2021 Outlook
Depth Chart
OBJ has had his fair share of ups and downs in his whirlwind 7-year career. After dominating the NFL over his first three years, he's spent the next four battling injury, and chasing the HOF expectations of his early career. It's fine time that he, and fantasy owners accept that fact there is a very good chance he's already had the best statistical seasons he's ever going to have, and instead focus on how he can best help Cleveland get deep into the playoffs. Despite his all-world talent, this offense seemed to settle into a groove after he was lost for the season in Week 7 with a torn ACL. Without the pressure of keeping him happy, Baker Mayfield found a comfort zone within the offense, and I can't imagine Kevin Stefanski is going to go out of his way to change much to accommodate his return. Instead, I look for the Browns to deploy OBJ all over the field, in a variety of creative ways. Offseason and minicamp reports surrounding his health have been glowing, so if he has recovered his elite speed and quickness, he remains a threat defenses must account for. With improved chemistry with Mayfield his catch % numbers should also rise, but the simple fact is this offense is built on a foundational running game and the volume to sniff a return to elite WR1 status simply isn't there. Short of a flurry of touchdowns, Beckham Jr. is looking like at best, an upside WR2.

Injury Rams activate Darrell Henderson, OBJ from Covid list
Tyler Higbee remains on the list
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Dec 18, 4:51 pm

The Los Angeles Rams have activated receiver Odell Beckham Jr., running back Darrell Henderson and four other players from the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Saturday. The total number of players on reserve/COVID is currently at 25, including starting cornerback Jalen Ramsey, right tackle Rob Havenstein, safety Jordan Fuller, outside linebacker Von Miller and tight end Tyler Higbee. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: The Rams are getting back two of their offensive starters while Higbee remains on the Covid list. Henderson and Beckham will be RB2 and WR2 values respectively although the Rams could decide to involve Sony Michel a bit more putting a cap on Henderson's upside. The Rams and Seahawks plays Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.

Injury Odell Beckham Jr. lands on Covid-19 list
Ben Skowronek will see more snaps
By: Mike Krueger | Tue Dec 14, 3:58 pm

Odell Beckham Jr. has been added to the reserve/COVID list, the Rams announced. (Lindsey Thiry on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: By this time you know the drill. Beckham will be in a race to get two negative tests 24 hours apart in able to play against the Seahawks in Week 15. Ben Skowronek will move up the depth chart if Beckham sits.

Injury Darrell Henderson a gametime decision
Thigh injury
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Dec 5, 7:20 am

Rams will test running back Darrell Henderson and his thigh before Sunday’s game to see if he can play vs. the Jaguars, but the team is not optimistic about him being able to play, per sources. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Considering the Rams play late this afternoon, Henderson owners need to have plan B in place. Sony Michel would be in a workhorse role against the Jaguars if Henderson sits. In addition, Odell Beckham Jr. is expected to play despite a hip injury.

Injury Robert Woods tears ACL in practice Friday
Out for the year
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Nov 13, 12:45 pm

On the same day that the team signed WR Odell Beckham Jr., Rams’ WR Robert Woods tore his ACL at practice Friday, sources tell @diannaESPN and me. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Wow. With Woods out the Rams will quickly shift OBJ into the starting lineup. Cooper Kupp and Van Jefferson should be featured Monday night against the 49ers. OBJ moves up to a WR2 for the remainder of the season.

OBJ likely to be released on Friday
Team wants to reduce obligation to pay WR before making it official
By: Doug Orth | Thu Nov 4, 11:55 pm

Cleveland Browns
The key word in this is “plan,” because plans can always change. As Thursday night comes to a conclusion, however, we’re told that the Browns currently plan to release receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on Friday. The move is expected to be accompanied by a revised contract that reduces the team’s obligation to pay Beckham, if he’s not claimed on waivers and becomes eligible for the balance of his salary termination pay. The challenge for Beckham becomes not making the reduced salary so low that someone claims the contract on waivers. (Pro Football Talk - Mike Florio)

FFToday's Take: The Browns and Saints reportedly had talks before the trade deadline. New Orleans makes a ton of sense for multiple reasons, including but not limited to the fact the Saints need a true No. 1 receiver with Michael Thomas now out for the season. Never mind the fact Beckham played his college back in Louisiana (LSU). Other potential suitors include the Patriots and Chiefs.

Odell Beckham Jr. excused from practice
Team discussing his future with agent
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Nov 3, 1:45 pm

Cleveland Browns
Can confirm that WR Odell Beckham Jr. will be excused from practice today, as @JosinaAnderson reported. #Browns Kevin Stefanski says Odell’s agent and #Browns GM Andrew Berry are discussing next steps. (Jake Trotter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Beckham has become disgruntled with his usage or lack thereof and wants out of Cleveland. A trade never materialized at the deadline yesterday and now the team and Beckham's agent are discussing next steps. His release would come at a significant cap hit to the Browns. Stay tuned...

Browns: No plans to trade Odell Beckham before deadline
Teams not interested in onerous contract, declining skill set
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Nov 2, 11:17 am

Cleveland Browns
Dianna Russini (@diannaESPN) on Twitter: "The Cleveland Browns have no plans on trading Odell Beckham Jr. by today’s trade deadline, per sources. I was told there haven’t been any offers that would make sense for the organization." (Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Looks like OBJ is staying put in Cleveland, where the running game reins supreme and the offense isn't quite what it looked like at the outset of 2021. He's got an onerous contract, which includes a $15 million cap hit in 2022 and 2023, and less than 30 receiving yards in four of his past five outings for the Browns. He simply isn't part of the team's game plan even when the Browns fall behind and his value remains stuck around a low-end WR2.

Injury OBJ intends to play through shoulder injuries
Aggravated right shoulder injury in Week 7
By: Doug Orth | Mon Oct 25, 10:05 pm

Cleveland Browns
Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is playing through significant injuries to both of his shoulders, but plans to try to get through the season without surgery on either of them. (Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot)

FFToday's Take: Beckham's decision will likely endear him to teammates but may not be the best thing for his fantasy managers, especially as Cleveland moves forward with Case Keenum while Baker Mayfield is recovering from injury. Beckham should be considered nothing more than a WR4 until further notice.
