2021 Outlook
Depth Chart
Goedert was one of the many Eagles who dealt with multiple injuries in 2020. He managed to play in just 11 games, posting a career-low three receiving touchdowns on 46 receptions. The breakout season that many predicted did not come to fruition, with injures to the offensive line and sporadic quarterback play hurting all skill position players' value.

Assuming Zach Ertz is on the way out, Goedert projects to be the starting tight end for new head coach Nick Sirianni and possibly the top receiving option for Jalen Hurts.

The Eagles have two young and unproven starting wide receivers in Jalen Reagor and DeVonta Smith, which could lead to Hurts leaning on Goedert over the middle along with his running backs out of the backfield.

The Eagles are a difficult team to project-based the mass overhaul in the coaching staff and the exodus of veteran wideouts like DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery. We assume Sirinani will have Hurts lean on his tight ends and ground game, similar to the offense he ran as the offensive coordinator with the Colts. However, he has a quarterback in Hurts with a completely different skill set than Philip Rivers, and his wide receivers with the Eagles are far more explosive than those on the Colts.

News From The Past 90 Days
Dallas Goedert works on the side Thursday
Activated from COVID list Wednesday after missing Week 6
By: Doug Orth | Fri Oct 22, 1:00 am

Philadelphia Eagles
Dallas Goedert did not practice (he was working on the side) in his first day back from the COVID-19 reserve list. (The Athletic - Zach Berman)

FFToday's Take: With Zach Ertz now in Arizona, the path is clear for Goedert to live up to the TE1 hype he garnered this summer. It's not a great sign that he didn't return to at least a limited practice after spending about 10 days away, but Friday's final injury report figures to tell the tale for his Week 7 status. Assuming he is good to go this weekend, he should be considered a mid-tier TE1 with upside against the Raiders. Jack Stoll would most likely get the nod if Goedert doesn't play.

Injury Eagles trade Zach Ertz to Cardinals
For CB Tay Gowan and a 2022 5th-round pick
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Oct 15, 11:07 am

Arizona Cardinals
Trade: Eagles are sending three-time Pro Bowl TE Zach Ertz to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for CB Tay Gowan and a 2022 5th-round pick, sources tell ESPN. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Cardinals were in the market for a tight end after losing Maxx Williams to a knee injury in Week 5. Ertz will not be eligible to play in Week 6 for Arizona after playing last night for the Eagles. Dallas Goedert (Covid-19 list) should see a boost in targets and Ertz is now viable as a weekly play at a position struggling for depth.
