|Running back Jalen Richard caught a career-high 68 passes for 608 yards in 2018 - good enough for seventh-most receptions among running backs. In fact, Richard was one of only a few running backs who caught more passes (68) than he had carries (55).
This obviously makes Richard one of the most affected players by PPR scoring formats. PPR makes Richard a viable depth option on fantasy rosters, but he's almost completely useless in non-PPR leagues.
The Raiders drafted rookie Josh Jacobs, which certainly hurts Doug Martin, but it likely doesn't affect Richard all that much. Jacobs is an above average pass catcher coming out of college but he's by no means elite in that area, which should mean that Richard keeps most of his role as the team's primary pass catcher out of the backfield.
|Raiders sign rookie RB Josh Jacobs|
Rookies expected to report to camp July 23

|Josh Jacobs on Tuesday became the final Raiders draft pick to sign his rookie contract, as the first-round choice and former star Alabama running back completed a four-year deal, the team announced.
The $11.9 million pact features a fifth-year team option, standard language for any first-round pick. (Las Vegas Review Journal)|
FFToday's Take: Despite not being signed, Jacobs participated in off-season activities and is expected to report to camp on July 23rd with the rest of the rookies. Jacobs is the favorite to lead the Raiders in running back touches with Jalen Richard filling a pass-catching role.
|Isaiah Crowell out for the season, torn Achilles|
Will undergo season-ending surgery next week

|Raiders’ RB Isaiah Crowell tore his Achilles during a workout with the team Tuesday and is out for the season, per source. Crowell will undergo season-ending surgery next week. Brutal blow for a player who signed a one-year contract with Oakland. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Crowell was on a one-year deal so it won't be a surprise if the Raiders pickup another veteran RB on the free agent market. Rookie Josh Jacobs is expected to start and be the biggest fantasy asset in the backfield. Jalen Richard, DeAndre Washington and Chris Warren currently makeup the rest of the Raiders running back depth chart.
