|To say the tight end position in this offense is an afterthought is an understatement. Sample, the team's 2nd round pick in 2019 was barely noticeable despite playing in all 16 games after Uzomah was injured last season. 11 personnel (1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR) is the team's base formation, as they led the NFL in 2019 AND 2020 with 76% of their snaps coming from that grouping. The tight end in this system just doesn't play a meaningful role in the passing game as a receiver, so unless your league rewards points for blocks, look elsewhere for your fantasy needs.
|Joe Mixon in for a bellcow role?|
Bengals RB missed 10 games in 2020

|Assuming health, this will be the largest workload of Joe Mixon’s career. Tag an extra 15-20 receptions to his previous totals by virtue of Giovani Bernard being gone. You will see Samaje Perine give him a breather for maybe a series or two a game. I’d expect Chris Evans to earn a portion of the pass situation plays as the year progresses. But for the most part, this will be all about him. (The Athletic)|
FFToday's Take: Bengals beat writer Paul Dehner Jr. believes Mixon is in for a bellcow type role this season, which has been the sentiment since the early off-season. Mixon missed 10 games last year with a foot injury but it's easy to see Cincinnati running a lot of 11 personnel with their three wide receivers, C.J. Uzomah at TE and Mixon in the backfield.
