No other team in the NFL had more tight end touchdowns and red zone targets than the Eagles. This was, in large part, to the massive number of injuries sustained by the Philadelphia wide receiving corps.
Flash forward to 2020, and you have a wide receiving corps that is already dinged up with Alshon Jeffery possibly starting on the PUP, DeSean Jackson entering his 13th season and a rookie in Jalen Reagor who will not have a full offseason to build rapport with Carson Wentz.
Those factors will likely once again make Wentz lean heavily on his tight end duo of Dallas Goedert and Zach Ertz. The latter is the higher targeted player who will cost significantly more in drafts, while the former is a solid value who presents top-3 upside should Ertz go down.
Let's just hope Goedert can avoid any more sucker-punches in bars from now to the start of the season.

Eagles to go with Jalen Hurts at QB for Week 14 Carson Wentz will be the backup By: Mike Krueger | Tue Dec 8, 1:36 pm

| | Eagles’ HC Doug Pederson is naming Jalen Hurts his new starting quarterback and the rookie will start Sunday vs. the New Orleans Saints, sources tell @AdamSchefter and me. Carson Wentz will back up Hurts. (Chris Mortensen on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Hurts came in for Wentz last week against the Packers and while this move may give the team a short-term spark it remains to be seen how much of an improvement this will have on the offense. The Eagles have scored more than 17 points in their last five games. All skill position players other than TE Dallas Goedert have been underperforming fantasy assets.

| Dallas Goedert activated from IR, expected to play Eagles getting playmakers back on offense By: Mike Krueger | Sat Oct 31, 12:55 pm

| | The Philadelphia Eagles are getting some reinforcements for their Week 8 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, as the team announced on Saturday that they have activated five players off of injured reserve. TE Dallas Goedert fractured his ankle against the Bengals Week 3, and has been out since. WR Jalen Reagor will provide the Eagles' offense with some playmaking ability. (Philly Voice)
FFToday's Take: Both Goedert and Reagor will hopefully jumpstart the offense in a plus matchup against the Cowboys. Goedert is in the TE1 discussion with Reagor being a Flex option.

| Dallas Goedert (ankle) coming off IR Eagles TE taking "important step" in return to practice field By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Wed Oct 28, 10:30 am

| | The Eagles on Wednesday morning activated the 21-day practice window for tight end Dallas Goedert, the first important step to his returning to game action. Goedert has been on IR with a fractured ankle since Sept. 29. (NBC Sports)
FFToday's Take: Goedert will immediately be a plug-n-play TE with Zach Ertz already sidelined and Richard Rodgers offering moderate value.
