2023 Outlook
Depth Chart
Speaking of spreading the ball around, Zay Jones had nearly the same amount of targets and receptions (82-career-high) as Kirk in 2022, but fewer yards (823-career-high) and touchdowns (5), finishing 32nd among wide receivers in fantasy points. Jones has proven he could find openings and get Lawrence's attention, but the addition of Ridley should (and very likely will) decrease his numbers in 2023.

With that being said, Jones is a bench player in most 12-team fantasy leagues, but could be a very solid option for bye weeks or if an injury occurs to Ridley or Kirk. However, for 14-man leagues, the WR3 is good enough to start in the flex slot and is one of a select WR3's to even be mentioned as a solid bench consideration.

Injury Christian Kirk expected to have surgery, core muscle
That will be a wrap on Kirk's 2023 season

#Jaguars WR Christian Kirk suffered a core muscle injury on his catch last night and is expected to need surgery. Rehab for a core muscle issue is generally about eight weeks. If Kirk is ready at eight weeks, he could play in the Super Bowl if Jax makes it. A little earlier puts him in the AFC Title game - if Jax makes that. (Ian Rapoport on X)

FFToday's Take: That will be a wrap on Kirk's 2023 fantasy season. The Jaguars will move forward with Calvin Ridley, Zay Jones and perhaps we'll see more of Parker Washington who went 6-61-0 on six targets in Week 13 against the Bengals. This is Ridley's opportunity move up into the weekly WR2 conversation.

Jaguars WR Zay Jones (knee), S Antonio Johnson (hamstring) are out for Sunday. LB Josh Allen (shoulder), DL Foley Fatukasi (shoulder), S Andrew Wingard (shoulder) are questionable. FFToday's Take: Zay missed practice all week and won't play against Houston. Jacksonville has plenty of weapons at receiver and it's safe to assume the vacated targets will be soaked up by Calvin Ridley, Christian Kirk and tight end Evan Engram. All are good plays in Week 3.
