Injuries and ineffectiveness have Watson's trade and subsequent contract teetering on the historic disaster range. After suffering a shoulder injury that eventually knocked him out for the year, Watson sat and watched a washed-up Joe Flacco lead Cleveland to the playoffs. The Browns have gotten just 16 total touchdowns and 12 games out of their monstrous investment, and it's clearly now or never for Watson. Cleveland has a solidly built roster that's ready to win, but will only go as far as Watson can take them. This passing game is flush with weapons after the trade for Jerry Jeudy, although Amari Cooper's contract situation is something to monitor. It's been three years since Watson has been an elite player and with damage done both physically and mentally, it's difficult to believe he can return to his peak Houston days. The weapons, scheme, and situation in Cleveland certainly set him up for fantasy success, but he's way too much of a risk as anything more than an upside QB2.

Jameis Winston expected to start in Week 8

FFToday's Take: With Deshaun Watson suffering an Achilles injury last week and DTR injuring his finger, Winston will get the start against the Ravens in Week 8. This should be a boost to the Browns pass catchers but TE David Njoku will be the most reliable. Jerry Jeudy, Elijah Moore and Cedric Tillman will be risky Flex options at wide receiver. On the plus side, the Ravens have given up the 3rd-most fantasy points to Quarterbacks.
|  MRI confirms torn Achilles for Deshaun Watson

FFToday's Take: Watson and the Browns offense have struggled through seven weeks of the 2024 season on their way to a 1-6 record. Backup Dorian Thompson-Robinson (finger) was also injured in Week 7 which allowed emergency QB Jameis Winston to see action in the 4th quarter. It remains to be seen who will get the start in Week 8 against the Ravens.
