Boom or bust has defined Mike Williams' NFL career, and now the former first-round draft pick heads to New York to play alongside future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Williams only played three games this past season but delivered spectacular performances during that short span, ranking as the WR10 in average fantasy points per game. Despite having played seven NFL seasons with talented quarterbacks like Philip Rivers and Justin Herbert, Williams has only reached 1,000 yards twice. While Rodgers may be the only future Hall of Famer among them, the 2024 version of Rodgers might be the least effective quarterback Williams has played significant snaps with.
Williams is known as a classic "better in best ball" player, given his unpredictable week-to-week performances and the frustration of managing his history of spike weeks followed by duds. Currently being selected outside the top 50 at his position in drafts, Williams' acquisition cost is low, making him a reasonable late-round pick as a WR5/6.

Mike Williams dealt to Pittsburgh NYJ receives 2025 fifth-round pick in return By: Doug Orth | Tue Nov 5, 5:10 pm
| | Another trade: Pittsburgh is trading a 2025 fifth-round pick to the Jets for WR Mike Williams, per source. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)
FFToday's Take: Although Williams' time in New York did not go as planned, Williams is still a very good deep threat and contested-catch receiver. At worst, he should quickly emerge as a capable complementary receiver who can stretch the field and take some of the defensive attention away from George Pickens. It may be too much to ask Williams to be useful in fantasy in Week 10 against the Commanders, but Williams could emerge as a viable flex option in deeper leagues later this month.
| Trade: Davante Adams headed to the N.Y. Jets Raiders receive a conditional 3rd-round pick By: Mike Krueger | Tue Oct 15, 10:10 am
| | Compensation update: The trade for Davante Adams is expected to get finalized today, per sources.
It will be for a conditional 3rd-round pick that can go to a second-round pick, per source. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Adams getting traded has been a likely scenario for the star wide receiver who's missed the last three games with a hamstring injury. Adams was reported to be interested in going to the Saints or Jets given his familiarity with both quarterbacks. This move is going to drag down the fantasy values of Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard who currently sits as the WR17 in half-PPR leagues. Mike Williams is completely off the fantasy radar. It remains to be seen if Adams will be ready to play in Week 7.
