|Cam Akers closing in on Darrell Henderson?|
RB coach hints at young RBs splitting carries
By: Doug Orth | Thu Nov 19, 10:00 pm
|With Cam Akers now healthy and catching up on reps during the week, it’s likely we’ll see more of him during the latter stretch of the season, and it would not be surprising to see his carries start to draw closer to those of Darrell Henderson. (The Athletic - Jourdan Rodrigue)|
FFToday's Take: Many fantasy owners lost patience with Akers shortly after he missed two games with a rib injury, but he wasn't even close to being ready for at least another two weeks after that. Now that he's had a few weeks of full practice reps, he is apparently ready to fulfill the promise the Rams had for him when they drafted him in the second round. The lead runner in this backfield will have low-end RB1 potential most weeks, but there may be no rhyme or reason to figuring out which back it will be. For that reason, Anderson, Akers and Malcolm Brown should be considered high-end flex plays most weeks.

Rib injury "isn't coming along" as he anticipated
By: Doug Orth | Thu Sep 24, 7:15 pm
|Sean McVay says RB Cam Akers (Ribs) isn’t coming along as quickly as he anticipated in regard to recovering from his injury. (ESPN - Lindsey Thiry)|
FFToday's Take: Rib injuries are no fun for anyone, but they are even more difficult for running backs to play through given how often they absorb contact. Consider Akers doubtful for this weekend. It could be the Darrell Henderson show in Week 3 against Buffalo if the Rams choose to ease up on Malcolm Brown, who suffered a fractured left pinky in Week 2. Given the current landscape in fantasy at running back, Henderson could be viable low-end RB2 this week.
| Malcolm Brown, Akers miss practice Wednesday for Rams|
More work for Henderson
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Sep 23, 5:30 pm
|Head coach Sean McVay said left guard Joe Noteboom (calf), cornerback Darious Williams (Achilles) and running backs Malcolm Brown (finger) and Cam Akers (ribs) are expected to miss practice on Wednesday due to injuries. Brown suffered a dislocated pinkie finger on his left hand during last week’s road win over the Philadelphia Eagles. However, the finger has been fixed and Brown is expected to play in a splint this week against the Buffalo Bills. (SI.com)|
FFToday's Take: Akers is the running back most likely to miss this week's game which should lead to more work for Darrell Henderson. Henderson posted a 12-81-1; 2-40 line last week against the Eagles. He should split time with Brown this week against the Bills.
