2019 Outlook
Depth Chart
Ertz set an NFL tight end record with 116 receptions last season in route to finishing as the No.3 tight end behind Travis Kelce and George Kittle. In addition to making a sizable leap in receptions, targets, and receiving yards, Ertz followed up 2017 with a second-consecutive year of eight receiving touchdowns.

With four straight seasons of at least 100 targets, there is no doubt that Ertz will once again be the focal point of the Eagles offense. As many teams struggle to incorporate the tight end position into their offense, the Eagles, 49ers, and Chiefs each feature their respective tight ends prominently, making Kelce, Ertz, and Kittle worth an early draft pick in all formats.

You could argue that no other team in the NFL did more this free agent and NFL draft period to improve their offense that the Eagles. With additions to an already highly touted offensive line, and the signing of free agent DeSean Jackson and rookies JJ Arcega Whiteside and Miles Sanders, Philadelphia is going to be a very strong offense filled with fantasy value. Sitting atop that value pyramid is Zach Ertz, who has another strong chance to be an elite TE in 2019.

Injury Zach Ertz cleared to play
Rib and kidney issues
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Jan 4, 2:24 pm

Philadelphia Eagles
Here's some news eagles fans have been waiting to hear... looks like Zach Ertz has been cleared to play tomorrow .... per league source. (Derrick Gunn on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Ertz has been dealing with rib and kidney issues but looks like he's going to suit up. His presence takes the shine off Dallas Goedert and Joshua Perkins although it's hard to imagine Ertz getting a full workload.

Injury Zach Ertz yet to be cleared for contact
Rib, lacerated kidney
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Jan 3, 1:43 pm

Philadelphia Eagles
From NFL Now: #Eagles RB Miles Sanders is good to go after praftice today, while TE Zach Ertz has not yet been cleared. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: It sounds like Miles Sanders will play this week while Ertz is trending towards being inactive on Sunday. We'll likely have a better indication of Ertz's true status on Saturday. If he sits, Dallas Goedert and Joshua Perkins would handle tight end duties and be vialbe DFS options.

Injury Zach Ertz out for Week 17
Rib and back injuries
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Dec 27, 3:31 pm

Philadelphia Eagles
#Eagles have ruled out Zach Ertz for Sunday. A few important notes: - Ertz was dealing with the rib injury AND a back injury. - Pederson has had this exact rib injury himself. He understood the pain well. - Pederson insisted that he wouldn’t risk Ertz further injuring himself (James Palmer)

FFToday's Take: Beat writers have been hinting that Ertz wouldn't suit up this week and now we have clarification. With Ertz out, Dallas Goedert is a locked in TE1. Nelson Agholor is also out, meaning Greg Ward and JJ Arcega-Whiteside will start at receiver.

Injury Zach Ertz misses practice Thursday
Rib injury
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Dec 26, 11:00 am

Philadelphia Eagles
No practice again for #Eagles TE Zach Ertz but Doug Pederson says he's progressing. (Mike Garafolo on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Ertz is in danger of missing this week's game with a rib injury. Eagles' beat reporters are pessimistic that he will play this week but his status will likely come down to a gametime decision. If he sits, Dallas Goedert would be an easy TE1 against the Giants.

Injury Jordan Howard ruled out
All systems go for Miles Sanders
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Nov 30, 12:15 pm

Philadelphia Eagles
#Eagles injury update: RB Jordan Howard (shoulder) have been ruled out for Sunday’s game. Eagles promoted TE Josh Perkins from the practice squad, activated CB Cre'von LeBlanc from Reserve/Injured and waived DT Albert Huggins. (Jeff McLane on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Howard was limited in practice this week but still needs to get cleared for contact before he can play. The Eagles will roll with Miles Sanders, Jay Ajayi and Boston Scott at running back against the Dolphins. The call-up of Perkins is concerning for the status of Zach Ertz (hamstring). Ertz owner should pay close attention to early morning reports tomorrow.

Injury Ertz, Howard listed as questionable
Hamstring injury for Ertz
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 29, 3:30 pm

Philadelphia Eagles
Zach Ertz hasn’t practiced much all this week because a hamstring injury he first suffered last week. He declined to speak today, but said, “See ya Sunday.” Would imagine he’ll soldier through as he did vs. the Seahawks. (Jeff McLane on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Ertz reportedly played through his hamstring injury last week so it's safe to assume he'll suit up in Week 13. Jordan Howard hasn't been cleared for contact so it's unlikely he plays, leaving Miles Sanders in another good spot against the Dolphins this week. Sanders has yet to capitalize on his opportunity while Howard's been out, but it doesn't get much better than a meeting with the lowly Dolphins.
