2019 Outlook
Depth Chart
The biggest fantasy football question mark throughout the entire league was answered last week when the NFL released a statement, announcing that Kansas City wide receiver Tyreek Hill would not be suspended for off-field issues involving his son and his son's mother. There are other places that you can go to learn more about this story, but we're going to focus here about the fantasy impact this has for 2019.

Love him or hate him Tyreek Hill has now proven to be an elite fantasy asset in back to back seasons, both with Alex Smith and a first-year starter in Patrick Mahomes. Hill's unbelievable combination of strength, speed and explosiveness makes him practically uncontainable for even the best NFL defenses. He finished as the No.4 fantasy wide receiver in 2017 and many believed that his crazy efficiency would almost certainly mean that he'd drop down a bit in 2018. That didn't happen, though, as Hill increased his target total while maintaining his efficiency, which led to him finishing as the top-scoring wide receiver in non-PPR fantasy scoring.

Now without a potential suspension looming, Hill is free to return to the Chiefs with a clear mind and a fresh slate. That should be terrifying to NFL defenses but extremely exciting for fantasy players.

There will of course be extra scrutiny on anything that Hill does off the field for the foreseeable future and any sort of transgression could certainly lead to a significant suspension, so there is some added risk with Hill, but it's also worth noting that everything coming out of Chiefs camp seems to be that he's been a model citizen as of late.

Some fantasy owners will simply refuse to draft Hill based on the accusations about his misconduct, but those who do take a chance on him will almost certainly be showered with fantasy points this season. Hill's ADP is back on the rise and it won't be long before he's being selected near the top five at the position again.

No suspension for Tyreek Hill
League could not find evidence he assaulted his son
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Jul 19, 10:00 am

Kansas City Chiefs
NFL will not discipline Chiefs’ WR Tyreek Hill, who was accused of assaulting his son. League could not find evidence he did; it will leave open case if further evidence emerges, but Hill is free to report to camp, practice and play this season. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: From the league - "based on the evidence presently available the NFL cannot concluded that Mr. Hill violated the Personal Conduct Policy." After the initial rush to judgement, we got a sense over the last few weeks that the potential suspension was going to be 0-4 games. Hill hasn't been vindicated, but he is allowed to resume activities with the team. Hill remains a top end WR1 as long as he remains on the field. Expect to see his ADP rise very quickly.

Ruling on Tyreek Hill could come before camp
Meeting with NFL considered a positive one for Hill
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Jun 28, 8:00 am

Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs are hopeful a ruling on the (Tyreek Hill) matter will come before the start of training camp, and if that comes to fruition, expect him to be in attendance for the start of camp on July 26 in St. Joseph, Missouri. There’s optimism from those with knowledge of the situation that the meeting with the NFL was considered a “positive” one for Hill. Hill, however, could conceivably still face discipline from the NFL due to the menacing nature of the “you ought to be terrified of me, too” comment that he made to Espinal on the tape. It remains unclear how long Hill would potentially be suspended, if he is suspended at all. But if the NFL does decide to punish Hill, he is expected to fly to New York and meet with commissioner Roger Goodell. (Yahoo!)

FFToday's Take: It's sounding more and more like Hill's suspension may be in the 2-6 game area with four games a likely scenario. In any case there should be some clarity on the situation before Chiefs hit training at the end of July.

Tyreek Hill to meet with NFL this week
Multiple interviews with different league officials in Kansas City
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Jun 24, 3:00 pm

Kansas City Chiefs
Investigators from the National Football League will conduct “multiple interviews” with Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill this week, according to two sources close to the situation. The interviews indicate the NFL is ready to move forward and make a decision on Hill’s future in football. Two weeks ago, Sports Radio 810 reported that neither Hill or Espinal was responsible for their three-year-old son’s broken arm, but they both told authorities they disciplined their child with their hands and a belt. (810 WHB)

FFToday's Take: Sounds like the league an Hill will finally meet and begin to move this process forward. It sounds like once the two sides meet that a resolution and potential punishment could come before training camp begins at the end of next month.

Tyreek Hill back by training camp?
Criminal case against Chiefs' WR no longer active
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Jun 7, 2:00 pm

Kansas City Chiefs
No signs Tyreek Hill’s status changes before next week’s minicamp, but barring further developments, there‘s every reason to believe he’ll be back with the #Chiefs for training camp. @nflnetwork (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: According to the Johnson County District Attorney, the criminal case against Hill is not an active investigation. Hill has been suspended by the Chiefs and could still face discipline by the league. The timeline for any suspension notification could be lengthy given the league doesn't want to interfere with any investigation from child protective services. Hill could be re-instated by the team prior to training camp but still carries significant risk for fantasy owners.
