended knee and a bone bruise in Week 18 By: Doug Orth | Jan 8 2024, 7:00 pm
Lions Pro Bowl TE Sam LaPorta suffered a hyperextended knee and a bone bruise, source said after the MRI. He’s likely to miss some time, but as coach Dan Campbell said, not as bad as it could’ve been. (NFL Network - Ian Rapoport)
FFToday's Take: Campbell went on to say that LaPorta has an "outside chance" to play in the Wild Card Round. Fantasy managers should consider that possibility highly unlikely. In the extreme off-chance he can go, it is highly doubtful he would be very effective. Fantasy managers may remember last season when Detroit received huge contributions down the stretch from Brock Wright and James Mitchell, so no one should be surprised if one of those two players - assuming Wright (hip) can play - fills in nicely for LaPorta and ends up being a good DFS punt.

| Gabe Davis nursing minor knee injury Diagnosed with mild PCL sprain following Week 18 win By: Doug Orth | Jan 8 2024, 6:40 pm
Sources: Bills WR Gabriel Davis suffered a PCL sprain that is not considered major. His status is TBD, but he has not been ruled out of anything just yet. Buffalo’s big-play WR got some solid news.
He will be one of the top WR free agents available this offseason, but has work to do first. (NFL Network - Ian Rapoport)
FFToday's Take: Davis has been a boom-bust receiver most of his NFL career, but he really took it to an extreme in the second half of this season. In two November and December games, he topped 100 yards receiving and scored. In four other late-season games, he was shut out. Davis has turned himself into a very good blocker, which has helped to keep him on the field. However, Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid have contributed much more consistently than he has. Davis does not warrant much consideration in playoff leagues.

| D'Andre Swift not expected to play, Illness Eagles lose starting RB for Week 18 By: Mike Krueger | Jan 7 2024, 12:00 pm
Eagles' RB D'Andre Swift is not expected to play today vs. the Giants due to illness, per league source. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The Eagles will be without their starting running back against the Giants for the season finale. Expect to see Kenneth Gainwell and Rashaad Penny handle the running back workload.
| Trevor Lawrence In, Christian Kirk Out for Week 18 Jagaurs won't have key receiver By: Mike Krueger | Jan 7 2024, 11:30 am
After a pregame throwing session Trevor Lawrence is expected to play per source. He’s going to tough it out. Christian Kirk isn’t going to play today. He’s made a remarkable recovery thus far, but not there just yet. (James Palmer on X)
FFToday's Take: Jacksonville's quarterback is good to go after throwing well in pre-game warmup. However, Lawrence will be without Christian Kirk who as activated off IR yesterday but still isn't healthy enough to play. Calvin Ridley, Zay Jones and TE Evan Engram will be the top receiving options for Jacksonville today.
| Alvin Kamara not expected to play in Week 18 Ankle injury By: Mike Krueger | Jan 7 2024, 10:38 am
Alvin Kamara is not playing today, per source. Kendre Miller is active today, per source (Nick Underhill on X)
FFToday's Take: Kamara missed practice all week with an ankle injury. The running back room will now feature veteran Jamaal Williams and the rookie Miller. Expect them to split carries and each can be considered Flex options for Week 18.
| Jaylen Waddle, Raheem Mostert not expected to play Miami down key pieces in Week 18 By: Mike Krueger | Jan 7 2024, 12:09 am
#Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (knee/ankle) and WR Jaylen Waddle (ankle) - both listed as questionable - are not expected to play Sunday night vs. the #Bills, per me and @RapSheet.
Both should be ready for the playoffs. But Miami will try to win the AFC East without them. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: The Dolphins will be short-handed when the take on the Bills Sunday night. Expect Devon Achane and Tyreek Hill to do the heavy lifting in the offense. Jeff Wilson will mix in at running back and Cedrick to see increased looks at receiver with Waddle out.
| Jaguars activate Christian Kirk off Injured Reserve Eligible to play in Week 18 By: Mike Krueger | Jan 6 2024, 2:35 pm
Jaguars activated WR Christian Kirk from off injured reserve to play Sunday at Tennessee. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Kirk has made a fairly quick return from core muscles surgery and we don't have any clear indication on how much he will play this week. He's extremely cheap in DFS circles making for a nice salary saver. Zay Jones (hamstring) is also expected to play.
| AJ Dillon out, Christian Watson gametime decision Dillon out with stinger By: Mike Krueger | Jan 5 2024, 2:43 pm
Matt LaFleur said of Christian Watson: “We felt he had two good days of practice and wanted to give him today and we’ll see where he’s at on Sunday.” (Rob Demovsky on X)
FFToday's Take: AJ Dillon will miss this week's game due to a stinger and not his broken thumb. Aaron Jones will continue to be the lead back for Green Bay with Patrick Taylor serving in a backup role.
Watson will be a gametime decision after practicing on Wednesday and Thursday then taking the day off on Friday. Jayden Reed (chest) and Dontayvion Wicks (chest) are also listed as Questionable but are expected to play.
| Trevor Lawrence a gametime decision for Week 18 Shoulder injury By: Mike Krueger | Jan 5 2024, 11:13 am
#Jaguars coach Doug Pederson told reporters that QB Trevor Lawrence will be questionable for Sunday and that the decision could go right up to game-time. He'll ramp up and try to throw more today. (Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: Lawrence has been battling a shoulder injury that kept him out last week. The Jaguars are in a must-win situation this week so if he's close, it's likely he'll suit up against the Titans. Christian Kirk (core) has been practicing this week and will need to be taken off IR on Saturday in order to have a chance to play.

