2021 Outlook
Depth Chart
An unrestricted free agent signing this Spring, Davis availed himself nicely as the starter in Carolina last season while Christian McCaffrey dealt with injury issues. He proved to be a durable runner, averaging just under 4.0 yards per carry on 165 totes, but his real value may come as a receiver. He had 59 catches in 2020 and the 5th-most targets of any back in the league. As at QB, the RB corps is young, so short of a late signing or injury, Davis figures to be the guy lining up behind Ryan. HC Arthur Smith has promised a more balanced offensive attack than Falcons fans have seen in recent years, which bodes well for a steady workload for Davis. But his versatility as a receiver could be the thing that gives him significant sleeper value.

News From The Past 90 Days
Cordarrelle Patterson a no-go for TNF
Spotted stretching and jogging pre-game
By: Doug Orth | Thu Nov 18, 8:00 pm

Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons will be without Cordarrelle Patterson, one of the team's top weapons, against the New England Patriots on Thursday night. Patterson has been dealing with an ankle injury, and on Wednesday, head coach Arthur Smith said he would take the decision up to game time. (ESPN - Michael Rothstein)

FFToday's Take: There was concern as early as Sunday night that Patterson may have suffered a high-ankle sprain. It appears he escaped with a minor low-ankle sprain, if only because there is no way Patterson would have been allowed to warm up four days after suffering a high-ankle sprain. Fantasy managers should be optimistic about his chances to return in Week 12 against the Jaguars. In his absence this week, Mike Davis, Wayne Gallman and Qadree Ollison figure to form an undesirable three-man committee.

Injury Cordarrelle Patterson will be a gametime decision
Limited in practice Tuesday

Atlanta Falcons
Falcons HC Arthur Smith said RB Cordarrelle Patterson will be a game-time decision tomorrow night against New England. He's practiced all week. (Michael Rothstein on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Patterson injured his ankle in Week 10, missing the second half of the Dallas gmae. He will now be a gametime call on a short turnaround. He was limited in practice Tuesday. Mike Davis and Wayne Gallman would handle the rushing duties if Patterson were to sit but neither would be a recommended fantasy option against the Patriots.

Injury Cordarrelle Patterson in doubt for Week 11
Ankle injury could sideline him multiple games
By: Doug Orth | Mon Nov 15, 7:50 pm

Atlanta Falcons
Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson is still having his sprained ankle evaluated, but it doesn’t sound optimistic for Thursday night against the #Patriots, per source. Could be a couple weeks for one of this season’s most electric players. (NFL Network - Tom Pelissero)

FFToday's Take: There has been some chatter about Patterson dealing with a high-ankle sprain, but it sounds as if fantasy managers should expect to be without him until Week 13 at the very least. Mike Davis could move into more of a featured role, although it might be a better idea if Atlanta sees what Wayne Gallman could do with more touches since Davis has largely disappointed in 2021.
