2019 Outlook
Depth Chart
Hooper increased his fantasy point per game average for the third consecutive season with the Falcons. His 71 catches for 660 yards and four touchdowns on 88 targets were all career highs, and he managed to post three games with double-digit targets in Weeks 5, 6, and 10.

As an afterthought for most owners, Hooper is one of the better values for owners who miss out on the top three tight ends early in drafts. Although his low touchdown rate is a concern, he has a solid rapport with Matt Ryan and plays on what projects to be a top-10 NFL offense. Considering how barren the tight end landscape is this season, drafting Hooper in the later rounds is not a bad option.

Browns add veteran QB Case Keenum
Three-year, $18 million deal
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Mar 16, 5:00 pm

Cleveland Browns
Veteran quarterback Case Keenum is reunited with his former Vikings quarterbacks coach Kevin Stefanski. The Browns agreed to terms on a three-year, $18 million deal with Keenum on Monday. Cleveland.com reported earlier in the day the Browns were ‘very interested’ in Keenum and pursuing the veteran QB. (Cleveland Plain Dealer)

FFToday's Take: The Browns were busy on the first day of legal tampering, locking down agreements with Keenum, TE Austin Hooper, and OT Jack Conklin. Keenum has bounced around the past few seasons including stops with the Rams, Vikings, Broncos and Redskins. Keenum will be a fantasy afterthought as long as Baker Mayfield remains healthy.

TE Austin Hooper headed to the Browns
Legal tampering has begun
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Mar 16, 12:39 pm

Cleveland Browns
#Falcons free agent TE Austin Hooper, the top player at his position, is headed to the #Browns, per @TomPelissero, @MikeSilver and me. They’ve agreed to terms, he’s the new highest-paid TE. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The legal tampering period has begun and it sounds like the Browns are overhauling their tight end position. The Browns are likely overpaying for Hooper who posted a 75-787-6 line last season in Atlanta. The Browns can now run a two-tight end set with Hooper and David Njoku.

Bears to pursue TE Austin Hooper
Bidding could reach $12 million per year
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Feb 28, 7:00 am

Chicgao Bears
Despite very limited salary-cap space and a highly paid tight end already on their roster, a source said they are planning to pursue Falcons two-time Pro Bowl tight end Austin Hooper when free agency opens next month. With $26 million in space and few major holes to address, the Bears could make that happen, but they’re a long shot. Hooper is in such high demand - he’s 25 and was top five at his position last season - that bidding could reach $12 million per year. “This offense, a lot of it goes through the tight end,” coach Matt Nagy said. “We’re exploring every avenue.” (Chicago Sun Times)

FFToday's Take: It's clear the Bears want to use the tight end position as a focal point in their offense much like Nagy was used to in Kansas City but the injury woes to Trey Burton have limited their ability to do so. If the Bears are unable to land Hooper they could look to Eric Ebron.

Falcons to let Austin Hooper test the market
Atlanta hasn't ruled out keeping TE
By: Mike Krueger | Tue Feb 25, 11:00 am

Atlanta Falcons
The #Falcons are planning to allow starters TE Austin Hooper and De’Vondre Campbell to test free agency, GM Thomas Dimitroff said today. The likelihood is that both players receive large deals in free agency, but Atlanta hasn’t ruled out keeping them for the right price. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Hooper missed three games due to injury but finished as the third best TE in PPR fantasy points per game setting career highs in receptions (75), yards (787) and touchdowns (6). The prevailing wisdom is that Hooper will land a contract bigger than than the Falcons are willing to match making him a likely candidate to be in a different uniform in 2020.