| Dalvin Cook lands with Baltimore Veteran RB released by Jets By: Mike Krueger | Jan 4 2024, 5:01 pm
Four-time Pro Bowl RB Dalvin Cook is expected to sign with the #Ravens for the playoffs, per his agency @LAASportsEnt.
Cook now has 2 1/2 weeks to get ready for the divisional playoff game. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: Cook was shoved to the back burner in New York midway through the season and eventually released earlier in the week. He will battle Melvin Gordon for the No.3 back on the team and will have very little fantasy value during the playoffs unless an injury occurs to Gus Edwards or Justice Hill.
| Rams will rest a handful of starters in Week 18 Kyren Williams, Cooper Kupp included By: Mike Krueger | Jan 3 2024, 4:50 pm
Per Sean McVay: The Rams will rest Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Kyren Williams, Aaron Donald and Ernest Jones, all healthy, in anticipation of the postseason.
Tyler Higbee (shoulder) and Joe Noteboom (foot) will miss Sunday's game due to injuries. (Jourdan Rodrigue on X)
FFToday's Take: The Rams will be rolling out the backups on offense in Week 18 against the 49ers. Ronnie Rivers could see an expanded role at running back as he's been the backup to Kyren the last two weeks. Royce Freeman and Zach Evans are also options.
| Rams will start Carson Wentz at QB in Week 18 Matthew Stafford takes a rest By: Mike Krueger | Jan 3 2024, 2:26 pm
Rams announced QB Carson Wentz will start Sunday vs. the 49ers and the team will rest QB Matthew Stafford. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Stafford has been battling multiple injuries this year so it's no surprise that he'll take a seat with the Rams having already locked up a playoff spot. The 49ers are likely to sit key starters as well.
| Jeff Driskell gets the start at QB for Cleveland Joe Flacco will sit By: Mike Krueger | Jan 3 2024, 1:03 pm
Browns’ QB Jeff Driskell will start Sunday vs. the Bengals in place of Joe Flacco, with P.J. Walker backing him up. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Driskell was on the Cardinals practice squad last week and will now be thrust into action for the Browns as Cleveland has nothing to play for against the Bengals in Week 18. Don't expect to see Amari Cooper either as he missed last week with a heel injury.
| Patrick Mahomes will take a seat in Week 18 Blaine Gabbert gets the start By: Mike Krueger | Jan 3 2024, 12:49 pm
Andy Reid just confirmed the Chiefs would sit some starters in Sunday's game at LA Chargers, Patrick Mahomes included. Blaine Gabbert will make his first start at QB for Chiefs and first start for any team since 2018. (Adam Teicher on X)
FFToday's Take: In addition to Mahomes, it's unlikely that we'll see Isiah Pacheco, Rashee Rice or Travis Kelce very much if at all in this meaningless game for the Chiefs. Kelce does need 16 yards reach 1000 for the season. At running back, we could see a lot of La'Mical Perine and perhaps Deneric Prince will be called up from the practice squad.

