|Injuries and a suspension for off-field issues limited Herndon to just one game in 2019. After an impressive rookie campaign in 2018, Herndon was a favorite sleeper candidate in the fantasy community, only to end up a complete disappointment on and off the field.
Could Herndon be a post-hype sleeper in 2020? It is certainly possible, with the Jets losing two starting wide receivers and replacing them with a rookie in Denzel Mims and a journeyman bust in Breshad Perriman. There are targets to be had in this offense, and Herndon is a big-bodied receiver who looked to be a budding star back in 2018.
Due to the fact that we don't know a ton about how well he stayed in shape during his suspension and the inability for him to work out with Darnold this offseason due to COVID-19, Herndon may be a stretch to rely on as your starting tight end in the draft. But he should garner No.2 tight end consideration in deep leagues where owners typically take two tight ends.
| Jamison Crowder misses practice Thursday|
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Sep 17, 11:30 am
|Jets early injury report: WR Jamison Crowder, who had seven catches for 115 yards and a TD last week, won't practice today due to a hamstring injury. He "pulled up" and was limited yesterday, per Adam Gase, who indicated it's not a long-term injury. Status for Sunday will hinge a lot on whether he practices tomorrow. Braxton Berrios would replace him in the slot. RB La'Mical Perine (ankle) will return to practice; a chance he plays. LT Mekhi Becton (knee) is fine. (ESPN)|
FFToday's Take: Another hamstring injury. The Jets may be without another key piece of their offense after RB Le'Veon Bell was placed in IR with a hamstring injury of his own. If Crowder sits, Breshad Perriman and TE Chris Herndon would be the top targets for Sam Darnold.

Jets scrambling at WR
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Aug 29, 9:38 am
|Hurting for veteran depth at wide receiver, the New York Jets have agreed to terms with free agent Donte Moncrief, a league source confirmed Saturday. They recently signed Chris Hogan, who already is working with the starters. (ESPN)|
FFToday's Take: With Breshad Perriman missing practice due to swelling on his knee and rookie Denzel Mims out with a hamstring injury, the Jets have been scrambling at the receiver position this off-season. When Hogan is running with the starters, you know you have issues. The receiving threats to own in this offense are TE Chris Herndon and Jamison Crowder (PPR leagues).
