2019 Outlook
Depth Chart
Edelman posted 74 catches for 850 yards and six touchdowns on 108 targets in just 12 games last season after missing the first month of action while serving a suspension. His 11.0 fantasy points per game where the second-most of his career, and he was on pace to set a career-high in receiving touchdowns.

With the retirement of Gronk and the unknown surrounding Josh Gordon's availability this year, Julian Edelman is the unquestioned No.1 WR for Tom Brady and the favorite target in the passing game after James White.

The fact that Edelman has yet to post more than seven touchdowns in a season of his career has always negated his value in non-PPR formats. However, his likely increase in volume with the absence of Gronk could make him of the best values of the fourth or fifth round.

Pats sign Antonio Brown, one-year deal
$15 million that includes $9 million signing bonus
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Sep 7, 5:15 pm

New England Patriots
Antonio Brown has agreed to terms with the Patriots, per Drew Rosenhaus. Here’s the deal, per Antonio Brown’s agent Drew Rosenhaus: It is a one-year contract worth up to $15 million that includes a $9 million signing bonus. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Well, that didn't take long. Given Brown's propensity for drama it's fair to wonder how many games he will actually play in New England but for now this a huge boost for the Pats offense overall. Brown won't be eligible to play until Week 2, which is too bad considering the Pats play the Steelers Sunday night. The Pats now sport a starting WR corps of AB, Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon.

Injury N'Keal Harry lands on short-term IR
Ankle injury, expected to return this season
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Sep 2, 11:45 am

New England Patriots
Patriots are placing rookie first-round pick N'Keal Harry on injured reserve, per source. Harry has battled an ankle injury during the summer. He is expected to return this season. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Harry has been battling an ankle injury this summer so the time off should help him heal. In a related move the team is bringing back Demaryius Thomas who they released during final cuts on Saturday. Neither player has much fantasy value in redraft leagues at the moment. Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon are the WRs to target in New England.

Injury Edelman to miss 3 weeks with thumb injury
Small brace over left thumb
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Jul 22, 8:41 am

New England Patriots
Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman, spotted at his youth camp over the weekend with a small brace over his left thumb (see below photo), is expected to be sidelined about three weeks due to the injury, league sources tell @FieldYates and me. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Edelman is the most stable and veteran wide receiver on the Patriots roster so while it's not ideal that he's missing a good chunk of training camp, this injury shouldn't ding his fantasy value too much. With Edeleman out, N'Keal Harry, Phillip Dorsett and Dontrelle Inman should get more work.