| Dalvin Cook done with Gang Green RB wants to pursue opportunity with Super Bowl contender By: Doug Orth | Jan 2 2024, 9:40 pm
Dalvin Cook's disappointing season with the New York Jets came to a premature end Tuesday, as the four-time Pro Bowl running back was waived with one game remaining, according to his agency.
The move was mutually agreed upon, according to a source, and will allow Cook to catch on with a playoff team. He also restructured his contract to forfeit remaining guarantees, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. (ESPN.com - Rich Cimini)
FFToday's Take: To say things didn't work out in New York this season would be an understatement. Cook carried the ball only 67 times for 214 yards, a 3.2-yard average and played only 202 snaps on offense. Cook might consider reuniting with former Vikings OC Kevin Stefanski in Cleveland for a playoff run as Kareem Hunt has done next to nothing for months. Regardless of his landing spot, however, it is probably safe to say Cook's best days are in the rearview mirror.

| Kyler Murray expected to remain QB1 in 2024 Team likely to secure top-five pick in draft By: Doug Orth | Jan 2 2024, 9:20 pm
Jonathan Gannon has "no doubt" Kyler Murray will be
@AZCardinals QB next season. (AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban)
FFToday's Take: While it is possible Caleb Williams, Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels slide to the Cardinals' pick, Arizona would undoubtedly love to get their hands on Marvin Harrison Jr. They could use some help on the offensive line or on defense as well. Murray's ceiling may be higher than any of the draft's top quarterbacks, so using a top-five pick on a young one may be counterproductive. With a full offseason to get into OC Drew Petzing's playbook and several more months to build more trust in his surgically repaired knee, expect Murray to return to high-end QB1 status in 2024.

| Lamar Jackson uncertain to suit up in Week 18 No injury; Ravens clinched AFC top seed in Week 17 By: Doug Orth | Jan 1 2024, 9:30 pm
The Ravens clinched home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs with Sunday’s victory over the Dolphins.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said he has not decided whether quarterback Lamar Jackson, the MVP favorite, and other key starters will play Saturday against the Steelers. (PFT - Charean Williams)
FFToday's Take: There is precedent for what Harbaugh might do, but the safe (and smart) play for fantasy managers still playing in Week 18 is to prepare as if the Ravens will sit their starters for most - if not all - of the season finale with nothing to play for. Tyler Huntley will undoubtedly get the nod if Jackson sits and should be worth of a QB2 start in two-quarterback or superflex leagues.
| Christian McCaffrey will not play in season finale RB suffered mild calf strain in Week 17 By: Doug Orth | Jan 1 2024, 9:20 pm
Kyle Shanahan says RB Christian McCaffrey has a mild calf strain and will miss the Week 18 regular-season finale. (NFL Network - Clayton Holloway)
FFToday's Take: With the NFC No. 1 seed clinched and a bye week following that, it makes no sense for CMC or the team to push their running back. He'll have the good fortune of resting up to three full weeks if he needs it. Elijah Mitchell filled in quite nicely, finishing with 17 carries for 80 yards and a touchdown. He will be a priority add for the relatively few leagues that use Week 18 to determine their champion.

| Optimism that Ja'Marr Chase will play in Week 17 Shoulder injury By: Mike Krueger | Dec 31 2023, 12:45 am
Bengals’ WR Ja’Marr Chase, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a shoulder injury, plans to test it pregame to see how it feels, but there’s optimism he will play vs. the Chiefs - and he does have some strong words about the KC defense to try to back up. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: It seems like Chase is on the good side of Questionable this week but we won't know for sure until pre-game warmups. With the Bengals-Chiefs game kicking off the in the late afternoon window, this could put some fantasy owners in a bind. Andrei Iosivas and Trenton Irwin would see more snaps if Chase sits.
| Kenneth Walker expected to play Will he be limited? By: Mike Krueger | Dec 31 2023, 12:30 am
Seahawks’ RB Kenneth Walker, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a shoulder injury and illness, is expected to play vs. the Steelers, per source. But the team is also has some concerns about a shoulder injury that was aggravated last Sunday at Tennessee. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Walker is battling a shoulder injury and the last half of Schefter's report is concerning as they could easily give more carries to Zach Charbonnet against the Steelers today. Walker should be treated like a risky RB2 in this Week 17 matchup.
| Raheem Mostert expected to be inactive Wk17 Knee and ankle injuries By: Mike Krueger | Dec 31 2023, 12:10 am
#Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert, who is tied for the NFL lead with 21 TDs, is expected to be inactive Sunday against the #Ravens, sources tell me and @RapSheet.
Mostert barely practiced this week because of knee and ankle injuries. Big loss for Miami, and fantasy teams everywhere. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: This is a big loss for Miami as they’re already down Jaylen Waddle for this week’s game against the Ravens. Expect Devon Achane and Jeff Wilson to handle running back duties. Achane is the preferred play but Wilson should see plenty of action.
