| Latavius Murray, Watkins miss practice all week|
Ankle injury for Murray
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Oct 22, 11:55 am
|Ravens RB Latavius Murray (ankle) and WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring) once again did not practice Friday. They've been out the entire week.
Devonta Freeman could get his first start for Baltimore.
DE Calais Campbell and OLB Pernell McPhee also didn't practice. Likely rest days. (Jamison Hensley on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: It appears Murray is going to miss Week 7 which would likely lead to Ty'Son Williams being active for the game. A full-blown RBBC is still the likely scenario regarding who available but Freeman should get first crack at the Bengals with Le'Veon Bell and Williams mixing in as well.
| Ty'Son Williams stuck in expanding committee?|
OC wanted to "get other backs involved" in Week 1 loss
By: Doug Orth | Thu Sep 16, 8:00 pm
|Roman said Ty'Son Williams' usage in second half was more a reflection of wanting to get other RBs involved. Said the days of one back playing whole game are over. (The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec)|
FFToday's Take: Here's one problem with Roman's comment: the Ravens haven't been a one-back team in years. Here's another problem: Latavius Murray gave the running game next to nothing in "relief" of Williams in Week 1. A more accurate statement would have been Roman doesn't trust Williams in pass pro yet. Baltimore doesn't have the margin for error now it used to, and it shouldn't take long before it becomes clear Williams needs to carry more of the load. The Ravens need to be more concerned with whether it should be Murray, Le'Veon Bell or Devonta Freeman working in tandem with him.
|Ravens call up Devonta Freeman from practice squad|
Le'Veon Bell waiting in the wings
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Sep 16, 8:40 am
|Ravens are signing veteran RB Devonta Freeman to their active roster, per his agent @DrewJRosenhaus. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: He joins Ty'Son Williams and Latavius Murray in the Baltimore backfield. The Ravens gave the cold shoulder to Williams in the second half of Week 1 after a botched pass protection assignment and a couple shaky ball-handling situations with Lamar Jackson on the read option. This isn't good news for Williams fantasy outlook. Le'Veon Bell remains on the practice squad.
|Ravens bring in Latavius Murray, one-year deal|
Baltimore full of veteran RBs
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Sep 10, 9:13 am
|Ravens now have reached agreement on a one-year deal with former Saints’ RB Latavius Murray, per source. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: The Ravens have added three veteran running backs in the past couple days including Le'Veon Bell, Devonta Freeman and now Murray. Murray is likely the best bet to see playing time of this group behind Ty'Son Williams and should be the highest waiver wire priority of the three.
| Ravens fear two ACL injuries, Gus Edwards & Marcus Peters|
Ravens hit hard with pre-season injuries
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Sep 9, 4:10 pm
|From NFL Kickoff Early Edition: The #Ravens likely lost two more stars for the season, as RB Gus Edwards and CB Marcus Peters are feared to have torn their ACLs in practice today. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: The hits just keep coming for the Ravens. After losing J.K. Dobbins (ACL) it appears another RB is out for the year. The team did sign Le'Veon Bell to the practice squad and it would seem likely that he will now be elevated for Monday night's game against the Raiders. Ty'Son Williams becomes the defacto RB1. Expect Baltimore to be bringing in another free agent (Latavius Murray?) soon. Edit: Devonta Freeman has been signed to the practice squad.
| Torn Achilles for Ravens RB Justice Hill|
Baltimore working out Le'Veon Bell and others to help shore up ranks
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Sep 7, 10:45 am
|Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) via Twitter: "Source: #Ravens RB Justice Hill tore his Achilles at practice recently. He’s out for the season. That’s why they are working out backs." (Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Le'Veon Bell, Devonta Freeman, and Elijah Holyfield worked out for the Ravens on Monday after Hill, initially slated to be active as the team's No. 3 back by default, went down. Hill is heading to season-ending injured reserve, leaving just Gus Edwards and Ty'Son Williams available at this time. We expect one or more veteran backs to be added this week.
|Saints add veteran RB Devonta Freeman|
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Jul 31, 5:00 pm
|And this was quick: Former Falcons’ standout Devonta Freeman and the Saints now have reached agreement on a one-year deal, per his agent @DrewJRosenhaus. Freeman reunited with his former college teammate, Jameis Winston. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Freeman will be slotted in behind Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray on the depth chart. It's difficult to get excited about Freeman's fantasy prospects unless Kamara or Murray miss time with an injury.
