Cam Akers a gametime decision High-Ankle sprain By: Mike Krueger | Sun Jan 3, 7:15 am

| | #Rams RB Cam Akers (ankle) is a game-time decision and listed as questionable vs. the #AZCardinals. His status will be determined by a pregame workout. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Adam Schefter has noted that Akers will try and play. Malcolm Brown is a popular cheap DFS option this week so Akers' availability will be key to the slate. It would be tough for fantasy owners to trust Akers if he suits up given he'll be gutting out a high-ankle sprain.

| Cooper Kupp out for Week 17 COVID-19 list By: Mike Krueger | Wed Dec 30, 11:40 am

| | #Rams WR Cooper Kupp was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list because of a positive test and he’s out for Sunday, source said. So, no Jared Goff and no Cooper Kupp vs. the #AZCardinals. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: The Rams still need a win to clinch a playoff birth but will now be down Jared Goff, Darrell Henderson and Cooper Kupp. John Wolford will be starting at QB and will have Robert Woods and Josh Reynolds as his main weapons outside. Malcolm Brown should see the bulk of the work at running back unless Cam Akers is able to make a return from his sprained ankle.

| High ankle sprain for Darrell Henderson Likely out for Week 17 By: Mike Krueger | Mon Dec 28, 11:47 am

| | #Rams RB Darrell Henderson is believed to have suffered a high-ankle sprain in yesterday’s loss, making it unlikely he plays Sunday, source said. He’s having tests today to determine the severity. But LAR will be short-handed heading into a huge game vs. the #AZCardinals. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: This is back to back weeks with Rams' running backs suffering high ankle sprains. With Cam Akers and now Henderson out, we could see a whole lot of Malcolm Brown in Week 16 against the Cardinals.

| Cam Akers likely done for rest of regular season High-ankle sprain By: Doug Orth | Mon Dec 21, 11:55 pm

| | Rams RB Cam Akers has a high ankle sprain, Sean McVay says, which will cause him to miss this next game (Week 16), at least. (ESPN - Lindsey Thiry)
FFToday's Take: The injury happened in the first half of Week 15, which helps to explain why he saw so little time in the second half. It also helps to explain why he was mostly ineffective versus the Jets. Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown figure to return to their unpredictable committee in his absence next week against the Seahawks. Much as was the case before Akers' emergence, both backs will be high-upside RB3s with low floors.

| Cam Akers closing in on Darrell Henderson? RB coach hints at young RBs splitting carries By: Doug Orth | Thu Nov 19, 10:00 pm

| | With Cam Akers now healthy and catching up on reps during the week, it’s likely we’ll see more of him during the latter stretch of the season, and it would not be surprising to see his carries start to draw closer to those of Darrell Henderson. (The Athletic - Jourdan Rodrigue)
FFToday's Take: Many fantasy owners lost patience with Akers shortly after he missed two games with a rib injury, but he wasn't even close to being ready for at least another two weeks after that. Now that he's had a few weeks of full practice reps, he is apparently ready to fulfill the promise the Rams had for him when they drafted him in the second round. The lead runner in this backfield will have low-end RB1 potential most weeks, but there may be no rhyme or reason to figuring out which back it will be. For that reason, Anderson, Akers and Malcolm Brown should be considered high-end flex plays most weeks.
