JuJu put an end to anyone who thought his 2017 rookie year was a fluke, as the former USC Trojan finished 6th in the NFL with 111 receptions, 5th in yardage with 1,426, and tacked on 7 touchdowns for good measure. Smith-Schuster has made a living during his first two seasons feasting on single coverage as the defense focused on Antonio Brown. JuJu emerged as a go-to receiver for the Steelers last year, and has had a historical start to his career. He's been as consistent as they come, and now slides into the lead dog role in this passing game with the departure of Brown. His current mid-2nd round ADP reflects this, but there is a big question mark to consider before making JuJu an automatic selection.
He's played exactly one game in the NFL as the focal point of the passing game, and that came in Week 17 last season when Brown was "out with an injury". It didn't go well. He caught only half of his ten targets, and while he did score, he only tallied 37 unexciting yards. The big unanswered question here is whether the third year receiver has the route running discipline to get open against the double coverages once reserved for his temperamental former teammate. He's got a good rapport with Big Ben, but I still believe this offense will spread the ball out more than they have in the past. Young, highly picked receivers James Washington and Dionte Johnson figure to be in the mix, and the Steelers also added veteran Donte Moncrief in the offseason. JuJu's role and two-year production makes him an easy WR1 candidate; I'm just not sure he slots into an automatic replacement for Browns numbers.

JuJu Smith-Schuster back at practice Wednesday Steelers WR on track to play Week 15 By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Wed Dec 11, 8:33 pm

| | Wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster was able to return to practice on Wednesday as a full participant. Although James Conner is still dealing with the shoulder injury he reaggravated in Week 11, he was also able to return as a full participant. Practicing in a limited capacity over the last two weeks, Conner joined Smith-Schuster in making a significant step in returning to the lineup.
Running back Jaylen Samuels suffered a groin injury against the Cardinals on Sunday, and his availability for Week 15 is still up in the air. Tight end Vance McDonald is in the NFL’s concussion protocol after leaving last Sunday’s game in the second half and was unable to practice on Wednesday. (SB Nation)
FFToday's Take: JuJU and Conner are the main concerns here, as they'll reduce the value of some of the guys whop have been filling in like James Washington and Diontae Johnson, as well as RB Benny Snell.

| JuJu Out, Conner Doubtful for Steelers Knee injury for Smith-Schuster By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 29, 3:00 pm

| | The Steelers will be without wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster for the second week in a row, and running back James Conner likely won't play, either. Conner was a limited participant in practice on Thursday and Friday, but Smith-Schuster didn't practice at all during the week. He cleared concussion protocol Wednesday but is still dealing with a knee injury that requires a brace. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: The Steelers will feature James Washington and Diontae Johnson at receiver with Benny Snell, Jaylen Samuels getting the bulk of the running back work with Trey Edmunds mixing in. It will hard to trust anyone but Washington at receiver with both Samuels and Snell middling Flex options against the Browns.

| James Conner gets some work in Thursday JuJu still out of practice By: Doug Orth | Thu Nov 28, 11:30 pm

| | Some good and bad on today's Steelers injury report. James Conner got in a limited practice, but still no JuJu Smith-Schuster. A DNP entirely. (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)
FFToday's Take: This is a bit of an interesting revelation considering Conner told reporters Monday "it'll be a little longer" before he's ready to play. That still may be true, but now it appears he at least has a shot to play in Week 13. Owners would be wise to make other plans though. As for JuJu, he's almost fallen off the fantasy map with multiple changes at quarterback and his injuries. Until Ben Roethlisberger returns next year, it's going to be hard to start any Steelers receiver again.

| JuJu, Conner ruled out, Diontae Johnson will play Steelers hit with injury bug By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 22, 2:15 pm

| | The Steelers will officially be without JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Conner against the Bengals. CB Artie Burns is listed as doubtful. There were no other injury designations, meaning WR Diontae Johnson (concussion) is good to go. That's good news for a very depleted WR corps. (Brooke Pryor on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Johnson suffered a bad looking concussion in Week 11 but will suit up for a depleted Steelers offense that will feature Johnson and James Washington at wide receiver along with Jaylen Samuels, Benny Snell and Trey Edmunds at running back. Samuels in PPR leagues is the only recommended option of this group.

| JuJu uncertain for Week 12 Concussion, knee injury By: Mike Krueger | Mon Nov 18, 2:07 pm

| | On the same play he suffered a concussion against the Browns, Steelers’ WR JuJu Smith-Schuster also injured his knee and now Pittsburgh is uncertain whether he will be able to play Sunday at Cincinnati, per league sources.
Steelers WR Diontae Johnson also nursing a concussion. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: The Steelers are banged up at the receiver position this week which could mean more looks for James Washington who's posted 13 catches for 208 yards and 1 TD over the last three weeks. We'll have more update on JuJu as the week rolls on.

| Ben Roethlisberger out for the year Will have surgery on elbow By: Mike Krueger | Mon Sep 16, 11:45 am

| | Ben Roethlisberger underwent an MRI on his right elbow that revealed he will need season-ending surgery this week. He will be placed on IR. Mason Rudolph now becomes the Steelers’ starting QB. Having traded Josh Dobbs to Jacksonville last week, the Steelers now are likely to sign QB Devlin Hodges off their practice squad to back up Rudolph. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Week 2 was rough for quarterbacks and that includes Roethlisberger who will miss the remainder of the season. This is a downgrade for the entire Steelers offense including JuJu Smith-Schuster. Mason Rudolph went 12-19 for 112 yards and 2 TDs in relief on Sunday. Upcoming PIT schedule: @SF, CIN, BAL @LAC, BYE.
