|A two-game suspension for Herndon stemming from a DUI conviction makes Herndon a player to avoid in most drafts unless owners play in leagues deep enough to carry two tight ends. As a rookie, Herndon finished the season as the No.18 tight end in fantasy points per game, just six-tenths of a point behind Greg Olsen for TE12.
The former fourth-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft out of the University of Miami proved to be a championship winning streamer last year, with six catches for 82 yards and a touchdown at a position void of many strong performances.
While he may be someone to avoid in drafts, Herndon does have streaming value this season and could once again flirt with TE1 status.
| Bell, Herndon expected to play for Jets|
Gase: It looks good

|The Jets expect RB Le'Veon Bell (knee/ankle) and TE Chris Herndon (hamstring) to play Sunday against the Giants. "It looks good," coach Adam Gase said. It will be Herndon's season debut. (ESPN)|
FFToday's Take: The fantasy community has been overly obsessed with TE Chris Herndon going back to the pre-season. He'll finally make his debut in Week 10 and be another option at a weak position. Bell had an MRI this week but appears good to get in a decent matchup against the Giants.
| Chris Herndon unlikely to play in Week 9|
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Nov 2, 7:00 am
|Suspension cost Chris Herndon all of September. A hamstring injury cost him October. It's now November and the young tight end has still yet to practice fully this season.
Herndon wasn't ruled out of Sunday's game against the Dolphins, listed as questionable after continuing to practice on a limited basis on Friday, but coach Adam Gase made it sound unlikely he will play.
"I don't want to put him out there if he's not feeling good," Gase said. (New York Post)|
FFToday's Take: It will likely be the Ryan Griffin show at tight end for the Jets this week against the lowly Dolphins. Griffin finished at the TE1 in Week 8 with a 4-66-2 line but has four games this season with 1 catch or less. He's a TE2 in Week 9.
