Despite investing a boatload of draft capital and cash into Wilson, the Broncos unceremoniously tossed the former Seahawk star aside this offseason. Though his numbers were strong in 2023 with 29 total touchdowns, only eight picks, and a top-10 passer rating, he never seemed to be capable of running Sean Payton's offense the way he wanted, taking the 4th most sacks in the NFL (45), and constantly drawing the ire of his coach. Pittsburgh was more than happy to snap Wilson up for the league minimum as they have decided to completely remake their quarterback room. Wilson will have every opportunity to take and hold this job as he's certainly an upgrade over whatever the Steelers threw out at quarterback last season. Unfortunately, a Justin Fields shaped shadow looms, and the Steelers staff won't hesitate to make a move if Wilson falters. With conservative for Falcon head man Authur Smith in the fold as the new O.C., and a very raw receiver room, there doesn't seem to be much fantasy upside with Wilson. At this stage of his career the Steelers hope he can at least protect the ball and stabilize the position, as the days of willing his team to win are long gone. The specter of Fields and the upside depth at this fantasy position is too much to consider Wilson as anything more than a low end QB2.

Giants sign Russell Wilson to one-year deal Expected to be the starter over Jameis Winston By: Mike Krueger | Tue Mar 25, 6:51 pm

| | The New York Giants reached agreement with Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russell Wilson on a one-year deal worth up to $21 million, including $10.5 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday. Wilson is returning as the Giants' projected starting quarterback.
(ESPN)
FFToday's Take: The Giants already signed Jameis Winston a few days ago but all signs point to Wilson being the starter. Wilson struggled to maintain fantasy relevance in Pittsburgh last season, ranking as the QB15 on a weekly basis in half-ppr leagues. This move isn't helping the value of wideout Malik Nabers although Nabers did manage a low-end WR1 season with subpar quarterback play. The Giants have the 3rd pick in the upcoming draft and still need to address their long-term quarterback problem.

| Jets sign QB Justin Fields, two-year deal $30M guaranteed By: Mike Krueger | Mon Mar 10, 2:39 pm

| | The #Jets are signing QB Justin Fields, per me and
@TomPelissero, as Gang Green gets a new starter. Fields says goodbye to Pittsburgh after 1 year.
He gets a 2-year deal worth $40M with $30M guaranteed in a deal done by @DavidMulughetaof @AthletesFirst. (Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: The Jets have parted ways with Aaron Rodgers after two years and will try their luck with Fields who lost his job as the starter with Steelers last season to Russell Wilson. The Jets have viable weapons at running back (Breece Hall) and receiver (Garrett Wilson) and Fields is capable of providing fantasy points with his legs. He'll be a viable QB2 assuming he lands the starting gig in 2025.

| Pete Carroll back in the league: Raiders new HC Three-year deal By: Mike Krueger | Fri Jan 24, 10:31 am

| | Just in: Pete Carroll and the Raiders now have reached agreement on a three-year deal with a fourth-year team option, sources tell ESPN.
Another veteran legendary coach has returned. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: At age 73, Carroll is back in the league ready to lead the Raiders in a tough AFC West division. Las Vegas is coming off a 4-13 season under Antonio Pierce who was let go earlier this month. The biggest task for Carroll and the Raiders is to find a young quarterback in the next two years. They have the 6th pick in the upcoming draft but there's already rumors that Russell Wilson could be a bridge option in 2025 if a young QB is out of reach.
