2021 Outlook
Depth Chart
People in Nashville are fired up about the arrival of Jones. I wish I could say the same for this fantasy owner. I'm not there. Yes, between 2014 and 2019, he averaged over 1,500 yards and six touchdowns per season and was a full-blown stud while playing at least 14 games a season in that span. However, in 2020 he only played nine games due to lingering hamstring issues, and in three of those games he had less than five targets. He had four games of five receptions or less, and only posted three 100-yard games and three total touchdowns on the season. Oh yeah, and now he's 32 years old.

These are legitimate concerns. Then consider that he will have to fight the emerging A.J. Brown for targets in an offense predicated on running the ball with Derrick Henry. Then you have to ask yourself, when it comes to arm talent and getting the ball downfield, which is where Jones likes it, does Ryan Tannehill measure up to even an aging Matt Ryan? I don't think so.

Owners have to remember, this may not be your older brother's Julio Jones, and I see too many potential limitations on his production right now to make him anything more than a WR2.

Injury Titans will activate Julio Jones from IR, expected to play
Hamstring injury
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Dec 11, 12:51 pm

Tennessee Titans
The #Titans plan to activate star WR Julio Jones off Injured Reserve today, source said, and he’ll play on Sunday. The hamstring has healed, and Jones is ready for the stretch run. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Jones is hard to trust given he's notorious for playing limited snaps as he deals with various soft tissue injuries. The Titans are shorthanded at receiver and could really use a full game from Julio. He's a risky WR3 in a good matchup against the Jaguars.

Titans cut Adrian Peterson, sign Golden Tate to PS
Titans dealing with multiple injuries at receiver
By: Mike Krueger | Tue Nov 23, 5:15 pm

Tennessee Titans
Running back Adrian Peterson has been waived from the active roster. A seven-time Pro Bowler, Peterson played in three games for the Titans after being signed earlier this month. He rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown in 27 carries in those three contests. Defensive back Chris Jackson and receiver Marcus Johnson have been moved to Injured Reserve. Receiver Golden Tate, running back Rodney Smith, receiver Austin Mack and defensive lineman Kevin Strong have all been signed to the team's practice squad. (Tennessee Titans)

FFToday's Take: With Marcus Johnson (hamstring), A.J. Brown (chest) and Julio Jones (hamstring) all dealing with injuries the Titans are scrambling to field skill position players. To make matters worse, we're probably looking at Dez Fitzpatrick and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine as starting receivers in a bad matchup on the road against the Patriots in Week 12.

Injury Julio Jones has another setback with hamstring
Officially limited in practice after leaving practice early Thursday
By: Doug Orth | Thu Nov 11, 9:40 pm

Tennessee Titans
Something to monitor. Not sure if Julio Jones tweaked anything on this rep bit he wasn't too happy afterward and walked over to a trainer. It was towards the end of the open portion of practice. Didn't see him take any reps after it. (ESPN - Terron Davenport)

FFToday's Take: Perhaps the Titans decided to use extreme caution here, but this is getting ridiculous for Jones. It is fair to wonder at this point if the team needs to protect him from himself and let him take as much time as possible to get his hamstring right. If Jones sits again this week against the Saints, A.J. Brown could push for overall WR1 numbers. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has typically filled in for Jones when he has been sidelined this season and would be a viable flex option in deeper leagues.
